Elizabeth I agree as long as you have a comfortable bed then everything else is negotiable. My hubby and I call our caravan a bedroom on wheels. Happy camping.
Elizabeth you are doing GREAT on loosing weight keep up the good work ......the little engine going up the hill says Oh yes I can...Oh yes I can... Blessings and love to you .
Your box truck is coming along so nicely. It will be so functional and comfortable. We live and travel full time in our very nice Class C the past 8 years. It fortunetly has a walk around queen bedroom and a full shower with separate toilet area. We have done lots of updates that please us. It's fun to make our rig exactly like we want it. Don't bother about the folks who don't understand your decision to convert the box truck. Many don't understand the satisfaction and good sense of doing things yourself.
A couple things: *Another good thing about having a HOME in Fla is that you can have a home church down there too. *You are looking amazing Elizabeth! The old videos prove it. You are beautiful always however.. and lastly, your camper is so amazing, you should start a business making them to sell, Bill! (HAHAHAHAHA!) Great video, thanks
I bet the way youve built it is a million times better than any other box truck camper! So interesting to follow what you both are doing! We pray you both stay safe in your travels!
I can’t wait to see your finished “camper”. And Elizabeth…I knew you’d lost weight, but looking back at that video of you and Leo, well WOW…you’ve lost a LOT of weight!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is no easy task. I too am in a weight loss journey and have lost some too. 🙏🏻ing for you and I to continue!!! Gif bless!!!🙂
Elizabeth, you had mentioned that you have leg cramps at night. I have had that problem also along with restless leg syndrome. My doc told me that he could write a prescription for me or I could get some tonic water and drink it (it has Quinine). That did it for me and of course you should check with your doctors to be sure that quinine would be okay for you with your health problems. When I first started taking tonic water for the cramps I couldn’t down it unless I mixed it with orange juice. Now (guess I’m old enough now that I don’t taste it as much as I did at first) I can sip it straight and it actually works fairly fast and gives me relief through the night. Of course just remember this advice is worth what you’ve paid for it!!! 😂 Love you guys❤
I live in FL. in my travel trailer(29 Ft.) full time, in an RV PARK. My lot rent is $514 and I pay electric. This is the cheapest way for me to live because apt. rental, house rental, mobile home rental are way more expensive. Being on SS only, doesn’t go far, but I’m blessed to have what I have. Box truck? Looks amazing! God bless, and happy trails!
Thanks for the update on your plans. Thanks for telling me how one thing turned into another with the RV, truck and purchase of the house. It was a great refresher! 😊 I like your spare tire and the cover! God works in mysterious ways! 🙏✝️💖☺️🌻🙏
I was one of the viewers that questioned why a box truck versus a class C, I wasn't trying to be negative but understanding the decision. There is no RV that is perfect for everyone so one has to decide how you plan on using it. For my wife and I, our 2017 Roadtrek 190 Popular is perfect because it's easy and comfortable to drive, parks in our driveway and even though we have solar, we stay at places like state parks with electrical hookups if we plan on using the AC. The other thing is we use it for exploring bike trails in our area even if we plan on coming home at night. 17-18 mpg isn't bad. I'm pretty handy but if I tried doing what you're doing, I'm sure I would screw something up, I call it learning by making mistakes. Take care and good luck!
I love hearing about the plans that you have for the truck and the dreams you will be able to experience. I love hearing you talk about it and I definitely love seeing you on your trips. May God bless you and keep you safe on all of your travels and adventures. Amen!❤😊 We love you two. Thank you for bringing us along on your adventures!🎉
I'm retiring in 1000 days (I'll be 69) and planning on doing the same thing. Building the rig myself is going to be part of the fun. Thanks for the videos.
I have recently found your channel, and have been enjoying your videos. Let me say that you two are the sweetest couple! God has blessed you both! I pray that you will have many more years together.
🤠 CAMPING: County Parks, they can be hidden gems, if you see windmill farms, a lot of the workers stay in RVs, so our little town of 300, put in 4 spots, electricity, with a common hydrant, good idea to have a "Y" adapter for the hydrant/spigot, handy in your tool box,
I agree with Elizabeth..... turn off that sad music. I almost felt like saluting as the van was s.l.o.w.l.y. hauled up onto the flat deck.. hahahaha. Elizabeth... looking at those pictures of you with Leo on your lap, you have lost an amazing amount of weight since then. Good for you!!! ❤
Love watching your videos. I have brothers who are quite talented. One has renovated several box trucks mainly for work purposes. No shoddy work done. Y’all do such a great job planning and creating. Elizabeth you look great. Take care and God bless!❤
I think both of your houses are very nice. I would live in either one of them. Thanks for another video. May God continue to bless the wonderful Keller family.
Thankyou. And now I am the full quid, as they say. Lovely little video. Yours is the only UA-cam channel that has this mellow jazz music as an intro and conclusion to the video.
WOW, Elizabeth, you look GREAT!! I love your hair style it, fits you. Plus you look so much more healthy and happy. 😊 I love the box truck camper🚛 it is coming along beautifully. Good for you both! Also you litarey know every inch inside and out. I'm really happy for you both.❤️ thank you for your video😍
Yes, so do we. And they fill up just as fast as other places. There's an Army Recreation Center in Destin FL that we go to all the time, and we have to reserve a year in advance.
I'd take anything made with/for specific use over a prefabricated one. Especially if made by Bill that is for sure. Elizabeth you are right about a good night's sleep to keep Bill company and alert while driving on the road, safety first always.🚚👍
We have 7ft wide Truck Camper and we LOVE it!! We too can pull into pretty much ANY parking lot. UTurns are easy, we can park any where a large SUV can park. We don't hang out in it, but sleep, eat, and shower in it. We are seniors now and find road trips way more fun. We used to camp in one spot for a week which is a different trip for sure. We love Walmarts too. We do truck stops as well. It's not too quiet all the time, but when we drive 12 hrs a day to get across a few states it works for us. Theh have water and dump stations which is nice. We are in CA and CANT get a campground reservation anymore!! We plan on moving to Missouri and are looking forward to being in the middle of the country to visit even more states! You're doing a great job, love your rig!!! ❤
Box truck/camper is coming along nicely. I was reminiscing today... back when I first started watching your channel. You guys lived in a tiny but cute mobile home, somewhere further up north. I can't remember which state. Wow do things ever change over time, for most of us. Stay cool from the heat! 🕊
Everything looks wonderful and I enjoyed seeing Bill's ingenuity in building that shower base and the entire thing. Brillant. Our motor home that is older has that product you saw at Lowes. We used it to repair our shower in the MH. You got it done however and I am thinking it is actually better than fighting cutting all the other options. Elizabeth, I need to tell you how wonderful you look. You are stunning and I feel like you are feeling better as well. What a wonderful bunch of fun that you two are going to enjoy. Keep up the good work you two.......all's going well! God Bless!!
Hey Bill, check the fuel injectors in your box truck. I too bought a 2007 E450 from Uhaul. Mine has 155K miles. I tested the injectors and 2 of them were stuck open so they were constantly spraying fuel. I just bought 10 new Motorcraft injectors. I hope that helps with the MPG’s.
I've just starting my box truck build, stripping it down now. As far as overnight parking I'm shooting for a "Stealth Truck" appearance. An RV that at least at first glance looks like a regular box truck. So, if I was in a town, I can pull into a light industrial area and when closed up, it wouldn't look out of place there. If it blends in, there's no knock on the door. Naturally, there'll be some giveaways like extensive solar panels, but only if they observe what they're seeing. I have a lift gate that I'm keeping for my back porch, and my roll-up door would be my awning. Unfolded, it will reveal my real back door.
We have debated for a long time about whether to do that or not. For You Tube Creators, security is always an issue. (Some Creators have stalkers!) Though our camper truck is very distinctive, we prefer to remain as anonymous as possible while we travel. So, I think we've decided against it.
I just found your channel. I built out a 2007 U-Haul 14-footer to a tiny home and this has been my first traveling. I know the feeling when people stop you in parking lots. I've done a lot of tours. LOL I am currently outside of Flagstaff Arizona in the national park. Hope to see you guys on the road!
You’re building what you need. I had a Chevy truck and a small camper trailer. The trailer loaded was under 4500 pounds and every time I towed the darn check engine light light would come on. The tire pressure sensors constantly needed resetting. Towing on and off Long Island is a nightmare!!!! So after 2 years of 8-10 mpg towing, expensive campsites and crazy drivers cutting me off I t trying to merge between the truck and trailer I sold the trailer and bought a small express cargo van and traded the truck for a small easier to drive suv. The dream isn’t the reality.
I have no clue why I ever ended up watching your channel but here I am lol. I have been subscribed under a old account for a while now and just switched to this account and resubscribed. Elizabeth, you really are looking a lot better these days! I was honestly a little worried for a bit. Bill, Excellent work on the Box truck! I love the way its turning out and I agree, It looks like a expedition rig! Cant wait to see it finished and the trip out west!
Went to Utah last summer, it was 110. Every day since we left Florida, it was very hard, we tried boondocking, we did state parks everywhere, we had a classic , we sold it when we got home, very. Hard trip.
Hi to the both of you. Elizabeth, with your leg cramps, if you try this it will definitely work. It is all about electrolights. Drink 1 bottle of Propel each day (i use the packets that you can mix with water). I drink the one with zero sugar. It has been easy and worked wonders for me. Also the packets are very affordable..
Elizabeth, have you tried taking magnesium for your leg cramps? Either taking it daily or taking it when you get a cramp works for me. Amazing how fast it will relax a cramp.
I really enjoyed this video. Excellent information and I love the way you delivered it. I felt like we were sitting in a friendly circle chatting. Love to you both.
Hi from Ireland. Love your channel, you’re so honest but please don’t feel you have to explain your finances etc. Nobody’s business! You’ve both worked hard and Elizabeth is dealing with so many health issues. I think you are wonderful to go on so many adventures.
Being an rver sence 1978 an living full time for 9 years. I can tell you that that box truck will be around a long time after any class c or class a travel tralier 5th wheel class b is trashed. You did the right thing, i would have done that but at my age its not happing. Good luck and may God bless you both
This is ur blessed day E a Forest ranger told us to keep several packs of deli yellow mustard like u get a fast food restaurants by your bed side table eat two of them when a cramp starts..it is amazing I now keep them in my purse..both cars lots in our camper..I how have no fears of sudden leg cramps also 1tablespoon from your bottled yellow mustard does the job too.. again let me say I'm sooooo glad at ur height Bill u don't have to squat in a low van.. greetings from NC and just one more mile
I've watched many RV channels. Seems to me that rvs are poorly made and are constantly falling apart. I watched one couple buy a brand new air stream and every day something new was breaking. Bill's build is solid. Plus it's built to their exact needs.
Really enjoy your videos ! Really is looking good . In my opinion you got the right set up for you two. My wife camp out of a long high top Van and we love when we get the chance to go !
You need to come down to South Florida, Ft Lauderdale or south. We only had like 3 days of cooler weather where you might need heat. Once you have been here for 20 years you wait for cooler weather. Come on down.
Addressing your decision to build vs buy (class c): Bill - you seem to be the same sort of guy as my late husband Dave. He always needed a chore to do. In our marriage he purchased and rebuilt (engine and body) of several old cars (we belonged to street Rod assoc). The same with with different small boats (USN retired - of course boats!). Then it was rebuilding our house. Thru years we had many kinds of RVs (tents, truck, goose-neck, trail-light). All of which were remodeled, improved on or repaired by my hubby 😁. Then when I could finally retire we splurged on a new RV (35 ft. Motor home) and sold almost everything and hit the road full tim-ish for 5 years. After 15 months we did end up in the same lakeside campground for 5 months in summer and he was at it again 😝. Building a shed, building decks. I still miss hearing his special whistle when he was busy at his "chores.". He was always happiest doing 'stuff!'. He built, rebuilt, repaired, for relatives too (after retirement). Always best to keep a guy like that buddy 😁. You keep going Bill and Elizabeth! In
I’m not doing these things because I like projects. I’m doing them because they need to be done, and it’s cheaper to do it myself then hire someone else to do it. When I’m done with these projects, I am done! 😀
My brother in-law and his wife bought a second hand tear drop camper. I'm not a big fan of it because the kitchen is located outside the camper. And as far as the facilities. They have to use the showers and the bathrooms on the camp ground facility. My husband and I both debated on getting a camper, but we decided not to. With all the up keep, tags, insurance, taxes and anything that breaks you got to spend a lot of money to repair. So we decided when we go on vacation, to stay in a 5 star hotel. Yes, it cost to stay in a hotel, but we never have to worry about the upkeeps.
Thoroughly enjoyed your videos! Thanks for sharing your experiences. It's been very helpful to make up my mind on what vehicle will work best for my retirement adventure.
Even here in Indiana it is VERY hard to find space in RV state parks, better reserve a year in advance and can only stay 14 days. Not nearly as easy as it appears. My grandson is living in my 5th Wheel on our farm, just too difficult to get reservations. Love the box truck videos, excited to see finished project.
Be blessed. Just an FYI on cramping at night try sipping dill pickle juice it has done wonders for me. It stops cramps instantly as does putting ice on the area that is cramping.
Elizabeth, noticed that you drink from a Contigo cup. We’ve been using that brand for years now and don’t find any better! The do what they say they do plus they fit in the car cup holders! Truly, I’m not getting paid to tell you this. Am sure you already know it! 😁😂. BTW, so enjoy you guys, been watching y’all from the beginning! Am really enjoying the box truck build! Bill is such a talented, gifted man! Seems he can do anything!
Not true about most class C's having wet baths. Some do, some have great separate showers. I have a smaller class C with a small bathroom but separate shower. Works great for my purposes. I'm sure yours will be great. Can't wait to see it. As far as gas mileage, mine is lucky to get 10 mpg. Happy travels!
Im with you on this one! I want to do the same and build it the way I or WE want it, not the way some big compamey thinks i want it! cost is also a Factor! I can build onw cheaper than a worn out new one that leaks! Its a no brainer! oh and roof ac's do have heat in some, mine does!
know this is off topic but I had the cramping issues so I thought I would share what I was told would help by a phamacist. She told me to use tonic water because it has quinine in it. She said pharmacists us to give quinine out for cramps but the government stopped them because it,s not FDA approved. I buy diet tonic water because I'm diabetic and need to stay away from the sugar. It has work wonders for me and it works quickly. God Bless and I hope this helps if you didn't already know about it.
It's all a matter of what a person wants and what they're comfortable with . I have a 22 ft Thor Class C motorhome I've had a Class A Winnebago I've had a Class C Ford and now have the Thor but that's all I need as a widow to still be able to travel and it's very parkable
It seems many subscribers have similar questions. My question is another possibility you could have considered. Since you're not constantly taking long road trips (a couple times a year?) you could have gotten a used hybrid car which gets up to 40 mpg, stayed overnight in inexpensive motels and totally avoided all the work and cost associated with your box truck conversion. The upfront cost is initially higher than the truck (used hybrids $12,000-16,000) but the long term saving pays for itself. Wouldn't sleeping and showering in a motel, eating out in budget places, and getting fabulous gas mileage provide the comforts you need and in the long run save a bundle of money and work? It would be interesting to work all the numbers in the end to see if you've actually saved money by using the truck as your home away from home not to mention you're using the truck as a vehicle for everything else since you've sold your car!
This is actually a topic that we have been thinking about doing a video about. If we are going to take a short trip, like for instance, go to Utah for a 3 day Thrive Life convention, then it is cheaper to fly, rent a car and a hotel and eat out. (That's why we usually fly to Utah.) But for longer trips (several weeks or more), that becomes prohibitively expense. Even driving a hybrid, as you suggest, is too expensive for longer trips. Sure, the gas is much cheaper. But consider $80-100 a night for hotels, and then $100 a day or more for restaurant food for two? Even Mcdonalds now costs about $25 for 2 to eat there. And we don't want fast food very often. But a restaurant meal - with a tip - can easily cost $40 for 2 people! We want better quality food than fast food. In fact, we are very careful about our diet, and eating the way we do (which we've never talked about on You Tube) is not really even possible at restaurants. We can buy groceries (or use Thrive Life) and cook in our camper for less than half of eating out all the time. So considering the cost of hotels and restaurant food (probably $200 a day or more), for longer trips, even our gas guzzler truck is cheaper. That wouldn't not be the case if we planned to always stay at RV parks, which can cost $40-50 or more. But we plan mostly free places - Walmart, Cracker Barrel, BLM land, and many other free places that can be found on numerous RV apps. Another thing to consider. We love to "camp" in private, desolate areas up in the mountains, or out in the desert on BLM land. That is a whole different experience, that we love, that's just not possible if we're always "stuck" with finding a hotel! RVing is a different LIFESTYLE than traveling and hoteling it. But like I said, this topic will easily make an entire video, which we will probably do eventually. Cost comparison: RVing vs flying or driving a car and staying in hotels. Thanks for your faithful, consistent input and comments. We appreciate you!
Something I've meant to warn you about. If you spend more than a few days at high altitudes (Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountains, etc. ) PLEASE be aware altitude can affect heart problems. Even tho my hubby had had heart issues since age 39, our Michigan cardiologist neglected to mention that when we took off across country for five years. Cardiologist in Flagstaff AZ ER told us of this when Dave had heart attack while we were camping in Williams AZ near Grand Canyon!
You need to go to Arizona. It's a $180 on B. L. M land From november to april. Water sewer and trash. They are called l v t a's long term visitor areas in Quartzsite
Yes, we've heard of that. And I plan to go to Arizona sometimes. But we will not be there long term. (We have a house in Florida for our snowbird winter getaway.) Our RV trips will only be 4-6 weeks at a time. Probably one in the summer and one in the winter. We probably will not be in any one place for more than 4-5 days.
Sleeping with a bar of soap in the area you usually get a cramp will help prevent it. I also use magnesium to stop the cramp. It is in a powder form. If anyone is interested I can give the name. Right now it is the middle of the night. 😂
I was advised, by someone with MS (not that I have MS), to eat 1 banana per day to stop cramps/spasms. It has worked for me. High potassium and yummy too.
I am sure truck camper is put together better than any other camper. Bill you’re the man and Elizabeth you are the copilot with lots of enthusiasm.
Elizabeth I agree as long as you have a comfortable bed then everything else is negotiable. My hubby and I call our caravan a bedroom on wheels. Happy camping.
Bill does everything right when he builds! It's so fun watching the transition!!
Elizabeth you are doing GREAT on loosing weight keep up the good work ......the little engine going up the hill says Oh yes I can...Oh yes I can... Blessings and love to you .
The look back video really emphasizes your returning health Elizabeth! Whatever you’re doing, keep it up!
Y'all don't need to explain anything about your decisions on what you buy ... we love your videos ❤

❤it tickles me so that you got that box truck. I get to see Bill work his magic on the various DIY projects. It's better than going to the movies. 😊
We love it when a plan comes together!

I don’t look at those questions is being negative. In this video, we were simply explaining why we came up with the decision we did.
There is nothing like camping or living in something you built better yourself.
I agree 👍
I love your box truck camper! You are going to get people interested wherever you go.
You guys made the right call with the box truck
I love hearing about the plans that you have for the truck and the dreams you will be able to experience. I love hearing you talk about it and I definitely love seeing you on your trips. May God bless you and keep you safe on all of your travels and adventures. Amen!❤😊

Yes, county parks; there's some in Indiana and Wisconsin that we have enjoyed. Quiet, beautiful and less expensive
You two have tested the modes of travel homes and shared the pluses with the drawbacks in this valuable video. Great job, my friends ❣️

I love jazz. I’ve been playing trombone and jazz bands for 50 years.
Wow her weight loss has taken 20 years off of her! The softest complexion! You look so good and healthy!

This is better quality, too.
They say folks try 5 different styles.
I remember all those iterations, very instructive.

Camper trucks looks awesome great job!
So pleased your health has gotten better Elizabeth
You areable to enjoy life and move so much easier...Happy for you
Bill You should put "live simple live free" UA-cam on the back to help grow your channel.
We have debated for a long time about whether to do that or not. For You Tube Creators, security is always an issue. (Some Creators have stalkers!) Though our camper truck is very distinctive, we prefer to remain as anonymous as possible while we travel. So, I think we've decided against it.
That's sad, but true.@@LiveSimpleLiveFree
Welcome back! 😊
U bet..riveting..keep up the gr8 work keeping us posted..enjoy..ta
Your rig is beautiful! Love and Light everyone ❤😊
Went to Utah last summer, it was 110. Every day since we left Florida, it was very hard, we tried boondocking, we did state parks everywhere, we had a classic , we sold it when we got home, very. Hard trip.
That's why we are spending the money to put in a solar system that is large enough to run the A/C over night while boondocking,
Love listening to you and I love your house in Florida!
😊❤️
I’ve enjoyed watching you build
So good to see Leo. :-)
Being an rver sence 1978 an living full time for 9 years. I can tell you that that box truck will be around a long time after any class c or class a travel tralier 5th wheel class b is trashed. You did the right thing, i would have done that but at my age its not happing. Good luck and may God bless you both
👍😀
This is ur blessed day E a Forest ranger told us to keep several packs of deli yellow mustard like u get a fast food restaurants by your bed side table eat two of them when a cramp starts..it is amazing I now keep them in my purse..both cars lots in our camper..I how have no fears of sudden leg cramps also 1tablespoon from your bottled yellow mustard does the job too.. again let me say I'm sooooo glad at ur height Bill u don't have to squat in a low van.. greetings from NC and just one more mile
You both are really slimming down, blessings from Ohio
Keep smiling. Your my inspiration and charm.
Our winter home is in north Florida. Anything south of Gainesville was too expensive, too hot, and too far from VA to do in one day.
Hi! Y'll. Live in Virginia myself. But love camping away from home.
That color is so pretty on you Elizabeth!
Corp of engineers especially with discount card are great parks and very reasonable. I enjoy your videos😍
Have you tried eating 1 banana per day (potassium) to reduce or illuminate the cramping? Worked for me!
Enjoy those beautiful hotels! 😊❤️
I'm 57, unemployed, and my lease is up at the end on 8/31, so my cat and I will be living in my 2014 Jeep Patriot with everything I own.
Praying a home will open up for you.
🙏🏼❤️
@@LiveSimpleLiveFree amen
God bless you and keep on living simple and free. Enjoy your videos.
Be blessed. Just an FYI on cramping at night try sipping dill pickle juice it has done wonders for me. It stops cramps instantly as does putting ice on the area that is cramping.
I thank yall did A good job on the box truck camper Bill, love from Lonnie in North Carolina.
You've done a great job ! All your reasons make good sense. 🥰
Magnesium and glass of water for leg cramps at night. Potassium sometimes. Helps so much, pain gone in minutes.
Sorry, I may have been thinking more of class B’s and camper vans.
@@LiveSimpleLiveFree For sure.
Can't wait to see the final result and your adventures!!
Me too! 😁
Love the box truck
Great video you guys
Box truck for sure. Sturdy. I'm a heavy older lady not willing to crawl up on anything. Comfort would be everything (bed & bath) 😊
(That's why we usually fly to Utah.)
But for longer trips (several weeks or more), that becomes prohibitively expense.
The Loves truck stops have full hook up camp sites in many of them. I think for a few days. 😊
Yes, Elizabeth grew up in Colorado, and I spent seven years there when I was in the army. We are well aware of high altitude issues. Thank you.
So, you are implying that the cardiologist is responsible for your husband’s heart attack?
Hi Bill & Elizabeth!❤️
Hello. 😊
Congratulation you're doing great ....enjoy 😊🙏🏻🙏🏻
I take the maxium amount of magnesium that is advisable. It does not help my severe leg cramps at night; neither does a bar of soap work for me.
I was advised, by someone with MS (not that I have MS), to eat 1 banana per day to stop cramps/spasms. It has worked for me. High potassium and yummy too.
