Nice install ! Been a while since I did a custom system. Twin JL Audio 12" W7 ,Alpine amps, monster cable, dynamat extreme, capacitors...Boston Accustic ......kits are so much more convenient.... jealous of your ride though, Badass 👍
Just installed the Gen 3 Stage 5 on my new 2021 X3. Install is relatively straight forward- but time consuming. Give it a weekend if you’re doing it yourself. Worth the time and effort though. It’s a beautiful install. In terms of sound- Disable the preset on the M5 amps and set the gains and X-overs yourself. Terrible attempt at optimization and sounds absolutely awful if left on the preset factory settings. The 6.5s are extremely bright if the EQ is flat and need to be tamed with the EQ on the PMX3. Subs are also crossed over at 120 right out of the box and is too high and they become directional as hell. The 6.5s are good down to 60hz or so and do great crossed over at 80 where the subs should take over. The M2 Subs have plenty of punch even at 55mph. I added a ton of poly fill to each enclosure before install to get a little extra low end extension. They roll off pretty sharply below 45hz which is what you would expect for a pair of moderately powered 10s in a half cube sealed. That being said they will let you know they’re there. The M2s are a welcome upgrade to the primes. The system honestly sounds great once you undo all the factory presets. I couldn’t be happier. The new subs and amp have more than enough headroom to impress and the 6.5s sound smooth and silky once you calm them down with the PMX’s EQ. Color Optix on the fronts and cans are gorgeous and really look sharp. Very happy with the purchase and well worth the time and effort.
Any way that I could get a hold of you? To talk me through on how to tune my stage 5? With the factory settings it’s horrible. It’s so distorted and drives me nuts
@@JoseSilva-je5dr Are you getting distortion due to reaching the mechanical limits of the drivers, or is this a clipping issue? First thing is to disable the factory presets on the amp. There’s a switch on the amp. To set the crossovers, you can either do it electronically on the PMX or the amp. I did both. Switch the sub/rear channel filter to LPF and the front channel filter to HPF. Set them both to 80hz. If memory serves, i did increase the gain on the rear/sub channel slightly. I set my gains by ear with a vehicle off, but if you don’t know what distortion actually sounds like then have it set professionally with a DD-1 or scope- this is ESPECIALLY important for low frequency drivers. My background is in high end home audio so it’s easy for me to hear, but the majority of people don’t have any clue what distortion sounds like (just go to any large lake in the summer). The rest can be done with the PMX to your liking. I leave the lower frequency bands flat (0 gain) and then I trough rather aggressively starting around 1.5khz to cool off the aluminum tweeters. Otherwise you’re overpowered with the letter “S” and cymbals- this is obnoxiously fatiguing. A +1 bump at 250hz is helpful if you like a little warmer sound (I do personally). Use the sub volume on the deck for fine adjustments with various tracks. Don’t expect much below 45hz. You’ll feel it in the seat below that but there’s a huge audible drop off. This is NOT a rap system as far as I’m concerned. Too much open air and not enough enclosure volume or surface area to get that kind of extension. The subs peak in the mid 50s. Sounds great for everything else-especially rock, country and dance. Hope that helps.
I'm trying to take off the driver panel I took off all the bolts on top and around the steering wheel and I still can't get it off is there any other clamps underneath
So I guess that it is not a good idea to ride in the creeks with the amps under water. Water comes in bike up to the seat. Your bottom gets wet so woofers and amp would be under at times. Do y’all think that the system would work for me? Thanks
so am i understanding the step right? so the amp has different input for the sub and the regular speakers? so you use the speaker output from the stereo and run it to the amp and then run the sub output to the sub input on the amp?
You do not have to find the fuse box. There is a plug that is snapped into a dummy outlet above the start button by 5-7 inches and to the passenger side slightly. That will provide your switched power.
I have a 2020 and I’m in the process of installing it right now but I’m having trouble with the sun enclosures because my break line runs through the bottom of the seats
Wrenches & Rides yeah I had to cut a zip tie and then there is a T20 bolt u have to unscrew under the shift gate where the break lines T off and then you can move the lines to get enough slack to set the subs in place.
Have a rf t1000 powering to ps3 12s in my boat. Have two after market stereo batts and upgraded alternator to make sure boat starts.... do you have to do a dif stator or additional batt for this system or only run it when engine is on ?
Have you ever installed one with a Smart Lok module under the driver side dash? If you have, where do you attach it because the fosgate replacement dash does not have the mount posts for it
Yes, but only to a point. I would not want them to be in a mud rig that goes underwater completely. They will withstand normal trail riding and washing.
Be respectful when around others. We ride where other people are not most of the time. Also, the wound does not travel out of the cab like you would think.
Wrenches & Rides same with my boat. Loud as shit inside the boat, but not too bad once you get out away from it. Just be respectful and don’t be a dick. Pretty simple.
I do not have an accurate meter. I have my machine set up (via amp controls) that it can be run at full volume and not distort on a variety of songs. I ride with a helmet (Full face with shield) and I can tell you that at full volume it is almost too loud in the helmet and my seat shakes. I could not listen at full volume long without a helmet.
Worth every penny!, amazing sound quality, and yes it’s expensive, but compared to price of what it’s going in.. oh well just live a little, and rock out with your.......
We have a rzr turbo s 1000 with stage 5 we only ride on oregon dunes and we wear goggles most the time so.sound is great and the times we wear helmets its still good
Yes, but the subs will collect water on top of them after a wash. I take a towel and soak up the water. While on the trail it is no issue, especially if they are on.

Kits are so simple now! Lots of work going into this Can-Am!
Thank you! Getting ready to do this in my x3 max!
Getting mine installed Wednesday on my 2020 can am xrs turbo rr. Excited for the sound!!
I just ordered the same model can am, im so excited!!

Just started my install today. Any pointers for top notch sound playing metal, country, and rap?

So much for getting that thing in water now

I’m lost can you help?! At 3:25 you say drop it to the fuse box. I can’t find the fuse box??

Play some Three 6
5k is crazy
Link on that tire rack bracket?
How do those front speakers mount? Are there separate pods or do you have to drill holes in the dash? You didn’t show that in the video.
They come with new dash panels ready to mount the speakers.
I have a 2020 and I’m in the process of installing it right now but I’m having trouble with the sun enclosures because my break line runs through the bottom of the seats
I remember something with that on our 19. I think we were able to remove a few brackets and move them over.

We have been running our on the stock battery without issue. I do not use it for long periods without the machine on.
Do a follow up video
What do you want to see or know?
How is it holding up it’s been a year since install
will the subwoofer boxes fit under the seats if the seats are in the lowered position?
Yes, it will be tight, but they fit.
No worries the subs being submerged?
No worries about that. Try to wash them after a lot of mud, but they tend to clean themselves. These are marine grade and water is no big deal.
Yeah man I'm not a big fan of under seat subs..... they hold up good but when you get debris on them they rattle really bad
Can one get this type for the 2014 can am maverick max
Have you ever installed one with a Smart Lok module under the driver side dash? If you have, where do you attach it because the fosgate replacement dash does not have the mount posts for it
We have not. We just got our 19 from Can Am. Will try it soon.
Can those amps withstand getting wet?
Yes, but only to a point. I would not want them to be in a mud rig that goes underwater completely. They will withstand normal trail riding and washing.
Do I wanna be the guy on the trail with a 1000 stereo in his Side by Side.

Do you sell only those dash speaker enclosures.
We do not sell anything, but Rockford will sell only the dash enclosures.
what was the decibel level?
I do not have an accurate meter. I have my machine set up (via amp controls) that it can be run at full volume and not distort on a variety of songs. Is everything waterproof?
Yes, but I would not want to pack the amp with mud over and over.
Nice system but at 3200 dollars Ill listen to the engine
Right? Way over priced!

ice cubse ghetto bird didn't expect that !😂😂🤣🤣
Will this fit a 2019 X3??
Yes, Some will switch the sub boxes to make it fit on a 19. RF is coming out with new boxes to fit soon.
Whoever asked if the system can get wet....Slap your self!!!
Smh it's going on an all terrain car!! What you think!! 🤦♂️🙄
Lol at the peeps who install stereos in race cars and sxs... Must sound awesome with your helmet on while crushing trails..
It actually does sound nice!
Those who dont get it....cant afford it!

Rockford?
For the price the sound isn’t that great
Do the sub boxes sit flush on the floor? Concerned about water after power washing....
Yes, but the subs will collect water on top of them after a wash. I take a towel and soak up the water. While on the trail it is no issue, especially if they are on.
