I'm someone that always has his doubts when someone yells plagiarism or copycat. Just like with the Finebros. They were trying to shut channels down that were reacting to stuf. But that isn't an original concept. With this however. There is a distinct way Steven Suptic makes his videos. Freeze frames with a shutter going off, grey filter, style of comedy, yellow subs, sarcastic narration..... it's obvious IGN copied the shit out of it. The argument that they are copying Arrested Development is an insult to the intelligence of their viewers. AD has a different style. Never saw freeze frames like these on AD. IGN has become a truly cancerous site over the years. You can clearly tell they are struggling.
Technically I don't see how you can claim a way of editing to your own, it's a style, it's too vague, like if edgar wright copyrighted fast cut exposition sequences every vlogger in the world will be dead. I figure it's like video game where anyone can take the concept and the form but you have to make your own content and twist inside of it, so that it feels different even know it's basically the same : splatoon, call of duty, bf3. IGN tried and they failed because the content was not good enough so that the form disappeared inside of it. It's suck like how sonic super star racing feels like a weaker mario kart, but can se say that they're not aloud to make "racing game with cartoonish character fighting each other with special power while they try to beat the 1 to 8 other player for 1 to 3 laps" ? But frankly tho, fuck IGN, hail skinny chicken booooooy

I mean, the freeze frame narration isn't stolen. Its the tone, performance, and comedy that is mimic'd. I have seen many TV shows and documentaries do similar freeze frame style narration from first person and not the god view.
IGN has been known for copying other peoples content, taken directly from a news video from Philip Defranco, he said that IGN copied a video from i think it was IJustine where she played the Nintendo Switch in zero gravity. One month after IGN posted a video of two girls playing the Nintendo Switch in zero gravity... but you know it's because both people wanted to play Nintendo Switch in zero gravity I guess.
I think the only fair way for Rory to win respect is to go through an 80's martial arts movie-style tournament where he must defeat all members of Sugarpine 7.With James Water Warrior skills it will be impossible but he still must try to redeem himself.
This is an interesting development, I did not see the "evil clone" trope coming into play this far in the Office Space Arc, can't wait to see what happens next
You seem to be taking this a lot better than most of your viewers. I won't jump down IGN's throat for using your editing style because once a style is out there people are likely to copy it, especially if it gains popularity (i.e. Casey Neistat's vlogging style). But the least they could have done was own up to the fact that they were influenced by your videos.
The whole situation is shitty and IGN should just own up to what they did and not make excuses, but big props to Suppy for handling it like this! I really hope this obstacle course happens!

Good call on using the obstacle course. It's one of the most tried and tested ways to resolve this type of conflict.
