I am AMAZED at how you gain the depth of knowledge about these products, how to use them, and on and on AS WELL AS having 3 kids who are involved in several activities taking place after school. Great work! Your Dad
aw thanks Dad!! :D
She’s the best.Beautiful inside & out!
Aww I love this, Emily is so blessed to have such a supportive father.
How sweet is your whole entire family!
Sweetest Dad comment ever! 😊
I had a set of Clairol hot rollers for years, used a lot in the 80s through late 90s, similar to the sizes in BaByliss. Wow, brings back so many memories.
So excited for this video!!!! Not that I will ever use rollers, but its just so nice to hear someone talk about them? They will always remind me of my aunt, who I looooooved to watch get ready for functions and do her makeup with her curlers in. I remember how the curlers smelled as they heated up and how fun it was to watch her brush out her curls.
I’m really happy you made this video I’ve always wanted to know more about hot rollers! Thank you for always creating helpful wholesome content!
This was the best in depth explanation of hot rollers and how to style to your hair after using them. I was never very good at styling my hair but now I will try your tips and hot roller recommendations. Thanks so much!!!
Just enjoying this video. I spend so much time on makeup each morning and my hair is like done in 5 minutes😆😆
haha yeah I spend much more time on makeup also! :D
I still have my hot rollers from early 80s. I have not used them since the 90s. I have no idea if they even still even heat up! LOL I have a pixie now so ... this brought back some good memories! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
I have that 3rd set you showed. Great set I also just bought a set of jumbo off amazon and Love them i have medium long very thick hair and they are great for me.
nice! Glad you've found some that work - that's not always easy!
what a fun video, thanks Emily! I also love hot rollers and have tried many different ones. The main problem for me is that they don't last, so normally I prefer the curling iron. now I own the new improved dyson airwrap with the long barrel, the curls come out sooooo airy and fluffy, kind of like whipped cream but for hair. 😄 I love it.
Wow Dyson is suppose to be the best for irons that twist and curl. It's been awhile since I curled it in any way. Now I was and braid but looking for something to brighten up my life.
When you did the physically easy to apply makeup that was really helpful as someone with a mobility disability. Do you have any tips for doing hot rollers that would make it physically easier?
I have a spiral set of hot rollers from bedhead. They work really well and the curl holds.
I want to wish you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a very happy & healthy New Year!!! xx
I have tried all those sets and agree with this review. One thing, you can purchase 1” or 1.25” rollers in a two piece set from Ulta, Amazon and sometimes Poshmark to get those tighter curls. I have subbed out 4 of the jumbo rollers in the T3 set with 1.25”. My only caution on the remington is that the clips get so hot that they burn my fingers. I also experienced the set stopped heating up within six months of owning.
Also kenra number 19 heat protectant can help with hold!!
Thank you for such a thorough and genuine review! Have you ever put in the rollers before you’re gonna leave somewhere like if you have to ride in the car for a while, and then taken them out shortly before you arrive? (Or, if you’re driving, taken them out when you park.) Do you have any thoughts or tips on that? That is an idea I have…
You are so beautiful with or without curls…❤️❤️❤️
Guys setting lotion is key when doing roller sets of all kinds! You want some long lasting curls put setting lotion on damp hair and you’ll get some long lasting results. If you happen to do it on dry hair then use mousse instead! Trust me you’ll love it and you’ll thank me later
Can you please do a video showing your entire makeup collection and even do a declutter? I would love to see that.
Emily love your channel! I wanted to share that I find titanium works SO MUCH BETTER to hold the curl for my hair. I don’t have hot rollers but I’m talking for the curlings irons - the difference is big for me ❤
You should review the over night octocurl!
Beautiful! Wow! What is your hair cut style? I know it is layered, but wondering how to articulate to the hairstylist. I have had some challenges articulating and some just do not get it. I miss my hairstylist in NC, he was the best ever!
OMG… I have short hair… and want to give it a “little sticky moment…” you have helped…TY.
It’s Bab liss that’s how you say it. Im a hairstylist and former pro store manager the company rep told me it’s not said Babyliss it’s Bab liss 🤷🏽♀️ I agree with you on the Remington. The old school Caruso hair setter was the absolute best back in the day. Great video!!
I have the old school all hard set from 20 plus years ago from Sunbeam. They are good but I want a set that does volume on super thin blonde hair.
My problem is…I have so much hair and it is thick. I need a set that has all one size and enough rollers to put in my hair at once. Currently I have to roll part of my hair and then take them down, allow them time to reheat and then curl the rest of my hair. Appreciate your reviews!
Yes!!!! This is the review I've needed!!! Thank you!!
Thank you SO much for this video! I never used hot rollers before (I am 51) and now I am HOOKED! How did I ever lose time with a curling iron? I went with the currently available version of the Remington Pro (not purple) and my only wish is that I could swap out my 1" rollers for all 1-1/4". I have found extra rollers for sale on the Remington site but they are purple 1-1/4" for what I believe is the model you are using. I think I'll take a chance and order them because it looks like they'd fit.
My rollers have their space and certainly not at no bottom. My roller sit on my dresser. Love my rollers. My wand andmy Revlon dryer/ curler are all on the bottom of my large make up trolley. I also have the babylis roller curler.
I haven’t even watched the video yet and you always look beautiful, but you are a total knockout in that thumbnail pic 😘
Since the T3 is open, do you think you could attach the clips to the rollers while it heats up for that same heated clip effect as the other set?
that's a good thought! I wonder if they would get "hot" the way the others do - worth a try!!
Question. With the last set, do you not have trouble with your hair getting tangled in the roller when you’re taking it out. What am I doing wrong? My hair is very similar to yours.
Thank you for doing this video!!! I miss doing my hair with hot rollers! This was great, thanks Emily!! ❤❤
Great video. Helped me decide which to purchase.
Em, I'd love to see a comparison between the T-3 and the Babyliss set that has 12 large rollers in it but I know that would require you getting the set. Have not seen that comparison yet anywhere on YT (could've missed it though) but...just sayin'
I have a pixie, so no need for hot rollers. But I'm here to support! 😉
When I finish curling my hair I give a shot with my hair dryer a couple times to heat up the outside hair.
Em, when I use the white clips, I get slight creases in my hair. If I use the small clips, the same thing happens. Do you by chance have any tips on how to prevent any creasing ? I have the Bayliss
Thank you so much !!! ❤❤
Wonderful video.. I will purchase those Remington hot rolls. Tires of the curling iron. Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family 🎄🎁🧑🏻🎄
Those clips don't leave dents in your hair?
I put the large on my bottom row. We are all different
WHAT? I’m a long time subscriber and I’ve never unsubscribed and I saw your video in my feed and it says I’m not subscribed?! I just re-subscribed.
I have three sets- I CANNOT- I repeat- CANNOT keep them in my hair no matter what type of clips I use and how many- ready to throw them all out.
Have you seen the Paul Mitchell neuros??
Do fingers burn when you roll ? I always wonder how careful you need to be using one of these and it doesn’t seem to be too hot to touch
The 75 dollars are the ones I would get.
Excellent review! I learned about hot rollers from Dita Von Teese! Would you be open to trying hot sticks?? 😊
Any one with shorter hair use these? I have shoulder length hair help
Hi Emily! I’ve been watching you for many years and I just want to say thank you for the wonderful, thought out content, for sharing about your beautiful family with us and in general for being you!
I also wanted to say that I always appreciate you adding a profound thought and a random thought at the end of your description box!
Have a merry Christmas!
Thank you so very much!! Happy to share the info & have such a kind group to share it with!
Could you do a tutorial (maybe not a full long video about just that) on how to put the rollers IN? That's the part I could never figure out! Very pretty.
yeah that's a good idea - maybe when I start a "get ready with me" I will just include that - there are some tricks!
Love this idea too, new to hot rollers
Growing up in the 70s & 80s, hot rollers were a huge part of my getting ready routine. I still love using them but my younger co-workers poo-poo them & think I look dated. While that may be true, I still remember trying to copy the Farrah look & the Jaclyn Smith look. Those styles will forever be close to my heart. The clips are okay but I never thought they held my hair tight enough, the rollers always felt like they could fall out at any minute so the pins were always my go-to. And right after I put the largest rollers on the top of my head/hair, I'd hit the roots with a shot of hairspray and let that sit there 'til I removed the rollers. Your technique is pretty great!! My hair, at the moment, is too short for them but hot rollers are where it's at!!
I am a Jaclyn Smith fan and her hair style is classic. I am not sure in her current photos if she has her own hair (color treated) or one of her wigs but she still looks fabulous.
How short is too short?
Thank you for this review. I'm a hot roller gal. I have fine straight hair and this is the only way I can get lift and curl.
Same!!
I wish you would do a tutorial on how to properly roll hair. what size roller goes in what area, which direction to roll, etc... BTW you looked so beautiful!!! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Yes, a tutorial please! 🙏🏻
I could not be happier to see this review! I've been wanting to try a set of hot rollers, but it's been many years since I've had a set and had no idea where to begin. I think I'll start at Walmart and try the Remington set. Thank you so much, Emily. You've no idea how much I appreciate your channel, and this is just one of the reasons why. Merry Christmas and I pray for many blessings this season for you and your loved ones.
Oh yes! I have been waiting for your reviews on this! 😃 I hope you’re enjoying being inside, cozy and safe 🤗 and thank you for consistently giving such good, relevant reviews 👏💗
Thank you!! Hope you're having a great day & I hope the reviews are helpful! :D
Me watching Emily's hot roller video with my naturally curly hair...Emily during the holidays and a cup of coffee is the best.
Me too! 🤣
Add me to this club
I used to use hot rollers all the time… just don’t take the time anymore. I have long, coarse, thick, wavy hair and would have to use 2 sets of rollers for all of my hair lol (conair I think) This is making me want to dig them out again ❤
thick & wavy hair is a whole other ballgame! :)
I have the same problem!
I can never get my ends wrapped and I love curls! I really dislike the "beachy waves" with that strand of straight hair at the end. 😭 Yuck! And the clips never hold tight.😔 Years ago I could roll my whole head in no time! But the older I get the less my hair seems to hold curl.
I've been waiting for this video as I am a fine hair hot roller lover. I have the Nano titanium blue one and I totally agree with you. The curl from these do not last! I've left them in longer had them heat longer to no difference. Have you tried the Steam rollers? I bought some by Caruso and that curler holds a curl for 2 days on my hair.
Once again, you've influenced my decision to purchase something. I'm getting the Remington set for sure and will also be buying it for my oldest daughter. She and I love your channel, and you've never steered us wrong. Thank you so much for being so thorough and honest in your reviews.
I have fine straight hair that loves being straightened and will stay like that all day, but so resistant to curl and volume! I've tried hot rollers but they make my head sweaty which makes my roots frizzy 😅 I guess I'm just not supposed to have bombshell hair
Do you use any product in your hair? To hold the curl? Detangle?
Going to Wal-Mart tonight. Will get remington. I have same... fine straight hair
My favorite rollers back in the day were the Caruso Steam Rollers. Those curls would last for days!
Mine too I have it still my only complaint is you can only heat one atva time
I wish those were still for sale as I loved those!!
I bought the ones you use during a Sephora sale.Ty so much for going over usage.I’m terrible with hair.
definitely takes some practice to get quick with the rollers! :D
@@emilynoel83 I love you!Merry Christmas to you & your family!
Thats it...Im buying myself a Remington set soon. That style of hair always looks gorgeous on you Emily. Your channel has always had that "classic glamour" feeling to me. Plus your personality is why Ive been subscribed all these years. You've never steered me wrong on anything Ive tried because of you. I loved the result you got and the video in general. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I hate the clips. They always flop around. I can't get it right. I want big rollers for body and very little curl.
Remington is really the best bang for the buck.
Emily, have you tried the caruso steam rollers? They are suppose to leave your hair shiny and better for your hair since they use steam! You can get it at Walmart or Amazon !
Thanks for the tip I'll be on the lookout lol
Have I ever told you that your look reminds me of snow white.....lol!!
I love hot rollers. I have my Remington set (soft pack from the '90's). I don't want to live in a world without hot rollers. Thank you for this review.
From my experience if I need my curls to really last I won’t brush it out until right before I need it to be finished. Some dry shampoo beforehand can help too if your hair is freshly washed.
I have been using hot rollers for 50 years! Thanks for a great review!!
Beautiful eyebrows
Hooray! I feel like hot rollers have been out of favor for so long, but they're really the only thing that works on my hair. Have a blessed and wonderful Christmas Emily! 🌹🎄⛄
You are the best. Thank you Emily
aw thanks!
OMG thank you so much for this early Christmas present 🥰😍 you are the best!!! 👏
My problem is that the new hot rollers do not get hot enough compared to the ones from the 80s and 90s. Which of these get the hottest?
Good wuesti🎉
Thank you for your review and recommendations on hot rollers. I've had short stick-straight hair for many years and used curling irons, etc., , but have grown my hair to below shoulder length and dug out my hot rollers that are probably older than you are!! They still work, but curls are not very long-lasting (now I have long stick-straight hair) so I wanted an upgrade (and am asking Santa for them this year). I will check out your other videos as well. I know this is off-topic, but would love to know what lipstick you are wearing in this video. Is it long-lasting? Thank you again.
just been on to instagram your children are so beautyful and your tree is loverly really festive xx
aw thank you!
You look very beautiful Emily! I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season.❄ Best wishes for the New Year!
You too!! Thank you so much!
You taught me how to put on Velcro rollers!!! I was in college and interning😂 you saved from bad hair days! Thank you!
Has anyone used Caruso steam rollers?
Thank you for your review! Last night I was getting ready for a party and plugged in my tried and true Clairol 20 from 1976 hot rollers. Welp, they finally have gone to that small appliance island in the sky! Found a 21st century curling to use. Love your videos!
I have my mother's rollers from 60-ties (imagine how long lasting they are?!?) and they give me the best results. The curles last until next hair wash. The rollers are put in boiling water for few minutes and they are ready. Of course, its inconvenient compared to today's devices but when I want long lasting results I use them.
Me: about to have a panic attack...
Also me: turns on Emily.
Everything is better now.
I got the Remington set at Target on sale for $28 and i love it! i hadnt used any in a looong time ... i would play with my mom's when i was a kid haha. Remington products are great quality for a reasonable price. I also have a curling iron that still works perfectly and I bought it years ago
You can still buy the 1 inch T3 rollers on Amazon. Two for $20.
I have the nano titanium I believe it’s a 1 1/2 inch set of 12 curlers and I also noticed the set didn’t hold unless I used hair oil in the ends of my hair ( that is below my waist ) and then the curls held. Possibly that something you could try.
Thanks for the tip!!
Yay first!
I used to only use hot rollers daily ( I am from the disco era) now it is damp hair braids or damp hair sock rolls. This makes me to want to start hot rolling again
Random compliment, but I love that you don't use fake tan anymore because your skin tone is so lovely ❤️
I've been very interested to hear this. I've grown my hair out recently and don't want to waste my money on rollers that don't work.
oh good! Thanks for taking time to watch!
❤️
I love the size of my Conair fat rollers (12 pcs, light pink, flocked, Ulta) but I totally agree, the curl doesn’t last very long!
Is it the velvet flocking material?
Would love to use hot rollers again but my fine hair seems to dry out and then the ends break. I hope no one else has this problem.
I’ve been waiting anxiously for this!!! Yayyyy!!!!!!! ❤
woohoo! :D
Hi. You hair looks gorgeus!! I will buy the Remington ceramic hot rollers, that's amazing. Excellent video.
How hot does the T3 get? I just don't want to burn my scalf or burn my hair...😉
They get plenty hot but not uncomfortable on my scalp. I will say - a time or two I've put one in the area that's just above my ear, and if the roller ends up touching my ear, it feels hot. In that case take a small piece of a tissue (or a square of toilet paper) and get it between your skin and the roller. Can usually be removed after 10 minutes or so :)
Loved this video! I have fine wavy hair and i love the Remington Set, my curls last forever with those.
I’ve been using hot rollers since the dawn of man and only use the pins on the front to prevent dents. Great review!!
