the truck reminds me of my grandfathers. he had a dairy and he welded a 4in pipe heavy wall for a bumper and then put fittings on it making it into a air tank
Just found your videos here and I'm enjoying them now. Things went a little different with my John Deere Green 1960 F100 short box step side Refrigerator. I bought the truck around 30 years ago. It was a rough virgin project truck. I drove it the way it was for a while. I decided to get to work on it started tearing it apart. Our landlord at the time didn't like that I was actually working on a truck in the garage. We ended up buying a house that needed some work and the truck got put on the back burner. You know life happens, a long story of What the Heck's. I kept the truck and the parts in the garage. About 5 or six years ago things have settled down and I got to work on the truck again. To shorting this long story, the fridge is finished now it runs a 390 FE and C6 transmission and an 8.8' rear axle, A Crown Vic donated the front cross member with a couple leaves removed from the rear springs lowering it a couple inches on all four corners. It's been painted a Blue Diamond, Satin and Wimbledon White, Gloss. Thes make great little trucks when they are done right, there's not many, on the road. 59 and 60 are the only Ford truck with the quad head lights. Hope you enjoy yours as much as I am.
I have a 2012 Vic and I want to do this. Just dont have a truck or shop or skill or everything else I need but, now I got some great videos on youtube to help my mind believe that I can do it. So I subscribed.
@@BestDamnShopAround thanks! Finding a truck is proving hard. All 4 of my kids learned to drive in that Vic. I just dont want it to die. I was thinking I should bag it. After seeing how low yours is I dont think thats needed.
@@shogibyvictortree5028 depends on what end goal you're going for but in my opinion this truck sits perfect! If you take into consideration that I didn't have to modify the crown Vic suspension at all and it rides and drives exactly like stock but appears to be extremely lowered is very cool!
I agree, I never used to like these trucks. Then I bought a 57 m100 that I’m Vic swapping and it has really grown on me. Trucks looking great keep it up.
I have an identical truck in maroon, currently sitting with a 322 Buick nailhead, but have a lead on a 2003 crown vic. Also have a 59 apache(you mentioned one in one of the videos). So many options.. 😂 your videos are great. Thanks for documenting the progress and sharing it with us. Cheers (raising my not-beer).
The nailhead is so cool but for function and reliability it's hard to beat a p71 crown Vic! The Apache is a long term project but it'll make it in the channel one day! Just trying to give back to the community by documenting so someone else can tackle it one day. Thank you for the support!
Great job again!! So true about being fairly rare and getting lots of looks. Just got a 60 short box back on the road. Almost identical color and patina as yours. So much fun. I mounted a rusty length of 2 3/8 tubing for a rear bumper just below the license plate. Looks good and simple.
Man it would be soo easy to mach that with a brush and house or car paint and thin it out and build your layers. Itll look wayy better then rust strips
@@BestDamnShopAround count me in as one of ur first. id love to have a truck done right. Specially a d100. I almost bought one from a shop around here and not done half as clean as this. Gl on ur growth on yt
If you can take a measurement of the bed from the front of the bed rail to the rear now that it's completed that would be awesome! Doing the same build and the bed was previously cut for a 63 swap. Wondering how far off it is!
@@FrigidairF100 Thank you for reminding me! Laying a tape measure on the top of the bedside on the very front edge then looking downward at the rear face of the tail light housing is 83 and 1/4 in If you're looking at it from the front edge of the bedside to the rear most edge of the stake pocket it's 81 and 3/4
Awesome exactly the measurements I was looking for! The views are creeping up! Hopefully soon you can make some $ from ads to help fund the build. Highly anticipating the next video!
What's with all those garage doors? Is that a place they rent out 1 bay garages for the D.I.Y type of guy? Been thinking on building a setup like that. But wasn't sure if be a market for it
I know its expensive.. but ide rather put the TCI Mustang 2 kit on the original frame. The bed area turns out better and you can fit any engine. I have a 56 with the TCI a 3 inch false bed and the M400/C6.. with Aussie 2v's. My 59 has a 8 inch lift on 32's and a Dana 60 front axle NP205 and M400/C6. I think the 57-60's look better than the 55-59 chevys.. i also have a Cameo.. Fordguy for sure!
Nice collection! Thought about doing the TCI but I bought the entire running crown Vic for less than half of that kit. I have another truck in the pipeline is going to get one though!
@@BestDamnShopAround ohh collection😏.. I have 2 more 56's and a Panel waiting.. a 69 mustang coupe and a 70 Mach1. 63 unibody, 51 F1 and 75 highboy.. hidden in the FAR NOR. gotta build a shop! And might start a UA-cam channel. Hotrods are a real man's hobby👍
@BestDamnShopAround it goes with the theme and there's a lot of springs to choose from you could make it look cool and functional without taking up space or cost
Don’t know why you couldn’t have made your own frame. better yet just put a crown Vic front end on it and keep the stock frame. that way wouldn’t have a big box in the bed.😱
😍Very very cool, would love to have that as a Shop Truck!!!!!!!!👍👍
Thanks! I'm excited too!

You could put a flat deck in with trap-door storage underneath at the front and rear
Good idea!
Rear bumper idea, something along the lines of the 70’s Camaro small bumperet I would call it on each side.
I was actually thinking something along those lines!
Love it! Chrome bumpers

They're 900 sq ft warehouse's. If the price and location is good they're very popular. We are full and have over 20 people on the wait list.
Are you keeping the spotlight on the vic body? I could use it
