Well yes i bought a Tesla S Plaid :-) as daily car
The all world know that the S plaid is an autobahn monster and the king of the 400m….but what about on a narrow, twisty super slippery rally road?
I must say the result is pretty amazing!!
Here is a gentle driving on plaid mode to understand the yoke steering wheel and the balance of the car
Iam honnest, the result is astonishing for one 2170kgs big whale!
The car is equipped with the optional 21 » wheels and michelin Pilot alpin 5 (winter tire), all the rest is stock
The road was slippery dirty and 7°c outside temperature
On the downhill side i did not experienced any bad feeling on brakes, but i must say that i used a lot the regen
engine mode: plaid
Suspension: confort
steering mode: confort
Let’s see in 2023 for some nurburgring test :-)

If the car doesn’t overheat after two quick laps honnestly it will be the absolute best sport (stock) sedan ever
I know some 800hp m5 who cannot finish a single fast lap with out electronic issue and overheating 😅
And every taycan are in limp mode after the middle of the second fast lap 🤷🏻♂️

Hi Sebastian, the roads and environment look so familiar to me 🙂. Like you, I enjoy driving on these kind of roads in the WE at a reasonable speed but it is more than enough for slippery conditions. No need a lot of power, I used to drive my previous Model 3 in comfort mode, tempering reactions with RWD. If you have the opportunity to drive around the Lac of Roselend, go on, you will find turns but also straight lines (a few years ago, I rent a Guilia QV to go there and also a Camaro). If you need a partner, I would be happy to be part of the trip 😉.
I have the project to do « tour du mont blanc » with the plaid in june

It is a very nice experience to use it!, but on track and super fast driving it is not optimal

Did you get some experience with hard driving on the autobahn yet? Will it run into thermal limitation?
Yes i tried multiple top speed 280km/h
No problem at all except that the range come to 100kms instead 600kms at those kind of speed 😅

How do you like it compared to M3P?
It is the step up in every way especially confort and quality of building , but i still love my tm3 because the compact size and easy handling + discrepancy in traffic
Now Tesla offers normal round steering wheel. You can retrofit it.

At my opinion the model 3 is still the best daily car of the market, especially for the compact size, easy handling etc
When driving fast on twisty road with the kw setup, it is a really nice toy 😃👍🏻
But yes the S is the big brother, way more confortable, very good quality build, super fast and the best for traveling
But she is a bit big for every day use at my opinion 🤭
No carbon brake package, too expensive
I will choose the mountain pass perf big disc kit (from girodisc) with carbotech pads, high temp liquid and brake brace and i think it will be enough for some more confidence in the brakes in hard use
Seb, avant le nurburgring, passe la suspension en Mountain Pass Performance ou Unplugged Performance, ca change tout ;) Meme si le choix de coilovers est limite pour le moment (le kit Ohlins UP a 16K !! ) Presse de voir ca !
Les suspensions oem sont tres tres bien, surtout le train avant avec double triangulation !
Mettre de telle suspensions course n’a pas de sens car sur une telle auto car on perdrai en polyvalence pour un gain de quelques secondes sur le ring, rien a voir avec les suspensions manthey sur porscje qui sont plus performante que oem mais aussi plus confortable pour tous les jours 😃
un bon kit freins fera l'affaire 👍🏻
@@sebastianvittel74 Sans aller dans l'extrême de ce kit, quand il y aura des alternatives ca vaudra le coup même en OEM. J'ai un full setup MPP sur ma Model 3 et c'est le jour et la nuit vs OEM (aussi une double triangulation sur la 3) et aussi bon en confort... Si tu veux mettre du carrossage et mieux régler ta suspension il faudra passer par là :). Regarde les catalogues par curiosité :)

Why does the steering wheel have to be round? I mean, GT3 Races, Formula Races... most of those don't have round wheels so I don't see what you're complaining about. Besides, oval racing is boring compared to any other motorsport.
