    My washer would give error message E03 then when I tried to restart it would come up with E16. 90 and 60 washes would almost certainly always fail with these errors. Then it started happening to 40 and 30 washes. I changed the heater element and been fine ever since. PS, I am well aware that E03 is for drainage - but there’s never actually been any drainage issues.

      Hi Shaun, the error code is only a indication of what the electronics has determined is the problem, it is never 100% accurate but it shows us where to start to look to find the fault but nice job is sorting it.

    clear explanation thank you!
    I have a problem with the e16 error on hoover washing machine. First t indicates e3 after few minutes it indicates e16. With e3 already checked on and there is nothing stuck in the hose either. The washing cycle completes on 30c but on 60c the cycle does not complete at the end. Could it be the heater if e3 and e16 indicate?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  7 років тому +1

      E03 is usually a drain problem but when the heater insulation starts to fail (E16) it can throw up other random errors. If you did not have a drain problem (could have been a button stuck in the pump that has now flushed away) then the problems may all link to the heater failing.

    I have a suggestion for a new video 'leakage from the front drawer' and what causes it

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  8 років тому

      +Ray de Vries This is usually caused by mould causing the jets to spray over the top. For more information see another video: ua-cam.com/video/HD570cEFlNo/v-deo.html

    Note, this does not ALWAYS pull out so easily, even with screwdrivers. I've seen many videos and they show it come out with very little effort.
    Ensure you have slackened the nut to the end and pushed the bolt in to release. gently pry out with screwdrivers as much as possible. If this thing still does not release put a claw hammer around the nut and gently leaver. - i read this tip in the comment of another video and the thing popped out straight away! Save yourself an hour of constant prying to no avail.

    If only all heaters took such little levering out :-)

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  7 років тому

      Hi Jason. the rubber seal has to squeeze up tight enough to not just stop the water but also hold the heater in so it will often be difficult to remove. The tip of knocking the bolt into the machine helps disturb and relax the expanded seal and help loosen it but it often takes a bit of levering to start it to move.

      @jasonhounsell3297 7 років тому

      eSpares Thanks :-) I used to work for Hoover Candy, most of the engineers would replace the heater when doing tub changes because so many of the older ones were absolute pains to get back out, and worse to get back in with the bubbled seal, even with a lubricant.
      So much so that the service managers started complaining about so many heater changes with tubs haha.
      I was just saying I wished they were all a little wiggle and pull haha :-)

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  7 років тому

      Hi Jason, As an ex service engineer myself I would always when looking at a job like bearings consider replacing the heater especially if in a hard water area or particularly with Hoover Candy machines. These often suffered 'insulation breakdown' giving random faults and errors. I am sure you have had many of these when you were 'on the road' 😊

    • @jasonhounsell3297
      @jasonhounsell3297 7 років тому

      eSpares I live in Scotland, we didn't get many heater insulation problems, however we did see some, they were usually picked up right away as we did do machine insulation testing before a repair as standard. However in the case that it only broke down during a cycle, the faults were usually not spinning, and in the case it happened before and wasn't identified by the reading it usually didn't allow water into the machine.
      There was a certain type of heater, the very short ones, when they were first made all the engineers were complaining as we kept running out, because they would give insulation errors regular which was odd for us living in soft water areas.

    • @jasonhounsell3297
      @jasonhounsell3297 7 років тому

      eSpares Infact the ones that caught out most engineers and gave recalls, were the vision tech models. When they were first introduced for a good few months they were so sensitive to balancing issues, that the slightest load would cause it not to spin and just skip to end as if it was unbalanced (This later got fixed with program updates for our mem loaders, and we just reprogrammed the boards) however if there was a heater issue.
      The customer would tell us its not spinning properly, we already see on our computers before that the faults not spinning, and its a V-tech. We just assumed it was the balance problem and maybe got a bit lazy, and our recalls on those were maybe a little higher as we were a little miffed having to tell dozens of customers "You have bought a machine, its super sensitive to balancing, its not broken, and theres nothing we can do" (Thank god they came out with the new programming) that we kind of just sighed walking in and went into the explanation.
      Lazy engineers lol

    Hi, I've got an old Hoover HNL 7146 (Nextra 6 it calls itself). No fancy digital displays or error messages! But it runs sweet as a nut, never misses a beat. I've just noticed it's running stone cold, probably has been for some time. I assumed it must be the heater element and was pleased to see it's a repair worth trying. However, given the machine does complete cycles without any interruption, I'm not so sure. What do you think?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  5 років тому

      Hi Callum, we think your assumption is correct it does sound like the heater has failed and is easy to check it with a multimeter, just test across the heater terminals and if you don't get a reading you know it needs changing.

    Hi I recently changed the heater on my hoover washing machine and its spinning quiet faster than before is that normal?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  4 роки тому

      Hi Abdul, changing the heater should nit affect the motor speed, check it's draining correctly or an unbalanced load affecting the spin speed.

    Hi, I have been getting the same error codes, 3 and 16. When trying to remove the heater element it looks like the black seal is stuck in there? The heater element only comes out so far. Any ideas? I’ve pulled with some force but I don’t want to break anything else

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  4 роки тому

      Hi Robert, we have known the elements to be a pain to get out and they do require some force, we have used some grips to help pull it out so try that.

    Heya there just had a burning smell come from our candy grand vita during the spin phase of a 59 min cycle. Upon opening up the back panel I notice there is a plastic piece that is sat on the bottom left leg area. It looks like a small cylindrical piece with grease on it.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    My Hoover machine I always used 40-degree wash ever since I had it for 2 years, then I tried doing a hotter wash at 60c and I started getting error e03 and sometimes e16, it was ok using 40c till recently now it would never finish not matter what temp get e03, so I checked all pipes underneath blew out waste pipe, still same error, when I took of the black pipe on bottom of the main drum, you can see the heater it looked like it had a layer of limescale on it so I have taken it out like in this video, but all I did was clean it so I can see most of the element I cant get all the limescale off but mines not as bad as this and so it seems to have fixed it for now.

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  6 років тому

      F03 is a 'drain error' check your machine empties from rinse in less than one minute. If longer check for debris in the pump or a blockage. If it does drain correctly it may have a blockage in the chamber to the pressure switch caused by debris/detergent build up. To clear this and help remove any limescale see this video:

      eSpares Can it make the e05 error code go away possibly? By removing limescale?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  6 років тому

      Hi Kim, if your machine is showing error code E05 this refers to an issue with the NTC that fits inside the heater, you will need to test it and if faulty replace it and that will remove the error code.

    • @hejhej655
      @hejhej655 6 років тому

    • @eSpares

      The best people to answer that is the Hoover company that you bought the element from. 1500 watts sound a little low but the 2200 wat sounds like what is normally fitted to most machines are you sure you need a 1500 watt element?.
