    History:- From Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repeati...)
    The repeating crossbow (Chinese: 連弩; pinyin: Lián Nǔ), also known as the repeater crossbow, and the Zhuge crossbow (Chinese: 諸葛弩; pinyin: Zhūgě nǔ, also romanized Chu-ko-nu) due to its association with the Three Kingdoms-era strategist Zhuge Liang (181-234 AD), is a crossbow invented during the Warring States period in China that combined the bow spanning, bolt placing, and shooting actions into one motion.
    The earliest archaeological evidence of the repeating crossbow is found in the state of Chu, but it uses a pistol grip that is different from the later and more commonly known Ming dynasty design.
    Although the repeating crossbow was in use throughout most of Chinese history until the late Qing dynasty, it was generally regarded as a non-military weapon suited for women, defending households against robbers, and even hunting.
    Hello all and welcome to another video in this video I will show you how to make a mini repeating crossbow. I am using popsicle sticks for making the bow(15x17x1.6mm). Pop sticks are cut using a 1610 mini CNC with a 2w laser attachment. You can cut it by hand, but I am lazy and I want precision so I used laser cutting. Templates will be available for all the channel members( / @bibinsagaram .
    Thanks for watching the video see you next time!

    They have one for sale on _Alixp_ but imo it seems to have a very low draw force for its size, while this one has an optimized size for its power. My mini xbow pistols are smaller but not repeating (yet). What amazes me the most about your version, is that the wooden bow still held up just fine after all those tests. Very nice video.

    • @bibinsagaram
      @bibinsagaram  Рік тому +2

      Thanks a lot. I was also amazed by how the wood held up. I have fired more than 300+ bolts so far and it's still going strong. String broke at around 100 rounds, since it was rubbing too much. So I polished the surface and put some silicon grease. Now it looks like l can get more life from the string.

      @@bibinsagaram try using fishing line with oil (or bowstring wax if you prefer) for greater durability, less friction gives better results.

    What's the point of using cheap popsicle sticks if you're going to use a laser cutter and other tools that cost thousands of dollars?

    • @bibinsagaram
      @bibinsagaram  10 місяців тому

      That laser cutter is 200usd. wood is wood.I just wanted a thin sheet of wood, the easy way was to use a pop stick. For this you don't need a laser cutter also. You can cut each part by hand. It will take longer that's it.
