I have been taken off guard and surprised by youtube subscribers wanting to donate to help me develop my property here. My belief is that such wonderful gestures shouldn’t be shunned in any way. Can you imagine you refusing to open your presents at Christmas?
Some have asked how they can donate to my off-grid adventure. You can send any amount you wish via paypal to: Ibwonet1@gmail.com

Thanks so much for the lovely welcome! Cheers! - Don
I love watching Homesteaders etc and your channel popped up. I find it fascinating as I realize there are many people, young and old looking for affordable living! We are 75 and 81 and love UA-cam over TV! Will start from the beginning to see your whole year! God Bless You!
Wow Sherry! I am so encouraged you want to watch a ton of my videos! I agree youtube is tons more fun than TV. I don't even have a TV here in my cabin. But I DO have super fast internet.
Don, we're so glad to have discovered your channel and really enjoy your positive attitude!
I am so warmed by your comments and delighted to have you here on my channel Mulberry Farms! Thanks so much! New video coming out this weekend!
I can live in the chicken coop, for a while, as long as I own a piece of land like yours.
Beautiful views and life style.!!!!!!
Thanks so encouraging Enamorado! Thank you for such lovely comments! I am very very fortunate.
Me too.
Hello from Spain. The view is amazing ❤❤❤
Definitely beautiful here. Thanks for watching all the way from Spain.
Pop up shower/bathroom tent with rechargeable USB shower head/attached pump is your next step. Thanks for sharing.
Great recommendation! Have already graduated to a "cowboy shower" Heated black bag with shower nozzle. Yours sounds a lot more high tech!
@@affordabledesertliving3487 Hey, are you still happy with the Emerson Shed size/layout with hardware cloth underneath? OR would you have changed somethings about it from the dealer?
@ Love love my warm little Emerson shed. Wouldnt do anything different. No hardware cloth underneath. Check out the video where I insulate the underside of it. I dont think they make this style anymore. I think they have gone to all metal sheds. That said they might make one on request. You would have to check them out.
@@affordabledesertliving3487 Many thanks for that, Don. Arizona Adam did something with an all metal shed BUT I'd like to buy from Emerson Sheds as they have the right values and workmanship, plus great customer service. May you hear and see many birds today my old neighbor from San Rafael! Yes, SF Bay here. Bought in 2019, but still trying to get things in order to move. Life gets in the way sometimes as you know. Much happiness and health to you
Great views! And hot water on demand!
Thanks very much for watching. Yep the views are fantastic.
Congratulations on receiving your tiny home. Looking forward to seeing you make it cozy for yourself.
Thanks Matilda! Love having you here!
Hi so you are on your way now. Lovely little home. Take care.
Thanks for watching James. Love your comments.
Beautiful tiny home Don. What if you dug down 2-3 feet, then build a foundation 4' up. Jack up the cabin and slide it over the foundation or build under it. Then you have a sort of cold cellar. Get LED lights under there and a couch or hammock. When it gets hot, you can hang out there for those few hot hours. And use it to store cans of food or whatever, with a 6' ceiling from 2' down and 4' up.
Extremely imaginative and very creative suggestion! I will be putting it on a foundation in a few weeks actually. It will remain the same height so I can reach gutters and other roof repairs easily,. Once solar is hooked up I will also run a mini split to keep things nice and cool. Thanks for watching FireShine4567. Great to have you here!
Personally, all I want is a place with roof so I can stay and live in that is all it matters. I just love to live away from the crowded city life. Living out there and being surrounded by the nature is the most wonderful way to live for me. I love the nature, love the animals around ( I don't mean for meat but by watching them) really make me feel peaceful. Grow some vegetables and fruits trees for fruits to eat and they provide you some shades that will be wonderful. That is a real living to me !!!
This is indeed a blessing being here even though with challenges at times like any other lifestyle.
What a lovely tiny house! I will put this on a parcel in AZ once I decided to bought one
I love mine Marie but I did lots of research on permits before purchasing it. It's currently considered just a shed which is permitted if its 200sq ft or less. It will not be my main building but eventually be zoned as a mother in law unit which is permissible under Cochise County. So before you get too serious learn all about Coconino County regulations if that is the area you want to settle. Also remember that Coconino area can be cold with snow during winter! Hope that helps!
Hi Don! Haley here from RPS Solar Pumps! Absolutely LOVE your channel and videos.
Haley thanks so much for helping me today. You can tell your supervisors that you are the eptiome of what one hopes for when you call for information on a product or company. So glad you love the channel ! Who let the pumps out!!! Woof Woof!
well don Don from a crazy canuck looking south
Thanks a lot DR Miles. What province are you from?
Congratulations! You will love it. I've live in small spaces for the past 5 years and it's very pleasant.
tony okrongly. Very thankful for this building.
Glad you have a place to call home now!
Yep one gorgous place thats for sure!
Under the cottage looks like a nice cool spot for the snakes to hang out!!!😂
Would be except for mrs and mr roadie patrol that area including all the way under the building, thoroughly. They wouldnt last long.
This would have been some day! Out of the tent and into a sweet little cottage. Love the front door - it will look so nice with the porches you could even hang hummingbird feeders from the porch that way you can have views of all kinds of good stuff (mountains, hummingbirds… ) Great day Don and congratulations on this big achievement. Glad you didn’t fall over with the bath water.
So fun to have you here Bec Sharing this great adventure of my retirement and my beautiful property. Yes this very morning I was watching lots of hummingbird battles. The bigger tougher Anna‘s hummingbird is migrating through making life miserable for the dainty little black chins. Yes porches will be fantastic on this building. I was thinking maybe even Harry and Lynn might find this interesting. Only because it’s here in North America and so different than Aus
Sure looks like an adventure Don and love your sense of humour along the way. Mum and dad would indeed enjoy the videos they have never used UA-cam before but I will try to get them hooked up with your fascinating story. I’m looking forward to seeing more!!
@@rebeccasansonvandyk5664 No matter what tell Harry and Lyn I said hi Bec!

It's too soon for a chicken coop.!!!
Yes rather just go to the farmers market a short drive for me a way and buy my own eggs and support local business!
Wow, you are a very lovely man! I hope you enjoy every moment of your life there, or what ever you decide to do!
What a heart warming comment! Just so kind Ah Jodie. So delighted you came by to watch my videos. Cheers!

Welcome aboard! Don. Great name by the way.. grin. Lots of videos coming I hope they are useful.
Even if someone cant handle raw land living there's places in most small towns that would be suitable for smaller downsized life style ..life is what we make it for the most part...time to enjoy the freedom ...
@@donjones4654 Don the problem is that in town you cannot get a permit for a small cottage in most areas. There is a mandatory size requirement for homes in most places throughout the USA. Many years ago no. Now the rules have changed to force people to buy large homes. Unless its an accessory dwelling unit. ADU. But these have to be married with a big home. A tough situation for those on a budget.
Congratulations.!! Big step # 48 is done,, what is next.?
Getting the shed liveable. Steps up in next video!
So excited to see your property develop. Great to see small insulated building already on site. You have a home! Congratulations!

@@affordabledesertliving3487 I’m 65 this month. I’m just like you, grew up when library cards were king and you hoped your encyclopedia set wasn’t too outdated. Telephones were connected to walls and online security was a short telephone cord with parental ears listening. I love access to information but I still regularly put my phone down and go do something productive. UA-cam is my encyclopedia set now, lol! The best thing I learned in college was how to do research on my own and educate myself on the topic du jour.

I look forward to your videos and seeing the progress of your little homestead. My husband and I are looking for land similar to what you've got there. Do you have any recommendations for land sales sites in your area?
Judy all the best on your land search. It can be a bit daunting but compared to super costly areas like California where I came from there is still tons of potential here. But this is a limited time in history I believe. Folks hungry for affordable land will eventually drive the price up astronomically in just a few years I predict. Mine is similar to this one from homes depot for almost 2 k but I will check Emerson Shed thank you also friend there are so showering options I want to send you very cheap portable showers that because hot on Amazon you can bring them with you and set up a tent just like a disclosed shower I will look for your email address.
Thanks for watching. Respectfully I would be very surprised Home Depot would offer a 10x20 shed for $2000. That price usually reflects a much smaller building. Also having checked out Home Depot I was very disenchanted with the construction. Emerson sheds are not even in the same league when it comes to quality. I now have a solar shower which is basically a black plastic camping shower which works great! Thanks very much for your thoughtful reply.
Great journey you are on!! Any future plans like clearing land ,driveway install or workshop?
Jeff I have dreamed of this since a youngster. I had no idea that retirement would end up being so blessed! Thanks for watching! Land is all cleared for the cottage as you could see. Behind it is a clearing for a 16x40 main big cottage to happen depending on finances. Otherwise I will leave the land as is as wildlife habitat. It's rich with Deer, road runners, and some rare species of birds. I already have my dirt driveway in place. It will show up better later on probably in other vids. I will do a tent workshop like Bill and Yvonne at the Upside of Downsizing. Thanks for your great questions Jeff!
Yea its really built nicely i would be wored with snake 🐍 finding new home under it...
Bryan definitely a consideration for sure. It's a tall building set up about 24" so lots of airy space underneath. That means my friendly Roadrunner literally patrols right under neath it. Really bad day if you are a rattlesnake and you encounter "roadie". Before I do any work under the building I always check for reptiles none the less. It's kind of like making sure you dont stick a fork in a toaster while its plugged in etc. You get used to living in snake areas.
Ever hear of Bob CheapRVLiving? He didn't say good stuff about the Mr Buddy. Do you have trouble with yours? They need maintenance or something?
So I bought a pair of
Camco 57331 Olympian Wave-3 3000 BTU catalytic heaters. Two by accident, so I set Mom up with one in Newfoundland. She was worried about electrical outages. The other I run in my living room here in Sherbrooke, Québec when it gets zippy freezing.
They are not on Amazon anymore? (Gee, is this a bad thing? Mine have worked out awesome. And don't create a lot of humidity either.)
My Mr. Buddy Heater is a life saver and the most important piece of equipment I own on the property. Being warm and comfortable is paramount to keeping well and moving forward.
Cool
