I had a set of Clairol hot rollers for years, used a lot in the 80s through late 90s, similar to the sizes in BaByliss. Wow, brings back so many memories.

So excited for this video!!!! Not that I will ever use rollers, but its just so nice to hear someone talk about them? They will always remind me of my aunt, who I looooooved to watch get ready for functions and do her makeup with her curlers in. I remember how the curlers smelled as they heated up and how fun it was to watch her brush out her curls.

what a fun video, thanks Emily! I also love hot rollers and have tried many different ones. The main problem for me is that they don't last, so normally I prefer the curling iron. now I own the new improved dyson airwrap with the long barrel, the curls come out sooooo airy and fluffy, kind of like whipped cream but for hair. 😄 I love it.

I have tried all those sets and agree with this review. One thing, you can purchase 1” or 1.25” rollers in a two piece set from Ulta, Amazon and sometimes Poshmark to get those tighter curls. I have subbed out 4 of the jumbo rollers in the T3 set with 1.25”. My only caution on the remington is that the clips get so hot that they burn my fingers. I also experienced the set stopped heating up within six months of owning.

Thank you SO much for this video! I never used hot rollers before (I am 51) and now I am HOOKED! How did I ever lose time with a curling iron? I went with the currently available version of the Remington Pro (not purple) and my only wish is that I could swap out my 1" rollers for all 1-1/4". I have found extra rollers for sale on the Remington site but they are purple 1-1/4" for what I believe is the model you are using. I think I'll take a chance and order them because it looks like they'd fit.

Growing up in the 70s & 80s, hot rollers were a huge part of my getting ready routine. I still love using them but my younger co-workers poo-poo them & think I look dated. While that may be true, I still remember trying to copy the Farrah look & the Jaclyn Smith look. Those styles will forever be close to my heart. The clips are okay but I never thought they held my hair tight enough, the rollers always felt like they could fall out at any minute so the pins were always my go-to. And right after I put the largest rollers on the top of my head/hair, I'd hit the roots with a shot of hairspray and let that sit there 'til I removed the rollers. Your technique is pretty great!! My hair, at the moment, is too short for them but hot rollers are where it's at!!

I've had short stick-straight hair for many years and used curling irons, etc., , but have grown my hair to below shoulder length and dug out my hot rollers that are probably older than you are!! They still work, but curls are not very long-lasting (now I have long stick-straight hair) so I wanted an upgrade (and am asking Santa for them this year). I will check out your other videos as well. Thank you for your review! Last night I was getting ready for a party and plugged in my tried and true Clairol 20 from 1976 hot rollers. Welp, they finally have gone to that small appliance island in the sky! Found a 21st century curling to use. Love your videos!

I have my mother's rollers from 60-ties (imagine how long lasting they are?!?) and they give me the best results. The curles last until next hair wash. The rollers are put in boiling water for few minutes and they are ready. Of course, its inconvenient compared to today's devices but when I want long lasting results I use them.

I got the Remington set at Target on sale for $28 and i love it! i hadnt used any in a looong time ... i would play with my mom's when i was a kid haha. Remington products are great quality for a reasonable price. I also have a curling iron that still works perfectly and I bought it years ago

You can still buy the 1 inch T3 rollers on Amazon. Two for $20.

I have the nano titanium I believe it’s a 1 1/2 inch set of 12 curlers and I also noticed the set didn’t hold unless I used hair oil in the ends of my hair ( that is below my waist ) and then the curls held. Possibly that something you could try.

I used to only use hot rollers daily ( I am from the disco era) now it is damp hair braids or damp hair sock rolls. This makes me to want to start hot rolling again

Random compliment, but I love that you don't use fake tan anymore because your skin tone is so lovely ❤️

I've been very interested to hear this. I've grown my hair out recently and don't want to waste my money on rollers that don't work.

I love the size of my Conair fat rollers (12 pcs, light pink, flocked, Ulta) but I totally agree, the curl doesn’t last very long!
Is it the velvet flocking material?

Would love to use hot rollers again but my fine hair seems to dry out and then the ends break. I hope no one else has this problem.

How hot does the T3 get? I just don't want to burn my scalf or burn my hair...😉

They get plenty hot but not uncomfortable on my scalp. I will say - a time or two I've put one in the area that's just above my ear, and if the roller ends up touching my ear, it feels hot. In that case take a small piece of a tissue (or a square of toilet paper) and get it between your skin and the roller. Can usually be removed after 10 minutes or so :)

I’ve been using hot rollers since the dawn of man and only use the pins on the front to prevent dents. Great review!!
