Dear Jade, these days I have noticed that Instagram only promotes a few reels that have received higher engagament from the audience. Reels with million views and thousand comments. I even end up seeing the exact same reels that I have watched before and even engaged with multiple times before, and I am like: this again? Honestly, it is mundane and monotonous. We need to see new faces, hear new stories more. From a consumer point of view, it feels repetitious after a while.
Yes. With the death of hashtags, we are now completely reliant on the algorithm for content, but Instagram's algorithm has always been terrible. They show you content that you've interacted with already (can't believe they're still not able to have that filtered out...) and content from large accounts, which are boring. You can no longer stumble upon hidden treasures. There's no way to find them. There's so much talk about "creators", but creators are nothing without users...
IG is just killing its users rn... A lot of my friends in the niche has seen their reached dropped so much, and or we are getting shadow banned for no reason. it really sucks.
UA-cam is my main but instagram has been growing with reels recently 🤔 it’s hard to gain more in such a small niche (sonography) but I love watching your videos! Thank you for all of your advice ❤
Oh it really would be great if carousels appeared in the reels feed. It would mean I and others I follow could go back to putting content designed for carousels back into that format, instead of having to convert it all into reels (since they do better than carousels for reach to non followers).
Because you said it yourself about how Instagram is used for DM, and social talk, and business is around 10-15 minute conversations, and we usually talk with two or three people in a setting. It just makes sense when younger kids use tic tok and they babble.
Hi Jane, I’ve kind of plateaued at 1300 followers, but I’ll get it up there, eventually. I had a quick question though… I’ve heard many people say that if you ask your viewer to like or follow, they will close the post for real. Is that true? Is that such a dealbreaker or turn off for people? And if so, can you write it on the screen instead? Thank you!
I just want to use one app, IG or TT. I don't want to have them bought as a endless scroll. Don't know with one to pick I just want to have app where I can enjoy content and community but I'm also 31 years old so that's the issue with the new generation of content 😅
I cannot Follow. Driving me nuts. I spent 2 weeks doing every single piece of advice and instructions and ignored it. After a couple of days I was able to add 3 before I git the repetitive message.
Growing any social media platform is so hard. I am just exhausted and discouraged 😢. Smaller channel it feels like nothing favours us. Some people post 1 video and they go viral and get monetised. For some of us, nothing is working😢. It is discouraging
_Recently I've been experimenting with using zero hashtags on my reels and just giving a single line title or some further information and they have gotten more engagement and plays than the reels with hashtags. It seems that the no hashtag reels are actually reaching people that are interested in my topic which is very strange because you would think the hashtags would help people interested in your topic to find you._
@BibleBlogger Yes!! Keep doing it! I usually put my website instead of hashtags. When I googled my website not only did it popped up but my Facebook page popped up.

This is why I am sticking to Facebook. I can use my Facebook to post on Instagram and threads without even having to open those two apps. I can also use other peoples audio to make my own reels on Facebook. Plus posting on Facebook got easier with the use of meta AI. You just ask the AI about a top, copy it and post it on your page. Facebook have 6 different ways you can earn. Y’all sleeping on Facebook. What some of us fail to realize is that these social media sites are pivoting, they are going back to some of their older versions.

Hi Jade, I wanted to ask what platform is best for someone who wants to start their content creation/influencer journey right now. I feel like creating content for both is so different. Instagram seems to favour more of short videos whilst TikTok favours longer videos. Videos like “a day/week in my life”, vlogs, sit down and chat videos do better there (which is actually what I prefer) but still would like to know your view/opinion on which is the best for a beginner content creator at the moment
