Perfect, thank you. I looked around for parts to replace this but wasn't sure how to install. Dealer would have replaced the entire hose assembly and charged hundreds, instead I was able to fix this in an hour myself. I appreciate it
Wow!! That's insane! So happy I helped someone. 400 is just insane. A metal option is available out there, but for the price..the plastic one works for me and my new one seems to be holding up. great
Thanks so much. This happened to my 2009 Toyota Matrix today. I was changing the battery and bumped the water pipe outlet and broke it exactly how yours looked. I didn't even know what to call the part. This saved my bacon. Thanks again.
Hey man I prayed to find exactly this video and I found the only video that is exactly for my car 😂😂 you saved me a lot of money. Thank you so much for posting!
Thank you!!! Had this happen this weekend and as someone with very little mechanical experience, this gave me much more confidence doing the repair myself!
When I replaced this part I did not see a single video on youtube on how to do it. I knew how to go about doing it because I had the knowledge, but I needed to make a video and give others tips on how to go about it. I am blessed to be able to help and thank you for letting me know it helped you. So happy it helped get you fixed up.
Thank you so much! I'm a college student and recently moved to Washington from California. I do not know any mechanics in the area and the mobile ones I happened to come in contact with keep flaking on me. I really appreciate this video. Also, you are correct, there are no other videos out there like this. Took me forever to find. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I'm so glad the video helped you. After I fixed mine I got to looking and couldn't find a single video on UA-cam about it and so I decided I had to do one to help people
Thank you pal, you save a lot of money from my pocket since a mechanic was trying to charge me 150 bucks and two hours without my car to change that water pipe outlet! I did it myself after watching your Video.
Man, I just had a crook try to charge me nearly $300 for the same thing! Tried telling me the part cost $150. Inspired me to learn how to fix it myself!
Bruh, Thanks for the video! I and NOT auto savvy, but was doing a simple battery swap. I'm minding my own business when I gently bump against the hose running from the radiator to this connector. It starts to spurt and bubble Red Antifreeze, which of course, caused a bit of panic! Luckily for me, my neighbor is a mechanic and he rigged a plug until I ordered a replacement on Rock Auto. Over a long period of time, the plastic nipple get brittle inside the hose, and all you need do is breathe on it too hard to break it off. This part can be named differently by several manufacturers ( mine is called: " Coolant Hose Connector" by Gates ) and the average price for the plastic connectors are typically between $17- $29. They make metal connectors if you really want peace of mind for about $36, but hopefully, the plastic replacement will be fine. Either way, I'm sure these prices will beat whatever the Dealership would have charged. Again, thanks for straight forward instruction and information!
Thank bro same thing happend to me in the cold weather it just crumbled. I always like to double check before I go and do it myself. Thank you for the in depth video.
Man,I'm glad I could help! Thanks for watching the video. A pretty easy fix,but just crazy how much a shop would charge to do this. So glad you got it fixed! Mine is a 2010 and you did it on a 2016 so it looks like it's something they haven't fixed. I do know the part comes in metal, but for the price..you might as well go with the Dorman and save some money. Mine has held up great. No issues after replacing
@@righteousredneck777 Oh. I already lost some coolant. 🤣. I was glad to find your video. It’s cool to know I wasn’t the only person who went through this. 🙏🏾
@@righteousredneck777 So far I’ve done breaks and alternator on this car myself. I figured the starter would be a bit more involved. But I’m always up for a challenge.
A large pair of channel lock pliers for the larger hose..wrap around, squeeze and work back and forth to get it to free itself. The smaller hoses..a simple SMALLER pair of pliers will work. Your just trying to free the seal and get it to break free. It's been under pressure and the heat has caused it to seat. It's now just settled and being stubborn
I have the issue right now on my Toyota Corolla S 2009. I need help. I put coolant in because my check engine light came on and though it was low coolant. Then then I put the new coolant in, there was a leak which the video you are showing coming from the end of that tube which is corroded and leaking
By any chance did coolant reservoir overflow the normal measure ? While having this issue? I have somewhat similar problem. The water pipe that’s connected to the outlet is leaking coolant. But I also have coolant that overflow the full capacity
@@righteousredneck777 lucky you bro… I’ve no clue why it’s overflowing. Like I did notice one of the tubes that is connected from the radiator cap is leaking coolant but that’s it besides those two problems I’m baffled
you wouldn't happen to know the name of that hose that connects to the radiator neck to the water outlet would you? I'm trying to figure it out but haven't found anything , I have a small leak on the outlet side but just around that hose the big ones are fine
If the hose itself is leaking what I would do is this...go to Oreilly auto parts. They should have the same diameter hose in the back on a spool. They can cut you off the length you need. Tell them you need coolant hose. They carry fuel, coolant and vacuum hoses. You need one for coolant. If the plastic ever breaks at the radiator neck...like mine did. I drilled the hole out a touch bigger, where the outlet was and used a brass fuel line connector. I tapped it through the hole and it fits snug. So, one side tapped into the neck...the other where I could attach my hose. So basically made a new outlet. Worked like a charm
If you pull the battery clean op the ground wire at thr right of the battery on the frame and add dialect grease. The car nut guy youtube says its a common electric fix to prevent dealers changing faulty components.
I went with a short ram to increase fuel mileage even more. Warmer air helps bring a faster and COMPLETE COMBUSTION OF THE FUEL. Great results and tremendous fuel mileage
Just did this today. Totota 1657722H02 is part number about 26 plus tax it came with the smaller hose too to my surprise. Autozone had the same part for ~24 go with oem for extra 2 dollar.

Dorman 902-924HP for greater durability to prevent future failure.

Compress with a pair of channel locks
If you break one..you can go get new ones at any auto parts store..fairly cheap. You can get ones that use a screw to tighten and loosen
