Irfan, you should have asked him about the constitutional provision that allows army to 'mediate' between political parties. What gives them the right to meddle in politics in the first place. They have been talking about their course 'as per constitution' after they did the damage unconstitutionally. Since November 21, they have been putting government in an awkward position by taking totally opposite position on matters of national policy. Just to give an example, General Bajwa went totally against sitting government's position on foreign policy in Islamabad Security Dialogue.
General said US did not ask for bases. There is a story published by Dawn in its June 8, 2021 edition. It clearly states that US was in negotiations with Pak for bases and the talks had hit a roadblock. The General is obviously obfuscating the issue here because DG ISPR gave a different version yesterday. He is being economical with truth here.
He is not admitting that agencies that measure 'pulse' of the nation underestimated the fall out from army's overenthusiasm to remove Imran. Like his brothers in uniform, he is not realising that this time its not just about Imran. It is also the rise of middle class who is fed up with army brokered injustices and is crying out 'take notice of us, we are not got to be manipulated again'.
General is giving you heads up here because he also chairs the ex-servicemen society and is very much in picture about what army is up to. Army top brass is in collusion with judiciary and has mid wifed Imran's ouster and bringing the clown Sharif into power. Game has not finished and is going to culminate into side lining IK and PTI. They are playing with fire. See how dodgy they are. They just 'mediated' in political affairs, facilitated Nawaz's flight from Pakistan and his daughter's release from prison, and knew well (or probably with their approval) of Bilawal's and Haqqani's overtures in the US, engaged in backdoor negotiations with Nawaz in London, turned a blind eye when US counsel general Wil Makaneole was meeting people left, right and centre, and most importantly handed over their assets (aka lota) to opposition when it was decided to pull the pin on IK. Mind you these were the same assets that were given to IK to form his government.
Don't take me wrong, we need a strong standing army, but within the ambit of constitution. IK's only 'crime' is that he asserted the control of a PM and attempted to put army within their defined constitutional role. I see this as an opportunity to have the 'glorious revolution' of Pakistan to reclaim the constitutional supremacy of parliament and civilian government and reduce the role of judiciary and military in running the affairs of state.
Agreed.
Time will assure the mistakes done before by all the institutions. Moreover in human history when anything come against the principles then it collapse. During the collapsing it exposes all. The Future of Pakistan will better insha Allah but the system will have to rollover from which something will come out new with those fundamental principles which will be acceptable for everyone. Keep in mind this system will rollover no matter now or tomorrow. Wait and watch.

No outside conspiracy can be successful without internal involvement. Parliament and Supreme Court are both respected institutions and they should not interfere in each other's mater but recently what had happened was an example of bad decisions made by one of the respected institution and now as a result a person with corruption charges is now a prime minister of the country and with other Pakistanis I am confused is it justice?. The irony is few people wrong decisions has put the whole country in uncertain situation.
It is short and sweet “Our mouth is filled with foreign favours” and in Pakistan this is the Supernatural of our country and we are ready to sell our souls irrespective of the consequences.
