    the old Porsche 4 cylinder boxer is the most stable engine design for this test look it up and try to recreate that at 33K

    Try it like a real motor, oil tray on crank shaft and covers for the pistons.

    Try attaching the pistons better I have these engine's and the piston aren't attactched with anything but a ball joint the turning force is making the piston fly out it is not the legos breaking but it looks like it because it's going so fast it's the same thing f1 had to overcome to have motors to run at 14 grand easy same concept as if a weed wacker can run at 12 grand easy because it has one piston easy to pull that lightpiston back down but say a ford 460 motor stock can't run over 6000 or it flies apart due to the weight of the components spinning it destroys itself so I want to see what happens if you could somehow "reinforce" the piston and maybe the crank arms to have a stronger connection?

    man, how about instead of using V engines, u make radial, like a ww2 plane. it can handle high revs, try it.

    increase speed by placing a 2x4/6/8x1 plate bar with holes to maintain the pistons inside the motor , so they will not fly away

    Just close I I have never even touched a Lego motor so I don't know much, but I would think that it would help if you closed off the cylinders.

    In the V8 version the weak points look to be flex from cylinder heads and crank.
    I suggest removing the Crankshaft Center (2854) replace with Engine Crankshaft (2853).
    Use Connector Block 1 x 5 x 3 (32333) between each set of Engine Cylinders.
    Technic, Plate 2 x 8 with 7 Holes (3738) for Cylinder heads. To try and keep the pistons from poping off, holes are to try and prevent air resistance.
    Maybe some kind of dripper to keep oil applied to crank and pistons while running

      I would try the v6 as the Technic Plate I listed will fit perfectly.

    Well the first one before the oil died because of wear and heat. The ones here did not suffer heat or wear but part breakage. That is the actual failure of the parts themselves. The oil did help and do its job.

    Use some bearings for each piston in the crankshaft. Super glue the inside ring of the bearing to the crankshaft. Then attach the piston rods by super glue on the bearing(make sure the crankshaft has a wide interval for the bearing)

    Whats happening is the moter is getting overheated because of friction. Great attempt with the oil, but you need to build the motor with a FULLY functional and contained oil feature, like in a real engine. Also, you should have put the oil on the INSIDE, not on the exterior. Try making the motor in a concealed box, so the oil won't be going anywhere!

      its easy search up lego engine pistons and shaft
      then connect them up its easy
      then find some 4 by 2 lego pieces and stack em
      you need axle so that the pistons turn accordingly
      make sure they are snug to avoid chipping

  • @madmoto9788
    @madmoto9788 6 років тому

    my recommendation is to super glue a valve cover over the pistons for more durability

    • @davidmarocik7506
      @davidmarocik7506 6 років тому

      MadMoto yeah, super glue the valve covers on and make some kind of cage under it so the pieces don't go everywhere?

    • @saruman2369
      @saruman2369 6 років тому +2

      the piston heads would still break off, even with a valve cover, they just wouldn't go flying

      autoplay station what pin? It was just a weak ball joint.

    • @rydoggo
      @rydoggo 6 років тому

      autoplay station in normal Lego Technic engines, they use ball joints as con rods.

    • @rydoggo
      @rydoggo 6 років тому

      autoplay station if you look at the connection rods when the pistons fly off they have rounded ends.

    • @rydoggo
      @rydoggo 6 років тому

      autoplay station yeah, then either your conrods won't be able to move or you'll break a block or the crankshaft.

  • @joshuafulton5044

    Going off of the other comments people are saying to make your engine strong get and more stable. So just make the whole dang engine out of metal!!!!!

      Joshua Fulton aluminium con rods and connecter pins. That's all you need to have a stable high rpm Lego motor.
