The M2 flamethrower was an American man-portable backpack flamethrower that was used in World War II. It was the successor to the M1 and M1A1 flamethrowers. Although its burn time was only around 7 seconds and the flame was only effective out to around 20-40 meters, it was still a useful weapon. However, with the arrival of flamethrower tanks, the need for flamethrower-carrying infantrymen to expose themselves to enemy fire was greatly reduced.(Source : en.wikipedia.o...)
We have three tanks on the M2 flame thrower, two fuel and one air tank. For making the tanks I am going to use 12 g CO2 capsules. They has to be cut short to make them to scale. I am used the marker pen body along with some epoxy to join back the two half's. Make sure that the material you are using to build the flamethrower is not affected by the fuel. Many organic materials will lose there strength in contact with a solvent(fuel).
Air and fuel lines for the flamethrower is made from brass and soldering is used to join them. Some of the brass tubes are salvaged from old radio antenna. Before bending the brass tubes it is annealed and filled with PLA plastic. Plastic will avoid collapsing of the pipe(For bigger pipes water is filled and freezed. Filling with wax is also an option). For soldering, parts are cleaned with sandpaper. Then solder and flux is applied followed by heating it with a butane torch. Individual joints are checked for leak.
Epoxy is used to connect air pipe and fuel pipe to the tanks.
