That phone description was hillarious! It's really a nice kit. I'm pretty sure that most hobbyshops that had it and the other ones are out of them, most people must have bought 3-4 of each. You should REALLY do a garage dio with all of this and show it to us. Would be pretty nice to see you build it from scratch, I'm sure we'd learn a thing or two from such a vid.
Working on this one along with the "weekend wrenching" kit and the " Beverly hills cop" release of the old pro 72 nova kit. Really neat diorama kits. I took the extra engine from the nova kit , cut off the transmission and mounted it on the engine stand.
Good job on the review. Coke machine is tip top! Dark red on jack looks beautiful. Turning adjustable vice is magnifique! Paint apps are spot on for garage mechanics today, or an actual garage 20-40 years ago. Poor Goober, needs to lay off the Schlitz, Piels, and the Billy bear or Cooter is going to use the AC on him, lol. Great job! Love your reviews!
very nice kit chris i will add this to my texaco filling station diorama all of these new shop kits are great keep up the great work .thanks again .john
Really nice set ..... Lol speaking of drinking oil back in the 80s at my buddies dads shop working on his Camaro his sister brought burgers he was chowing down & it fell in the oil good old PA Quaker State ... Said didn’t taste bad Lol
Would you put it in a 1:24 garage or can you get away with a 1:12 garage? I plan on getting a 1:12 house but I have this set, scared it will be too small!
Do all of you car/truck modelers scrap all the chrome and paint away before gluing or do use stuff like 5 min epoxy or topcoat so u dont have to clean and scrape?
Re watching this one again bcuz iv finnally purchased all the amt shop kits for my first diarama build ever. Im curious exactly what paints you used for the skin colors of all the figueres....
Got a question. When you say that you soak parts in Simple Green prior to painting, do you do it full strength or do you dilute it? Afterwards do you scrub it in Dawn dishwashing liquid or do you just rinse it off? Thanks.
Hi I am in the process of buying these 3 kits, I am just curious do you use spray can paint or do you use an air brush. If you use an air brush what would you recommend for someone who is getting started in air brushing. I have lots of various acrylic paints that I use on a regular basis just haven't built any styrene or plastic models. Blessings P. Randy Bourque
hey hpi guy, not to go off track here, but, i would like to know how to strip paint off a model kit without damaging the plastic, it's the 1/12 scale Ford GT40 MKII- HELP!! (I've gotten myself in the mood to re-paint and finish this car.)
Soak it in Super Clean degreaser for a few days, should come off after that. Other folks use Bleche White, or Brake Fluid, they all seem to work. Super Clean is cheap and easy to find. at Walmart and even takes off Rustoleum Enamels.
I left a car in Super Clean for a month (I forgot it) with no damage. Depending on the paint it may take from 1 - 7 days. After soaking use a soft brush and clean under warm water. A tooth brush works great in small areas.
The bald headed guy is cool. HHMMMM I wonder of hpiguy is bald? 1:31 I still have some figures and tools collected from other model company's (Tamyia and Revell) that I saved for some auto dioramas. It looks like I am going to have to pick this one up to add to it. In addition to having a figure that has a receding hair line. LOL
Man have you seen the fujimi garage kits? They come with tons of stuff and great detail. I did a little video on UA-cam you can check out my diorama and some of my cars if you would like it's a little long and not very good being it my first one. But I figured I would give it a try.

This is super cool! Fantastic build of this kit!
If you build the vice in Florida does that make it a Miami Vice? 😀
Hahahahaha!
So the figures including with the kit if so im buying this for sure for Nascar setup tho.
Re watching this one again bcuz iv finnally purchased all the amt shop kits for my first diarama build ever. Im curious exactly what paints you used for the skin colors of all the figueres....
Army Painter flesh color.
Thanks for watching, I loved the kit! Appreciate the support and nice words!

Just some simple green diluted in water and rinsed off. See my painting with cheap spray paint video to see how I do it.
I'll have to get me one!
Or two!
Too funny talking about the pay phone!!!!
Thanks!
AWESOME!!!
Thanks!

thanx, I'll try that, don't want to ruin a good kit, especially this one in particular Thanks!

Chris how does this compare to the Fujimi sets?
No idea, don't own any of the Fujimi stuff.

Pay Phone? in my day it was two shorts and a long
"Black Hills and Cheyenne Telegraph with an important message sir!"
I don't think my old eyes, and my diabetic fingers, would allow me to even try one of these kids.
Gooba aint to smart lol , his got up and carryed on with the spraying and the wing came adrift ☺
Bugs and dust all up in the paint!
So when are you gonna build a diorama? :)
Maybe they'll release a garage building after set #3 which is a car lift....

I would buy all 3 kits painted and built bc I am not one to be able to paint these also don't have the time working 60 hours a week
This is worth it just for the pay phone LMAO.
Lol had to many cold ones
Stumbly!
You had to actually TALK to people? The Horror!
Even worse, when it would ring you had no idea who was calling.......
@@hpiguy Oh, no!!!!
