I remember seeing First Blood in the Alvin York Theater on post at Fort Bragg in 1982...I was a Private in the 82d Airborne then, and I can vividly remember the emotion in the audience during the movie, both up and down...The movie could not have come out at a better time than it did...We all felt PRIDE in being Soldiers, Paratroopers, and felt both pride and sadness for the character John Rambo, because we felt empathy for the hell he was tormented with...There was a real story behind the character, and a lot of people felt what the character was going through...IMO it was by far the BEST of those movies...
It was the greatest one they ever made. My dad got drafted for Vietnam and I watched this with him when it first came out. I was 6 at the time and I was too young too understand what war was all about. When the Rambo character broke down at the end my dad started crying and I was like dad why are you sad. He said you’d have to go through it too understand.
I met a girl from Hope in Vancouver many years ago; she said 'my dad's bank was the one shot up in First Blood' ... lol I went to see Last Blood the other day and interspersed over the final credits were photos from First Blood. It was wonderful nostalgia as well as an acknowledgement of the iconic character of John Rambo. Thanks, Sly. :-)
You Sir, are a genious!. A true tribute to my all time favorite movie. If they ever release a definitive Blu Ray edition, your videos MUST be included in the extras!. Thank you.
ADAM PLEASE DO !!!! GIVE ME A NOTICE WE WOULD LOVE TO GIVE YOU A TOUR !!! WIFE & DAUGHTERS ARE A BIG FAN THEY WOULD FLIP IF YOU CAME NORTH AGAIN !!!! YOU WERE SO CLOSE ( 90 MIN DRIVE ) WHEN YOU CAME TO DO THE "" NEVER ENDING STORY "" VLOG IN VANCOUVER... """ HOPE """ TO SEE YOU !!!! 👍🤘✌🇨🇦🇬🇧🇺🇸🤘✌👍!!!!
First Blood was the first rented film I ever watched on one of those new-fangled home VHS player/recorders when I was about 10! It was in my auntie's house, as my mum couldn't afford one at the time! Fair play to Regan at the end of this video, he did a fine job reciting those lines.
Great job Herve! Wonderful movie, as a kid I used to watch it every several weeks on VHS and then reenact the scenes in a nearby forests. Greetings from Poland to all First Blood fans!
I visited Hope whilst I was in Canada, a very beautiful place. First Blood is a stand out movie. It has a very moving story behind some really great action.
Thank you for your activity This is the best picture in the world . I like the old films like Rambo ,predator, rocky, terminator. I grew up on this. .the part of soul left with this..
I found some of the filmed locations on Google earth. Most of which are in Hope, Canada. It's so nice to see how some of the scenery parts in the film are still there.
~ The name of the town and the spirit of the film are the same. Hope; never let go of that. It is the rainbow bridge to freedom. Hope leads to faith, faith leads to trust, trust leads to courage, courage leads to truth, truth leads to freedom. May hope guide us out of the darkness of war to freedom ~
I just happened to be in Hope BC in 2017 for the 35th and the do make a big deal of it. They invited Stallone but he was a no show. The funny thing was I had my Dads old 82 Yamaha xt 250 in the back of my truck that I was delivering to my sister. I was yelling just for fun that it was a set used bike. Funny thing was my dad bought it in 82 because of the movie and told us kids he bought it at auction as a set used bike. All this by chance on that day.
I enjoyed that boys! thanks. Saw "Last Blood" the other day. Not a great movie, but worth seeing for a Rambo fan. We get closure in "Last Blood"- IMO. John made it home, grew old and although we don't know for sure looks like he went out fighting. That's enough for me to make it worth seeing.
My hometown of Bellefonte, Pa. was used as inspiration for the book. I sometimes imagine Rambo flying through town on a cycle, raisin heck, while runnin from Teasle! Thankyou Herve! AWESOME video!!!
hahahah. YESSSS. Finally someone like me. In 1988 I watched it 2 to 3 times a day all summer. I watch movies I like hundreds of times. I think I've seen Platoon 1,000 times. I can't believe someone else who is like me and can do that.
I was the same as kid...lot of movies we played over and over tentimes and i still loved it and was interested of it...... but today..i see one new 2017 movie and dont even need to replay the best scenes.. ooh yeah... Lucy(2012-2014 i dont know) I saw 4 times, cause i really liked the thouhgst of how powerfull is brain and mind in it..
I so thank You , Herve Attia ,for these fantastic video works, stories about anthological films that marked our lives. I expect new video works from you. Thank you, it was great pleasure to watch!
This is really some awesomely put together video that has waved the flag for true fanmanship (yeah I made that word up)... First blood is a film of tremendous power and influence and it's great to see this video and its fans doing it real justice. Thanks for posting this..
great great work Herve Attia.. I like in the fraser valley and did our own tour in hope 40 minutes away. Before they took down the old bridge. That old bridge no longer exists now. Which si a bit sad, but we got our pictures in before .
Herve, thank you so much for all the dedicated work. Your Rambo documentaries give me goosebumps. I hope one day I can visit this very special place too.
This video was posted a year ago to celebrate the 30th anniversary. But again, UA-cam has blocked worldwide. Therefore, I re-posting again. It shows the Delmar property by sunny day as it was in the movie. This video was fun to make and it deserves to be shared on UA-cam for the First Blood fans who could not attend the celebration event in Hope, BC. Rate and comments. Thank You!
Fantastic video, brought back a lot of great memories. Thank you for taking the time and effort to put this together. Excellent job, you are a very talented film maker. Cheers
There was another bridge scene that was done in Pitt Meadows BC which is about a hour west of hope. The scene was where he drove the army truck through the police road block at the bridge. We used to call it the silver bridge. It has since been torn down and rebuilt.
Great job i must say i really enjoy you're hard work for this and i'm a huge fan of this movie still and watched it very much over the years.I will say when that happened back then when i was a kid my moms cousin was a flight attendant ,she got a picture on the plane with him cause this is when he was comming to film this movie at that time. I have no idea what happened to the picture cause it was so long ago but we later realized that was for this movie after that was so cool she met many stars over the years.
WOW after 30 years the old truck and trailer still sits there!!!! Make you wonder how long it sat there before the filming of the movie? It looks like it could have been there at least 20 years in the movie!! Sad people has shot it full of bullet holes in the last 30 years....
Even that old ass truck is still there after all those years. Hopefully it's still there when I type this.
Thanks for this video. Much appreciated.

Love this movie ..never realized how many fans pay tribute to this movie ..maybe Stallone should make the trip one day for all those fans
Matchless movie by the brilliant book by Mr. Morrell. This film had a huge impact on popular culture. To date.
Everytime I go out in the forest (I live in BC) a little Rambo always comes out.. you cant help yourself!
Thank you so much Herve. Meant a lot.

I'm not a big fan of Rambo, but I love this video. It's amazing that anything from such an old movie still exist !
This is one of the best films i've ever seen in my life. Thanks to all who made this possible and to all fans of First Blood.
Would be cool if Stallone showed up to the town and surprised them for the anniversary or movie nights and just hung out with the locals for the night

one of several films i have to watch at least once a year, good work!
Excellent. Rambo First Blood is my favourite childhood film. It's good to have this kind of insight after 30 years.
amazing how the landscape changes quickly in short time
30 years is far from a short time.
It still puzzles me a bit to see how the places have changed. Recogniseable, but changed.
True that!
totally awesome!!! I commend everyone who attended this very meaningful celebration!!!! Rambo is a classic!!!
God Bless John J.!!!!
I cry EVERY time with Dan Hill's Its a Long Road!!! Awesome song!!
This movie kicked so much ass. It gave birth to movies like this. There'd be no Die Hard or Independence Day without First Blood.
this movie is the reason i recently went out and bought an xt250 yamaha.
one my favor movie amazing actor so natural nothing compare to effects movies, i enjoy the documentary
