Fricken awesome! Love the "lil boat". Thanks for the riggin tips on the skirts. I just started making my own and will try your set up. Gonna order from your sponsor!
Wow, what a fish. Haha I know how you feel, so relief to get that fish landed after a long fight. What a great reward at the ending. Something that every fisherman always wanted to do. You're lucky you're one of em. Expecilly all by yourself without any help! Unbelievable. It would've been a heart breaker if you hadn't landed him. That was an awesome video. I enjoyed every video of yours. It never gets old watching it.
Amazing one man show! I Love it, and relate with you on this. I Love fishing with people, but even more Love fishing alone in solitude, but I never feel alone?
ConGrats Sammy, i was in Phuket but we were outgunned on tuna gear, 10 to 1...very old and worn 25lb Samurai line and that blackie was on the other side of 130 maybe 150kg. Hook up at 215pm, and we parted company just before sunset. all the while on that same stretch of line, the line turned white from being dark green when we started. Its when they hang deep and sulk, thats when it really hurts.
Congrats on your first solo Striped Marlin mate. Awesome effort to get that one solo on a rod like that. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on trolling lures as well.
Excellent video and tops catch as always Sammy. Well done on doing it on your own and releasing. One thing you do that I never do is going to sea with a single motor without a backup of some sort, even a 8 hp for example.
Well done mate, that's a great catch, and solo makes it all the more memorable! I'd like some more info on the sashimi, like how would you cut it and serve it? The Japanese chefs seem to make a huge production of it.
Bill Stephens- One way lots of people that love sashimi but aren’t sushi trained do is buy a sauce called Kochi-Jan (not sure of the spelling) , but a good Asian market will have that korean prep. Slice thin and just swirl your fish with Kochi-Jan and away you go. You can add diced green onions and sesame seeds if you like as well. No big production with the Korean stuff, though.
Excellent effort Sammy. On a downer mate, you're fishing alone at sea. I've pulled a guy from the water, an hour in it, no life vest and he was stuffed. Wear the kill cord, it's there hanging from the console and wear a vest when you're alone. The coast guard and water coppers will have to spend 3 days searching for you if you go over the side.
G’day Lindsay, appreciate the concern mate, That belt I’m wearing is a inflatable PFD 100. I also wear a PLB on the same belt. I might not be able to stay with the boat if I fell out but I’ll be able to stay afloat and they will be able to find me nice and quick 👌👌🍻🍻
Awesome mate. Cracker Stripy in 110m of water!! Hard yaka on that gear. Reminds me of when I hooked up in a 55kg YFT on the only 24kg rod in a spread of 37lg gear 😂😳 live fibre struggled like I did. Lol. Had sushimi for dayz 🤙🤙
Awesome catch mate totally jealous! That’s a catch of a life time from where I’m sitting here on the east coast of FL. If feel like I need to take a trip aboard and check it out for myself!! Tight lines brother and keep up the good work!
Thats a damn big striped marlin bro! Biggest one I ever caught was in Cabo and he was about 150 lbs……which is really big for down there so you did really good mate. Maybe they get bigger in Aussie. But still a beast! Congrats. So now to go get some meat fish!😎👍👍
Great fish Sammy I’ve always wanted to catch a marlin and in this video you have inspired me to try even harder I thought it would have been the middle rod with the blue on it but I was wrong and that fishing you never know
So sick mate awesome catch🤙, last Christmas I fought a barrel blue fin tuna for 8 hours after hooking on topwater with a little stick bait on 40lb braid and leader, sadly snapped the leader
Brutal. Lost a massive long tail tuna a couple of months ago. Got it to the kayak then it dove and broke the rod. Got it back again and it broke the hook knot head shaking when I tried to grab it. At least we both have a good reason to keep trying I guess.
@@SammyHitzkeFishing I spent 2.5 hours solo on a marlin on a Tiagra 50w set up...I thought that was bad enough...I take my hat to ya Sammy top effort...
Whats your braid strength, 80 lb? On wire extensions right? Your boat is 5m? Youre out 30 miles towards edge of shelf? Snazing videos i cant wait thanks!
Congratulations mate . Epic battle. Love how Rodney had a go on the rod too lol . Down here at Port Stephens it’s the home of the striped marlin on the shelf . With blacks and blues mixed in . Have a Awesome Christmas. Tight lines

I did a video on sashimi a little while ago actually. I’m definitely no expert on it, but I have a go 👌👌
