For people who are watching this in the US, this looks like a comparison between the 2017 GT and the 2020 Reserve. In short, the 2017 GT will be a better deal cause you can generally find those for around $20k used nowadays with less than 50k miles on them while still having 90% of the features that the 2020 reserve has.

You should pick the 2017 GT vs 2020 Signature because they are the high end models in their year. I have 2017 gt but deer accidentslly hit the car and insurance totalled the car and now i have the 2020 signature and i really love it same as my 2017 gt. I choose mazda cx5 because they are reliable and never gave me a negative feedback for the years i drove with my 3 years 2017 gt. Anyway you did a good job for comparing the two cars. Keep it up!

We have a 2013 CX-5 Grand Touring, 2015 Touring, and 2018 Touring. All have a backup camera but the 2018 has a better video screen- see a Scotty Kilmer video about adding an aftermarket backup camera to an older vehicle, especially for vehicles with poor back visibility. The 2.0 liter engine revs more and causes the transmission to shift more, probably for less reliability. See the savagegeese videos- the newer CX-5 front suspension is the best. It is nice to have vehicle monitoring in the side mirrors and heated seats. The Mazda fake leather is good, the CX-5 is on the most recent Car & Driver 10Best list, and it is on last year's Consumer Reports top ten list for reliability. For my test drives, the CX-5 had the best steering, transmission and looks. The Subaru Crosstrek had the best brake feel. For engineering, I am most attracted to a Kia Niro hybrid, however it is not as fun to drive or as safe as the CX-5, and the reliability is more unknown compared to the uglier Prius.

Just bought a new 2020 CX-5 Touring AWD. Love that all the safety features that used to only be available on the highest trims are now standard. The 2.5L in sport mode is pretty peppy and sounds great. The new wheels are much more premium looking in my opinion.

@@enriqueruiz5492 the Hyundai Tucson was my second choice. It seems average for everything, with a long warranty and a lot of features for the price. The Subaru Crosstrek has the best brake feel, however the mid-level model is missing some features, I do not need all wheel drive, and the engine and CVT transmission might not be long term reliable. Also, it seemed too slow during normal takeoff after a stoplight.

Ok there was no Turbo in 2017 and the 2020 Turbo is an additional trim not a replacement for the 2017 engine. They are still selling the same 2017 engine in today’s 2020 non turbo CX5.

Thank you for a true 2020 Signature CX-5 turbo video illustrating the new larger display. Also the comparison in detail as opposed to the 2017 is great as well overall.
Can you confirm that the 2020 signature has retained the auxiliary audio input?
The aux input sadly has been dropped on the new overhauled 3 since last year so I'm sure when the overall system is updated including better quality 360 camera views and other features found in the latest generation Mazda 3 that the aux jack will be lost when the CX 5 is updated but hopefully the aux jack remains on the signature for 2020 (I know it's on non signature models that still have the 7" display as they are in stock locally but we cannot find any turbo 2020 models to check locally as of yet as all dealers in the US is appears only still have 2019 Signatures in stock and the 2020 turbo models are still not available though plenty of non turbo 2020s are available and we've seen on the non turbo wind stickers that the aux jack is included on the 2020 non turbo models so again we're wondering if any of the new display updates on the 2020 signature included removing the aux as it was removed on the Mazda 3.
BTW the reason we want the aux jack so badly is because it's a pain to play music via Android Auto or Apple car play for that fact because we have Android phones with audiophile quality headphone jack outputs which work great with car stereos featuring an auxiliary audio input. We can simply plug in the aux cable and enable out phones high quality DAC for much better sounding audio than allowing Android Auto or car play (on my work iPhone) to decode the audio.
Plus using the aux cable doesn't require any additional software nonsense it's quick plug and play and doesn't charge your battery as does plugging in the USB cable for Apple car play or Android auto (constantly charging, topping off a phone's battery isn't ideal for battery life and in phones which now we can no more replace the battery that's key).
Anyway thanks again and I hope 2020 CX-5 signature models have retained the auxiliary audio input jack following the new larger 2020 display update.

Going from a compact sedan it was an easy transition plus I was able to get more added features and lower kms for the price, I also found it more comfortable. This is the best selling Mazda in the world. Keep in mind that Mazda has no premium badge unlike Honda or Toyota therefore they put their innovations into the top Grand Touring models without the high end badge prices.
Anyone who has been in a high end modern Mazda knows that you are in a premium car without the price of a Lexus or Acura.

@@Alberto-qf7zh Cylinder deactivation in these Mazda CX-5’s is that when you are costing on the highway the engine will turn off two of its cylinders. Meaning the car is only running on two of its four cylinders which causes a lot of strain on the engine, which leads to engine failure in the future, mind you it’s suppose to save you gas, but only about a mile or two which is a waste. Apparently GM tried this technology years ago and it failed just like other car makers. I know the CX5’s have a recall for that particular reason. I know the turbo models don’t have the this feature and have more horsepower than the naturally aspirated four cylinder models.
