    As an Indian, I have equal trust and distrust for both Chinese and USA phones. I love Google's aesthetics and design language the most but hate Google and meta from my guts. No one company can beat Google in privacy violation, personal data collection.

    Everybody who has tried a Huawei, and especially a Mate 20 Pro, has still a soft spot for it 😢
    The problem I think is that nobody wants to spend so much money for a (almost perfect) phone, when the competition, like Samsung ore Google, are much more trustable and arguably have better software.
    But one day I'll surely buy again a Huawei/Honor device...

      I'm daily driving a P40 Pro + with a Watch GT4 and Freebuds 4 and it just works seemlessly.
      Huawei is the only brand that can take the crown to Apple imo that's why the US actually banned their smartphone division :/

    I got a feeling that America would just keep banning any competition that comes up as a challenger to their smartphone leadership.

    Nice video I bought myself an Honor Magic 4 Pro when it released over a year ago and am very happy with it. However it was a long thought process for me cuz I had the same doubts you explain in your video. To be honest I only bought it because of the nice aspect ratio and a good deal (700€ warehouse deal) and because I was so let down by my last Sony. My experience however was amazing and according to gsmarena it's a brand that grows currently really fast in the west. There's now even a German Honor Office which you can see growth in real time over linked-in. They hire like crazy

    I both used Huawei and Honor specifically the recent Honor 90 and the misconception about trackers is weird. Huawei phones are filled with chinese trackers (I checked it via Adguard DNS) and the Honor phone doesn't have one. Both devices are Global market not chinese region based on my test.

    I used Huawei P30 Lite for almost 5yrs. It is still one of the best phones I have ever used. Even though it wasn't waterproof, I constantly used it during heave rainfall, listening to music, the back glass is cracked because I dropped it towards the end of it's like, the charging port broke towards the end, and after 4.5yrs of rough usage it died. (If I repair the charging port, it will still run). If not for the Google ban on Huawei, I would have never steered away from Huawei ever in my life. I now use a Pixel 6A, the camera is AMAZING, but the battery life sucks, never had that problem with my Huawei. I do wish for Huawei to be back.

      I know exactly what you mean. I have used a Huawei P9 lite and a Honor 10 before i switched to Google Pixel 6A. Not a bad device, but I find it a bit clunky, especially with a case. Also sometimes a little buggy. Both of the Huawei devices I had to repair the charging port, it's a common problem on (older?) Huawei smartphones. The good thing is though, compared to the Pixel, that the charging port is not soldered to the main board so it is more easy to repair. But maybe this is also part of the reason why it breaks more quickly, I dom't know. B
      esides that, they are rock solid. Maybe I have to give the Honor brand another change in the future!

    My Huawei mate 10 was one of the best phones I had. Battery life after 2 years excellent, fast and snappy and it was excellent cameras for the time. I really loved that phone. Then I got the Samsung note 9 whith the exynos and got very disappointed. Kirin chips perform fantastic without being the fastest in benchmarks. Real life use is very different with results on benchmarks.

    You mention that the phone is "under a grand" truth is it's around half the price of the similarly spec'd S23 Ultra, has better screen, better battery, faster charging both wired and wireless, 3d face unlock, better desktop mode, the OS is great and does what I need it to do, better cameras < 10x zoom (spend more than a day playing with the cameras and you'll probably find that out!) I've had 4 Huawei devices including the Mate 40 pro, the Xiaomi Mi 11 ultra and now the Magic5 Pro. The Magic's camera are like a hybrid between the clarity of the Mate and the DSLR qualities of the 11 Ultra, so to me they are unbeatable especially at £680. Camera isn't perfect, no camera is (sorry for the spoiler Apple, Samsung and Google fans), binned raw on on the main sensor isn't great - Huawei gave us full res raw on all three lenses - that's something Honor could fix in an instant. Let's not beat around the bush, we all know that American Tech companies' shareholders were taking a hit because of Huawei's ever increasing market share, that's why they were banned - this is the 21st century, we can disassemble software and hardware very easily to trace any nefarious/malicious intent on the behalf of the manufacturer, not a single shred of evidence has been put forward.....wonder why? Value for money wise, and this is what you should be reporting, it cannot be touched.

      Was there any proof of it, or just US allegations and their fear of competition of their restricted tech (mobile chipsets). With reasons like backdoors that are common with IBM and other manufacturers for service/maintenance reasons. While google tracks users private internet data and used their data for ai which could pose a risk to the users data security

    • @brian_13
      @brian_13 6 місяців тому +1

      @@Z1nk_ I think the main reason is because China is a communist country and if they can collect data of the American people then they can study our likes and how we interact or react or where we stand on political things. It'll give them an opportunity to overthrow the US govt. By buying off political figures and creating movements that will disrupt American society even more. When it comes to Google they literally do collect data and they're fine with it because they work very close with Google. It all goes back to politics. But the UK also banned Huawei so I could only assume they really did find evidence. I'm sure those files are on the FBI declassified section.
