Those beds look nice and the price can’t be beat! We made our own out of wood and galvanized , about 27” tall. We made them taller not because of what we’re growing, but because as we age, we don’t want to have to bend down to plant and harvest. Raised beds really are the best of all worlds for most people.
Hi Dawn! I agree with the bending over thing. I can't bend well. But the taller beds are so hard to fill for some people, and expensive. I feel like these beds are a good entry to the taller ones though. Someday I'd like to have them at hip height for me. I almost broke my back and neck in an accident. The bending is killing me.
@@ourbackyardgarden yes! Filling them was work-we did fill with logs on the bottom and soil/compost on top. It was expensive and a huge job. Your garden looks just beautiful! Love your videos.
My oldest Amazon raised beds were purchased in 2019, and are in as good a shape as the day I assembled them. I have eleven galvanized raised beds. none of them have so much as a single spot of rust.
Hi Leigh, I have been enjoying all your videos. I just wanted to let you know that I bought 2 of those exact raised beds 2 years ago & I love them! In fact I’m going to order 2 more. They have held up great!!
Hi Sherry thank you so much for watching. We love hearing from subscribers 😍 thank you! I have to say, I didn't expect much with these beds but hoped for the best. I couldn't be happier, they are my favs! My tomatoes did great in them, and flowers too ❤
Arrrgh, Matey them strawberries thought they were sinking and jumped ship😂. They look great! For us we are in the country and years ago we used reclaimed corrugated to make 2 beds. Not gorgeous but rustic. Since then we get reclaimed wood to just outline the in ground rows. The wood tends to last longer in arid gardens like mine. We got out of severe drought level one notch and storms rolling through all weekend starting tomorrow night. That may just get us another notch to abnormally dry on the drought monitor. Peas and sweet peas both germinated at the same time 💃👏🏼👏🏼. We are finally getting warm again. It’s been a long cold spell.
Hi and what a great channel. Im a retired engineer in metal, some 52 yrs qualified and new galvanised steel is shiny and bright which shows its good, also when galvanized goes duller, thats good too and you could paint it at this stage if you wanted but no need as galvanized steel is good for about 25yrs on its own as long as its not getting scrached up or bent etc. New subscriber here. Regards from UK
Have you done a lead test on the raised beds? I've heard that some internationally sourced steel and paint product from these raised beds can be contaiminated.
@@anujbhatia3337 Hi please note galvanized is not paint, its cleaned steel sheet thats dipped in a bath of molten zinc, good stuff if the process is done correctly!

Hi John 👋 welcome 😊
Hi Leigh,
So when I buy mine, I'm going to wax them when I buy mine.
Looks great!
Hopefully we're done with this frost !!
That's interesting what kind of wax?
@ourbackyardgarden I'm not sure, I'm going to research it.
@@brad4527 it sounds like a good idea

@@anujbhatia3337 no we have not, but I can understand you're concern.

Weird. My initial comment can't be found. Anyway, great review 😊
Sometimes I see a comment, go to reply, and the comment is gone. Hmm....
