  • I still obviously don’t know how to say Ocklawaha Outback (though I’ve learned Ocklawaha is a town in Florida), but one thing I do know is this messenger bag is the real deal. I have put it to the test, and so far, it has passed every test. I’ve loaded it down, filled it up to nearly bursting and the zipper has held, the handle and strap have held without issue. I also accidentally got it wet…long story, but it survived and so did the very expensive content.

It seems that us "birds of a feather" really do flock together LOL - I came across this older video by researching what Bible "systems" people use. I have personally been updating my "used" Bibles to some of the newer offerings and I am delighted with what is becoming available. I have been pondering this for a while lately and realized my dilemma in trying to be efficient and undistracted... there are three different TYPES of Bibles (and hence Bible "study"): 1) Studying the Bible to learn about God and history, 2) studying the Bible to learn more about myself and my spiritual growth. AKA devotional - and the 3rd is simply "reading" Bibles. This has created, for me, two systems that share my desk real estate but can easily be carried "by purpose" when I retreat somewhere away from my office, depending on what my objective is when I have my "A1" time. My "devotional" messenger bag set-up includes the Life Application TLB and a CSB "notetaking" wide-margin Bible (journaling my thoughts and feelings) as well as a NET without notes. My "study" set-up has my ESV journaling study Bible, My NET with notes and a KJV. With both systems, I bring my NLT with Filament®Bible. This is also my "reading" Bible. Then of course my marking kits and my journal AND thankfulness journal (they are two separate ones) come along with both. With my study kit, I also bring my tablet so I can access online resources. I do not bring it when I am being more devotional in my Bible reading, though sadly I still need to bring my smartphone to access the Filament data stream.

Thanks for the link to the NET blue Bible! I’ve heard from two Bible scholars/professors that the NET is their preferred translation.

I read Sherrill’s book right after I was HG filled at 13! Had no background in Pentecost at the time, so it was helpful for me at the time, to put this “mysterious” experience in perspective. I like the messenger bag!

Really enjoying your presentations, Pastor Tim. May you, your family, congregation and service to the Body of Christ be blessed. Love to hear something about your Faithwalk sometime. Where are you from? Assemblies? First or second generation of preaching? Full-time? And most importantly, where'd you get that cool sign-off motto? (as good as comedian Kountry Wayne's "Jesus is Poppin'.")[we need merch with your motto!!!!] Or should we wait to hear more info in one of your conversations with the other two Tims(Frisch and Wildsmith)? Only if it's not too personal. Anyway, one of your fans and Subbies. Greetings from a Jazz/Blues singing Missionary Baptist from Oakland exiled in central Germany. Auf Wiederhoeren und Alles Gute🌹🔥🌹

Great bag , super good review. I bought a Christianbook 15$ attaché case and it’s alright. For my everyday bible, I am trying to wean myself from a “ study bible “ to a thinkin man’s bible- WMRB. So I haven’t found the perfect travel bible, still looking however.

I'm not a KJV only guy but I can't get over the young woman use instead of virgin in the NET bible

    • @anickelsworthbiblereviews

I hear you. I don’t have as much of an issue with it because young woman and virgin mean essentially the same thing in the ancient Hebrew. Young woman, while more literal, is not more accurate. The Septuagint also goes with virgin, so it seems clear it is the better rendering.

@@anickelsworthbiblereviews It seems like people always complain about bible translations not being literal enough, then when it's literally enough...
hahah thanks for your insight. :)
