Thanks for the good videos . It nice to share the routes. Most riders are pretty good these days and respect the countryside and people they share it with. I've been riding off road for 25 years and it's always been a struggle to find new places. Keep up the great work . 😊
As a glasses and contact lense user I’ve found the best solution is using the armor vision smart film lens protector and then tucking a piece of microfibre cloth either in my pocket or wedging around the dash area of the bike to keep them reasonably clean plus using a paint balling mask anti misting fan inside the goggles to help with the steaming up along with a coating of rain x anti fog inside - I also spray some rain x rain repellant on the cloth that i clean the outside of the goggles with - looks a decent route that and thank you for posting
Thanks for the tip about the fan, that’s a new one. All the other stuff I’m doing, I’d say that’s the minimum starting point for most experienced riders. The misting isn’t really the problem, it’s the heavy rain, rip n roll doesn’t work then, cloths pointless because you’d be constantly wiping and losing time, although yeah always carry a chamois cloth. I’m beginning to think the only option is wear nothing at all and just get my eyes lasered
Great video mate, right on my doorstep. We are very lucky to have this just outside my door. If you want to come up again, give me a shout, and I could take you round. The gates are a pain on your own!
Found your video on Shropshire and Channel by accident (well UA-cam served it up). Thumbs up and subscribes. I moved to Morton near Oswestry from the home counties 2 years ago and love the lanes here, XR400 and Africa Twin. I havent done Long Mynd or south end of Shropshire (keep being drawn over Wayfarers into Wales). Your video spurs me on to head down. Like the style and enjoyed the watch. I'm glasses too...and riding in rain or humidity is a problem and haven't really found a solution personally. I'll start watching some of your other content now. And riding Offas Dyke, well that's added to my bucket list. Many thanks for all the effort. Stuart
Great video, we are regulars at the campsite in Bishops Castle. The town itself is worth a look around with some great pubs and of course the Three Tuns pub/brewery, highly recommended 👍
New subscriber here. Loving your vids as I am about to get my T7 soon. Hope to learn a few bits from vids on using my T7 for off-roading here in the UK
Forgot to say I run the LS2 helmet as well. Its set up with the camera and internal mike and is very comfortable and light although does get warm. My pinlock seems clear enough but the pins did snap off after 6 Months although they are easy to replace. It could do with a bit more airflow but like you, I keep a small gap at the bottom when on the lanes.
I ride this alone quite often and yeah there are a lot of gates when alone, it does get tiring but we dig in and enjoy the parts between :-) TBH I cannot believe how dry you got it - ha, i know these trails very well and i swear i have not ridden them dry once, every time last year even in the peak of summer i found rain and slop - sometimes torrents
@@twowheeledadventuresuk2739 it's a funny little climb, claggy when wet but also oddly grippy, most get sketched out and fail when they see it after the fork which makes it seem impossible but so long as you keep going there's enough stone to use Gopro as always NOT showing what is reality, good video by the way
@@ogasi1798 It's always the wet tree roots the annoy me, hit them at the wrong angle when they are wet and you're ejected straight out of the seat! 👌🤨😂
Great video mike, has a glasses wearer its a real pain this time of year. I’ve got just a prescription frames which has ears on the top and bottom that fit inside my goggles still steams but clears quickly. Thanks for sharing the route appreciated 👍🏻 and a big UP to the people’s front of Judaea😂😂😂
Ive got some new Fox Vue goggles mate, work really well with my glasses and the iridium looking lens is good in low light, been very good so far. I find as long as you're moving it's ok, it's just the slow speed stuff that can be a pain. Cheers dude!
Was chatting with a guy about these before the race, he gave me some info on where he got his. But the problem I see (or maybe not) is you end up in the same place. The glasses aren't really the problem, so seeing with goggles on isn't the issue, it's seeing in the piss pouring rain without goggles on. Everyone at some point was taking their goggles off because they couldn't see due to mud on them, even guys using rip n roll film type goggles, which I tried in the race and it didn't help. So it seemed the best thing to do was ride without anything, but if you wear glasses then it's the same as goggles, eventually they get so wet and muddy you can't see, and once you take them off it's game over
Would you say that route is a bit to much for the heavier bikes? I'm wondering if it would be to hard for the Tuareg. Looks a great route. I did a Cwms Lane in the jeep a few years back and need to get back to Shropshire, if not on the Tuareg though maybe the quad.👍🏻
If you're a good rider with the right tyres its not too bad, but the gates are hard with with a 130kg bike, it adds up during the day all the pushing and heaving - if there was a few of you then not so bad. The hill at Upper Hatfield near Hopton is gonna be the tricky bit, but you can easily just ride down hill and avoid if it gets too much
@@patrickmaloney6440 yes I have, just didn't get on with them. Chatting with guys at the races they often have issues with them bouncing out because of the aggressive courses, they certainly do work for some but not everyone
@@twowheeledadventuresuk2739 I wear daily disposables for sports in general and am yet to have an issue even on MTB multi day stage races like the Cape Epic/Swiss Epic (always carry a spare tho in my camelback) including when not wearing glasses due to mud/dirt/dust/sweat
I’ve got an Africa twin and a crf250 rally and after watching your videos, I want to trade them both in for a 450l. Does the fact there not sold anymore, give you any hassle?
General parts etc isn't an issue, has many common parts with other CRFs, but getting things like an IMS fuel tank, ECU or the mini fairing can be hard to find. I have bought the odd bits from the US, but just the cheaper stuff that won't we affected by taxes. For a while I thought the 450L was the only bike I needed but I was using it so much I decided to get a T7 for the simpler stuff I do, help keep the miles down on the CRF.

Hi Mike. Really enjoyed that pal, some great lanes. Lovely to see the CRF on some knarley stuff as well. 👍

Great video 👍🏻 downloaded gpx as about to get a CRF250, but m not farm from Bishop Castle, near Bridgnorth.
Thanks for this, it’s on my doorstep but I’d ignored it because it wasn’t on the TET. Thanks for the GPX, I’ll give it a whirl.
Are contact lenses not an option? They are my saviour.
Love it Mike... living the dream.
Cheers dude 👍
About a hour from mine thanks for the file can’t wait to try it
Joys of gates - same here in the Peak - just get going and then there’s a ruddy gate
I did a lovely big bike route last week in Essex, 100 miles of quality lanes and not one gate, it was blissful! 🤦♂️👍✌️
