The Gotland achievement definitely seems like it could have been fun if Paradox had bothered to test it even one time, however I think it could be solved if the fleeing to Gotland event also gave the communists one of those "AI focus on offense" things, to actually get them to try to push
the big problem is that, as you said, they didnt test it. try it with finland and go fascist and go to for the civil war, take all the decisions to have "10% land and generals and some units (you dont get any units)" its literally worthless to take the decisions but you have to because otherwise AI somehow gets more units than finland at the start of the game. its untested garbage.
The thing that saves me in the MIO achievement (that I got in 1947...yay) was in the bottom left of the MIO screen you can set the funding level. There is a 10% funding buff that makes go quicker.

To be honest, fleeing to Gotland for a game like HOI4 is actually more broken than most people think. You won’t capitulate after all of your mainland territories are captured. How many nations won’t capitulate if their entire mainland is captured? This one. You have the option of pulling all of your armies to a small island that isn’t your mainland and fortifying it for defense. Incredible defensive capabilities. Plus you have the option of a random leadership buff each game which is an added bonus. Yeah you could get bad ones but it could never be too much of a problem plus they’re different each game and you have the chance to have amazing bonuses. If you play your cards right, the fleeing to Gotland option could be set up for you to be an unkillable opponent which is kinda broken.
You should make a return to Old World Blues (The fallout mod) for Nostalgia November, it's had a lot more new content added, if you would like a recommendation I'd suggest either MacArthur or The Brotherhood of Steel as they've changed massively since you last played.
After Romanov Poland and the Papal States I was disappointed this DLC didn't have any halfway decent hidden content. I guess this kinda counts but it's basically just Monarchist Sweden: Bad Edition.

I think something that could help with tactically getting mio levels higher for that achievement is to pick a country (probably one of the new ones, since they're designed around the new system) that does the most with upgrading company size via the focus tree, and then holding off on said focuses. If I understand it correctly, they work in the same way general levelling works, so if you had a theoretical focus that increased a general's level by two, would you want to get it when he's level 1, or level 8? level 8, because getting a general from level 1 to 3 by yourself is easy, getting one from level 8 to 10 takes hours of real time. Hopefully I'm not rambling, and you pick up what I'm trying to say. As a historically neutral nation like Sweden, you wouldn't have to actually worry about defense, and could simply put all of your industry into making funds for a company.

What achievement is that? And really I’ve played finland a lot in this new update and it seems like they are specifically programmed to not naval invade as they’ve never done it to me despite having naval supremacy
@xgcsurreal2608 hey its never lose a core territory before 1944. That's so weird cause i had a TON of naval invasions (5+) I found they started in 1942
@xgcsurreal2608 there is a small island that is demilitarized in the very beginning that you HAVE to watch out for because if you don't garrison they will take it easy
The Swedish CW is easy because you can just encircle all of the communist troops and overrun them while holding the event and only choosing the Gotland proposal when you're about to walk into their capital
Still have to wait out the year. I did it through the Buy/Sell exploit where you can cancel your contracts. Left just enough military to hold the line, and then recruited and sent trucks through the gap their line had and rushed their major VPs. Still had to wait about 300 days for the debuff to drop and the achievement to fire.
I have this one but my gosh is it convoluted. I guess Paradox wanted to drop in some spicy secret pathways which we all love, but to make it an ACHIEVEMENT?
