Extremely useful and well presented... had some scratches on a propeller on mine... this helped to solve my doubts on how to install a new prop. Congrats on the great presentation!
I had a couple of those tiny $15 drones. I remember the first time I replaced the propeller, I didn't pay attention. When I started the drone back up, I was scratching my head why it was freaking out. :)
Sure... There isn't much to tell. The CS rep told me to let the drone hover... I was explaining to the CS Rep that it was drifting a bit... they said to let it hover a bit longer... It drifted into a wall. They are sending me a replacement drone now.
Thank you so much! The motor caps might be useful in cold scenerios to warm up the motors faster. Or keep out some moisture if you get caught in a rainstorm. Any weight you add will affect the drones flight behavior. This from a guy that straps cameras on drones...Ha I think an extended landing gear or ND filters would serve more purpose than motor caps.
Another great video on this awesome little drone. You are becoming the go to UA-camr on the Anafi. Hopefully you see an uptick on views with all the holiday sales on the Anafi this year. Hope to see more from you on the Anafi. The more people that see how good this drone is, the more competition gets pushed on DJI. Then maybe we can start seeing some more reasonable prices and get DJI to address their horrific customer support.
I appreciate that! I love the ANAFI! I really hope they add a feature like Sphere mode on the DJI's... The upward facing camera will blow my DJI Mavic Air out of the water.
One of my anafi's propellers (original) broke after 14 hours of use. I analyzed it using a stereomicroscope and found that it broke due to fatigue. I also discovered that another four blades already had fatigue cracks in progress. All cracks appeared at the top of the tube, opposite the blade.
Wow... That is some incredible detective work. I have over 100 flights on the blades that I am flying with currently. They are OEM and I believe they are the replacement blades that came with the ANAFI.
@@ShawnFoxhorn Maybe it's time to change the propellers. Considering that they are fatigue cracks, the flight time is the main parameter to be observed. If you can, inspect the propellers, but the fatigue cracks are very difficult to find, as they remain closed as long as there are no efforts.
Hi Shawn, Thanks for sharing this great video! I checked my Anafi propellers which have marks and numbers. The A propeller has a mark and a number: 4, and the B propeller has a mark and a number: 1. Do yours also have those marks and numbers on each propeller? Do you know what the meaning of that? Thank you!
Interesting... I just pulled my ANAFI out and my blades say 1 and 3... I have no idea what that means. Maybe it has to do with the assembly line of mold used to make them. Good catch and thanks for watching!
One thing that should be mentioned is that very often, even if you screw them with the same strength, one or two blades will not move as freely as the others. That does not mean you should unscrew them a bit cause this will cause the drone to lose propellers and crash.
You should do a 12 Days of Christmas with Drones. Show like the best deals, and your top picks. I did similar for Costco, BJ's and Lowes for Kitchen and Gadgets, it was fun.
@@ShawnFoxhorn I know I've looked at those BJs, Costco and Home Depot big $70 Drones. My brother got one and I am waiting to see how it is. Obviously I would love a $400--1000 Drone setup, but I don't see myself using it often, so value and features are good to me. Plus ones that have upgrade action cameras, gimbals, etc. so one could throw their $40 camera now, and a better one later. Anyway, just a thought. :)
I recently had a crash and apart from a blade I also lost the screw. Does anyone know if there are screws included in the spare kit available in the Parrot shop? Thx in advance.
Parrot has the worst customer service! My Anafi tipped over out of my hands at around 12 inches off the ground They replaced yours after crashing it into a wall but basically sent me packing and offered no help at all in resolving camera and sd car malfunctions errors that I have been having prior to this. Buyer beware.
How old is your drone? Is it still under warranty and we’re you flying it? They replaced mine from a hardware malfunction. I don’t think dropping it on the ground is covered.
@@ShawnFoxhornthe Anafi less than a year old. I presume it's under warranty with parrot. I purchased from another reailer. It was in my hand I was not flying it. But flying it into was wall is? That makes no sense. My problems are not caused by dropping it. They are using the tipping over as an excuse to blow me off.
Thanks Shawn, very helpful.

Do you think we should dip the tip of the screw with blue thread lock?
Yes for sure I just had a prop fly off at 60 ft
I think
Is that the same for b do the arrows point in another direction Sean Thanks
Thanks for showing us how to change the props.
You are welcome!
Excellent instructions
Thank you!

Ha... did you put the blades on the wrong corner? I've done that. The drone just did a rapid backflip on takeoff.
@@ShawnFoxhorn It was just one corner. It was doing weird things. lol
Can you explain further why it crashed in the first place? Thanks!

Shawn Ide Studios mine drifts too indoors but only in bad lighting
Yeah... I think if I let it hover a bit higher, it would have relied more on the GPS than the camera on the bottom.
Is there thread lock on the prop screws?
I heard that stability is increased when you let the IMU warm up vs. launching it immediately. Stability will increase during flight as the IMU warms.
Nice video thank you! Do you think the motor caps are worth using?

In the original assembly, the manufacturer used a blue thread lock on the propeller bolts (probably loctite 242)
