    Works for me Melissa! Beautiful hair!!!! Natalie (who no longer makes videos) also made one when she was diagnosed - well, more than one - but she took her family with her to have her head shaved and shared that with us. Any woman who does thru this is a strong strong woman for sure and we can learn so much from them. xoxo patti 🎀

      I loved that video Patti. I showed it to everyone. Natalie moved me so much. I remember showing it to my hair dresser and she burst into tears and had to leave the room. She had had to do it for several women and it had really affected her. Love you my friend! Melissa

    Melissa, you are like a ray of sunshine! I love the fact that you have a minimalist approach to your make up and hair routines! I get ovewhelmed when people whip out 20 high-end products in their videos, who has time and money to do that?! ;) Proves you dont need tons of high end products to look stunning as you do. Definitely a new subscriber...love your positivity!:)

    You are actually the best youtuber i've ever come across. I have a rule of thumb that's : don't listen to any youtuber that doesn't naturally look like what you're aiming to look like. Kind of like, run away from a dermatologist with a banged up face.. You're over 60 and don't look a day after 30, you never look cakey and have the most minimal and realistic approach to aesthetics I've ever come across. You are actually someone everyone from all ages can learn from. Thankyou so much for taking the time for us :)

    • @Melissa55
      @Melissa55  7 років тому +6

      aw, thanks so much. I have my share of wrinkles, for sure, but I appreciate it. There are so many women my age in my town that look so young and fantastic that and I do ask them what their secrets are. A lot of them get up really early and go to the Y for exercise classes. Several of my friends do that and have the beautiful figures to show for it. Several of my friends run or walk daily rain or shine. I have friends that are older than me that faithfully take yoga. I have a friend that is much older than me that is a retired school teacher. She wears cute sun dresses well above the knee. All these women wear things like cute blue jeans skirts and have gorgeous legs. They all have cute haircuts. I don't know if they have wrinkles or not because I don't look. The rest of them is so gorgeous that it doesn't matter. So I do feel I have so much inspiration from those around me and that makes me feel young just being around them. So maybe a secret to feeling young is surrounding yourself with those that feel young themselves. But thank you so much. Love, "the other Melissa" lol

    Good afternoon sweet Melissa. How cool that you posted this video. I realized my daughter took all my hair tools ..curling irons and the like with her to NY and I have nothing but the flat iron. Lol. I went out and bought a curling wand last night but the learning curve is more than I want to fool with. I think I may get some of those rollers. Your hair always looks so gorgeous. I will definitely watch your friends video on breast cancer. My aunt just went through breast cancer and all of the chemo. Even though I dont have cancer, I have to go every six months for an ultrasound for a large cyst in my breast. Watching it closely. Oh and I love the threader earrings. How sweet and what an honor to have them named after you. Much love and many blessings to you.

    I used to love the smell of Herbal Essence shampoo when it first came out. The scent is different now. I'd love to use hot rollers but they just don't work for me. My set will drop after a few hours. Gotta love those Velcro rollers & a wet set. Lots of volume after that. I love Sebastian Shaper spray. Works so well. I learned not to brush out my hair from Tammy. My curls last so much longer. She is the queen of hair! Your hair looks beautiful both ways. Much love, Lucy

    Hey Melissa, great video! I have loved hot rollers since I was 16 and I'm mid 50's now. i don't roll everyday but I used to and I really think they are a time saver, basically do the same as a curling iron, come in all sizes for whatever look you want and the flocking on them to me keeps them from damaging my hair. I think hot rollers are overlooked by many but it definitely is a time savor for me and body stays in my hair. I use those clips too and like them. I have several sets of rollers, I really need to declutter them. LOL

    • @Melissa55
      @Melissa55  7 років тому

      Thank you Jennifer and I really agree on the time saver. Really they take just a few minutes to roll and then you just get ready and you're good. It's interesting because they really big jumbo rollers haven't sold well and don't really get very good reviews. I just don't know why because I love them. Thank you so much. Love, Melissa

I do that sometimes and it works well and you don't need as many rollers. Take care beautiful lady. Lots of love and thanks, Melissa

    Melissa - thank you for this - I didn't think hot rollers would work for my very curly/frizzy/midlength hair but I bought this today and they are great! My only (User) problem is that the rollers burned (irritated) my scalp at the crown. What am I doing wrong? Also how long do you heat the rollers? The red light never came on, so after 15 minutes I figured they were good. The final look was great and I actually got volume on my crown!

    Melissa -- Since you said you couldn't find a link to the Conair ones that you own, I wanted to let you know that they sell them on Amazon. I can't put the link here, but the exact name they're called is "Infiniti Pro by Conair Instant Heat Toumaline Ceramic Flocked Hot Rollers; 2-inch for Mega Volume and Smooth Waves". If you put that, or probably even just the first 5 or 6 words, in the Amazon search box, they should come up. They're 27 bucks. :)

      Margaret, I don't know why they are so hard to find. I don't think they get good reviews and I just don't know why. I love them, especially the 2 inch jumbo ones. It really smooths my hair. I think it must get bad reviews because of the horrible clips. I don't know why they don't redesign those awful clips. They could sell so much more of them.

    • @Melissa55
      @Melissa55  7 років тому +1

      Beatrice, when I first ordered them, I was really nervous about them, too. I was afraid they would get pulled or snagged or something. But I just put them hanging down about half and half and they never move or get caught or anything. I was surprised at how easy they are. I usually leave them (the rollers) in while I put on my makeup and then get myself ready as much as I can without pulling something over my head. I'll put on my jewelry and shoes and everything, then take out the rollers and put on anything I have to pull over my head. So about 10 to 15 minutes. It would probably do better longer, but I mainly want to get the frizz out and smooth it, so that is enough time. Thank you! Melissa

    • @Melissa55
      @Melissa55  7 років тому

      Thank you so very much. Oh aren't bangs so hard to work with? By rolling it back on a big jumbo roller, it sort of straightens them and makes them more flexible or something. So when I take them down, I can run my fingers through them to break them up, then sort of pull them down at the roots and then smooth them to the side at the ends. I hope that makes sense! Thank you so much. Love, Melissa
