If you listen to '50s rockabilly and are familiar with those tunes, maybe even tried to play those licks yourself, you will notice that everything Jeff plays here doesn't just come close but is totally authentic, he really nails it to perfection. On that show he just got back to where it all started for him. One of the most amazing guitar players who ever lived.
True, but Beck was also such an underrated bluesman for the first 40 years of his career. Funny, JM (that polyester bluestur) is still probably better known that Beck.
Thank you for playing the NOCASTER I made for you on train kept a rolling, there is no way Jeff would have known but the last tune I played on it before shipping it to Ralphs his manager was Train Kept a Rolling.. That is Magic. GOD BLESS YOU JEFF BECK I know im gonna see you Somewhere over the rainbow again..
Here's a lesson to you: Beckisms are exactly what make Beck. Just like Hendrixisms make J. Hendix and McLaughlinisms make J. McLaughlin... These "isms" make them distinguishable. If wasn't for that, any real great all-rounder, fast, demonically accurate and punctual expert-guitarist like Danny Gatton or Scotty Anderson would do just as well (or even better).
I couldn't agree more, playing stuff he played when he got his first guitar/s, instead of what's now, or sadly, was expected of him. If that makes any sense. I have taken alcohol....
Their will never be another guitar player like Jeff in my life time. He taught me so much about tone and technique. His passing left a big hole in my heart. RIP Jeff😢
Imagine teen aged Jeff in his bedroom practicing along with his record collection learning all of these licks. We grew up wanting to be Jeff Beck. He grew up wanting to be Gene Vincent.
Jeff is simply a multi-talent when it comes to rock music. He can play anything from 50' rock 'n roll to psychedelic music like he made it up. An exceptional guitarist.
"My little indulgence". Not only was Jeff extrarordinarily Talented, he was so, so humble. Jeff Beck's untimely passing was an enormous loss to the world of great music. We dearly miss this legendary, prolific, versatile artist who still had so much to give. GOAT without a doubt !
This was the 6th and extra Set of Jeff Beck residency @Ronnie Scott's with Darrel (Imelda May's Husband at the time)& Band killing it in a good way,I made it to the front row with my great friend David,RIP one and only Jeff Beck and David I'll miss you both forever this lifetime!
Genius Jeff Beck can play it all - Jazz, Rock, Swing, Rockabilly, Fusion. The man simply epitomises GREATNESS. I have listened to him daily way long before his passing. He is missed.
The Master Alchemist of the six string has moved on to another venue; rest easy JB, we'll keep listening to your unparalleled and incomparable work, forever ♾️
The Ronnie Scott video is one of my prized possessions. When I need inspiration I put this into my CD player and afterwords the guitar comes out. RIP Jeff
We'll never see a another Guitar Player who can play every single style and genre better than any other Player who ever lived. My Bucket List was complete when I saw Jeff Beck in Toronto 5 years ago.
Agreed, but if you haven't already, get hold of the Live at Ronnie Scotts DVD. It blows away anything else I've ever seen, and I've seen all the great ones.
Legend.. God Bless that Virtuoto!! He was one of a Kind and TBH I STILL cannot BELIEVE HES GONE! What a genius talent.. no one could ever replace him and THATS his legacy! Proper man.. 👍💪🎸☯️♾️😎🏴🇬🇧
Mister Versatility . . . Jeff Beck . . . a true artist in every sense of the word and a great human being to boot . . . thank you SO much for leaving us with your music and truly genius playing Jeff!
I have always loved Jeff Beck. Maybe not everything he did, but I surely understand he was groundbreaking in every way. Since his passing, I have been consuming as much as I can find, but when this popped up I was blown away once more. What an incredible talent. This short set is just amazing. Rest in Peace sir. You will certainly be missed. You will never be forgotten. You truly were one of one!
Wow! Two Jeff Beck shows at Ronnie Scotts- must’ve been a dream come true for the crowd there. So glad we have this footage and thank you for posting it up. RIP Jeff Beck ❤thank goodness we have your music which will live on forever 🎶🎶🙏🙏
First really great concert 1975 blow by blow with John McLaughlin in New York. There are so many great guitar players out there. Jeff was definitely one. So unique sound like a voice coming from his guitar rest in peace Will be missed❤
This is dynamite. No surprise Jeff could pull this off, though. He did write and play Jeff's Boogie back in the 60's. And when the Jeff Beck Group played it live they double-timed it for the last couple verses. Gotta give a shout out to the stand up bass work. Nothing like some great stand up bass to give rockabilly that extra boost.
Love train kept a Rollin, regularly played here by both Yardbirds and Johnny Burnette.. brilliant and in the place we saw Billy Cobham a few years ago.
Absolutely awesome performance by all the players here and the singing was fabulous. What a great treat for that oh so lucky audience, wow, that was amazing! Hard to believe we have lost Jeff, what terrific skill he had on the guitar and how we shall miss him performing for us. RIP Jeff, and thank you so much for the decades of music you have given us to remember you by.
sunboy1000 He'd have sounded even better if he had been given the chance to play lead guitar, but just as in the tribute to Les Paul, Jeff Beck relegates him to rhythm guitar - though anyone who knows what a truly phenomenal lead guitarist Darrel Higham is will know why Beck has him playing the rhythm guitar! Beck might be considered a guitar legend, but that's because he made his reputation when the music he was playing was popular, whereas Darrel Higham plays a style of music that had its heyday in the '50s so therefore isn't given any consideration regarding the fact that he's truly great guitar player, or is even known outside the world of rockabilly or as being the husband of Imelda May. He's the equal of Beck and then some!
Yes, Jeff plays those songs perfectly like Gallup did. He could do Gallup, Moore and Cochran stuff perfectly. If you listen to those old recordings you'll see that Jeff is a carbon copy of them exactly, note for note. That shows respect and I don't know any other guitarist that can do it exact like Jeff. He even uses the same equipment they used to have and you are hearing a time machine.
Wow this was so good. Not just Jeff showing how to play the rockabilly/blues music of his youth, but accompanied by some great musicians. I really enjoyed that 👍🍷
No improvisation liké g Jimi Hendrix live, It's so simple and monotony.. Some rockabilly whitout good guitar émotion and free feeling and good music...Mick Taylor was the master, Jimi Hendrix redoutable, Stevie Ray Monster of country music, Funk, rythm'blues, Soul music, hard Rock and, variety music liké Stelly Dan and commercial music liké bée-Gees etc To day Jeff Beck was variety musical, not original but very commercial... ,
Certainly one of the best guitarists ever and a very gifted musician. One of a kind. RIP And the Ronnie Scott club gig performances are one of his best recorded performances available. A must see and must hear for all Beck fans...and fans of great rock and roll. With Vinnie Caliuta and Tal Wilkenfeld. Excellent.
Watch that kick drum extra beat intro at 6:02, it was great, go in about 5:55 Jeff looked back and I don't think it was a mistake, these guys are unbelievable.
wow...BLOWN AWAY... watched Ronnie Scotts' but never saw this! Jeff using a pick again...RIP Jeff and thank you for sharing your unique interpretation of guitar mastery!
Wow! Halfway into this I realized this is actually just before the "Live at Ronnie Scott's" show began, one of the same nights!! Jason is on keyboards on both.....I knew the lighting was the same, and his amp is in the same spot. He did this, then took a break, and then did THAT!! I've been watching the "Live at Ronnie Scott's" DVDs for years and never knew he had just played all of this before, the same night!! If you've not seen it, watch it after this and WOW! JEFF BECK was such a unique player who will be greatly missed....✌️🙏

Jeff's "little indulgence " was a everyone else's huge experience. Pure magic set right there.
Pure 50's Rock n Roll. Darrel is so under-rated
True, but Beck was also such an underrated bluesman for the first 40 years of his career. Funny, JM (that polyester bluestur) is still probably better known that Beck.
For me he is not underrated. Because of him, musicians like Bill Haley will not be forgotten.
Darrell is an incredible rockabilly guitar player too - pound for pound, maybe better singer/player than Setzer
@@martizzy oi, steady on , I've seen Seltzer/Stray Cats and Darrel, and he's damn good, but not Setzer.
@@JohnnyRocker2162 I think they’re saying they like him better as a singer, a matter of taste. Setzer is on a different planet of guitar skill.
Thank you for playing the NOCASTER I made for you on train kept a rolling,
there is no way Jeff would have known but the last tune I played on it before shipping it to Ralphs his manager was Train Kept a Rolling.. That is Magic. GOD BLESS YOU JEFF BECK I know im gonna see you Somewhere over the rainbow again..
Amazing how Jeff plays straight without any of his classic Beckisms, serious talent right there.
This is what a lot of people didn’t know about him. Always knew where the roots of the music were and connected with them cosmically and naturally.

Jeff was a consumate professional
@@simonkeyse8185, playing stuff he played when he was making his own guitars because he couldn't afford a 'real' one.
RIP Mr Jeff Beck….my god what a beautiful guitar player he was!
Their will never be another guitar player like Jeff in my life time. He taught me so much about tone and technique. His passing left a big hole in my heart. RIP Jeff😢
THE BEST 23MINUTES I'VE EVER HAD OUT OF 64YEARS OF MY LIFE TIMELESS CLASSIC MUSIC 🎶 🎵 RIP GOD BLESS YOU 🙌 🙏
Imagine teen aged Jeff in his bedroom practicing along with his record collection learning all of these licks. We grew up wanting to be Jeff Beck. He grew up wanting to be Gene Vincent.
More likely Cliff Gallup
His sister bought the first two gene Vincent albums they listened to them together
Jeff is simply a multi-talent when it comes to rock music. He can play anything from 50' rock 'n roll to psychedelic music like he made it up. An exceptional guitarist.
Yeah, he plays the blues and also opera stuff then u see him playing the 50s Rockabilly stuff. Its just crazy how good he is.
And always made it all look easy
I’m here to tell ya, it’s not
RIP Legend
Jeff did it all with such grace.
RIP Jeff - what a talent! I used to listen to this album over and over driving around in a beat-to-shit Mustang.
Glad to see these guys were able to get together for a live show, and that it's available for people to watch and re-live. Excellent.
Especially now, after his passing... what a great video. Maybe the the greatest electric guitarist ever. RIP, Mr. Beck. You were my guitar hero.
There's some serious jamming, especially the last song.
Every comment about Jeff is correct, but lets not forget the other 3 guys, they are phenomenal too.
People spend a lifetime trying to master one style like rockabilly …Beck masters it as a hobby side hustle …amazing
Not a side hustle. This is the stuff he really liked to play all along
He learned guitar to this stuff. Stupid rap culture lingo
@@jaffleyfifteen5912 That rap culture lingo is just slang. You have a version of it too. Quit hatin.
The electric guitar + slap back echo + Jeff Beck = perfection.
Why did this passing hurt so bad. I've been digging JB all my life but I never realized how much till he passed. Love you Jeff. R.I.P. my friend!!!
Yay... Jeff was such a guitar chameleon and amazing player!

No more needs to be said. Rock and Roll will never die.
Perfect! RIP Jeff Beck.
What a great group , total pros . With guest Jeff beck and his talking guitars.
Jeff could play any genre of music with excellence.
It was fun watching JB play with a pick on the first two songs. It was just fun watching Jeff play. I cannot believe he's gone.
Beck attained the closest tone to Scotty Moore I have ever heard on My Baby Left Me. Unreal show. Thanks for the upload.
This is so good, thank you for sharing the link. Jeff Beck will be forever missed, there will never be another.
He nailed the Cliff Gallup tone and that fantastic Blue Caps Gene Vincent guitar sound, fantastic stuff!
