That is a cool watch and I completely agree on your points especially the brushed clasp. Not a fan of the brand name though.
Great review as ever my brother 👍👍
There wasn't that much that I really didn't like with this one it's just a very well made pilot. As for the name yeah I get that its definitely a name that will only really make sense to aviation fans 😁
Thanks for watching bro 👍👍
I recently purchased a POINTtec "IRON ANNIE, Chronograph, TEMPELHOF 5862-M" watch online with a 5130.D Ronda quartz movement from Startech.
When I received it, the watch did not work at all, and only started for a period of 24 hours after setting the time, to stop working again. And so on.
After returning to the after-sales service, I had to wait almost 3 months to get this watch back in working order.
The repair announced by the after-sales service consisted of simply replacing the Quartz movement completely (for which I had to wait 3 months)
Never again a POINTtec watch for me!
Great to see this brand get some love. The company who make them (PointTec) also make and own Zeppelin watches which are a little better known (and also high quality and good value). Iron Annie is (as said in vid) essentially the Junkers brand re badged, most of the catalogue is Bauhaus stuff. I
Had a black Bauhaus with an ETA 2824-2. Was brilliant watch, sold it in end as I was wearing more tool style pieces. But held value well too.
I did have a Junkers GMT way back at the beginning of the channel & I have to say there has definitely been progress, this one really is a very nice piece. I will be keeping my eye on the brand with the intention of getting another in at a later date.
Thank you for watching.👍
Great review 👏 you did the watch real justice. Your introduction footage reel was fabulous, excellent quality 👌
I will certainly be looking at this brand in the future. Quality German engineering and Swiss movement, got to be a winning combination.
Congratulations on being one of the first UA-cam channels to cover it.
It definitely is a winning combo & this is a lot better quality than the old Junkers that I had so it's great to see progress from them.
Glad you enjoyed the intro. 😊 & thank you again for sending the watch in for me to review 🙏
Great video as always. I see from your comment section that they also make Zeppelin watches which I remember liking - very cool
Thanks mate. Yes apparently they do ive not had a Zeppelin yet but would be good see one in the metal. I'll be keeping my eyes open for a good deal on one.
Thanks for watching.
Great video my friend! Looks awesome! The lume was nice! I agree the seconds hand should have some lume also.
Thanks man yes definitely a good piece I can forgive it the lack of lume on the seconds hand thanks for watching man. 👍👍
Hey Adrian, cool flieger from a German brand under the PointTec umbrella. However I am not sure that this 'replaced' Junkers. I am pretty sure the Bauhaus brand replaced Junkers (especially considering their logo). I have a Junkers 6050-2 bought around the summer of 2020 (iirc that model had just stopped being produced) and when I was looking that up the other brands under PointTec were Iron Annie and Zeppelin. I do have a soft spot for German brands although I'd probably go for a Dekla if i was looking for a flieger in the 500-1000 euro retail range.
Thats an interesting point, I'll have to have a read up & check that out.
I did have a Junkers GMT in the very early days of the channel very nice piece & these German brands are definitely interesting & will from time to time be on the channel im thinking probably a Zeppelin next. Dekla I'm not familiar with so will check those out too.
Thanks for the info & for watching.👍
Nice to see this brand get featured, love this brand but wish they kept their original name. keep using that app mate its great
Thanks Troy. Yeah shame they lost the rights to Junkers but still great watches.
Ah yes I will keep using that app its actually more accurate than you think 👍
Looks like good quality! I like that type of crown, easy to grip and big enough without making the watch look bad.
Classic pilots watch that's a sensible size at 42mm very wearable & definitely a quality watch.👍
Very nice watch and great review! Can you tell me the app you’re using for the timegrapher as I’d like to use it. Thanks!
Thanks for watching here's the link to the timegrapher app....

The movement is Sellita, not ETA. It is a Swiss Made clone of ETA 2824. 25 vs 26 jewels. It can also be even cheaper STP, but not ETA.
Haha, yes, I realised my error after posting the video up. It's too late to change it now though. But as the saying goes, "it's horses for courses," basically the same movement. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
But thanks for pointing it out. My humiliation is now complete! 😂
You're not the only one who "labeled" this model with ETA. :)
The only difference would be if you bring it to your watchmaker for a service. Some parts from STP are not so easy to find, when you compare it to ETA.
In daily use, no difference at all.
I’m a little later to the party than usual really nice watch I am digging this one and as far as the time graph is concerned I actually just purchased an app myself and after doing some tests on it I found the app that I got to be quite accurate with respect to be plus or minus seconds per day so I will be featuring information on my automatics using that as well in future videos
Haha no worries mate! Yes it's a good very nicely made watch & not too big either.
Cool I'll be interested to see how your app compares on similar movements (nh35's etc)
To be honest the one I'm using is fairly accurate too but I'm sure you'll eventually get some know it all.....er sorry I mean very knowledgeable person complain about using a phone app.😅
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews ha, yeah true
Not so keen on the brand name, wish they'd have secured Junkers but it seems pretty solid value, especially with the ETA. The lume is solid too and I like they even managed to get some on the logo. Agree they should have put some on the seconds hand to increase legibility. Great work with the intro too.
The brand name does seem to be a bit of a polariser, those that are into thier aviation heritage get it but for the average collector that doesn't know I can see that name might seem a bit odd.
But the watch itself is a good solidly made piece.
Thanks for watching mate.👍
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews anytime mate and yeah definitely one for the aeronautical nuts.
Haha yeah that's me!!! 😂
Great review, it helped me decide between this and the Laco. I love the watch meter too. I downloaded it after seeing this. It is pretty accurate to what I have already timed on my watches. Keep up the good reviews.
Thank you. Glad you found the video useful. That timing app is pretty handy seems to work pretty well.
Thanks for watching.
would have preferred it named as 'junkers' personally
I believe there were issues surrounding the use of the Junkers branding after separation from the parent company, hence the name change.
I get why they chose Iron Annie, but like you, I do think its a bit meah....
Beautiful watch. Just wouldn't want that name on any piece.
Yes I get that. The name isn't to everyones taste. Really for aviation fans when it would make Complete sense.
Thanks for watching.👍
It's a smart-looking piece. Thanks for the great review!
Thanks so much my man. Appreciate you watching.👍🙌

The best watch is automatic or battery
That depends on which you prefer. Some like the accuracy & reliability of quartz where as others prefer the more traditional mechanical interaction you get with an automatic.
So there is no "best" you will need to decide which is best for you for yourself.
Or have one of each or several....
Hipster watch
😂
