This is a very powerful unit. I bought one when it came out. I used to play worship music for a local church and this was my rig. The more i played with the the more I love it. To a point when i joined a metal band and I used it for gigs and never had an issue. Eventually i switched to regular pedals BUT I kept using the GT-100 for rehearsals. I sold my ME 70 and ME 80 and kept this unit.
Bought one of these a year ago. It was so damn complicated. I'm always too stoned to read an instruction manual and all the videos on UA-cam made it even more complicated, so I tossed my $500 brick in the closet. Then I saw this video and I remember why I was so excited to blow 1/2 a G on this thing. Thank you. Simple. Straight forward. English.
This unit still hasn't failed to amaze me this my wife's phone 🤣 don't plan to rid of it anytime soon go with the flow just don't be scared of it thank you for your demonstration Rock on and everything else
Your vid turned a decorative dust eating device in a useful instrument to me. I'm now testing to find the setting to simulate the DigiTech Freq Out. But thanks to your instructions I know at least how to look for it.
Outstanding, thanks so much for simplifying ☺. I'm just an acoustic guy and this dig/elec world is an overwhelming minefield that I stepped into. A bit like taking a guy from Backwater, Nebraska and dumping him/her into the middle of Time Square, Piccadilly Circus, Shibuya and telling them to go fill their boots 😱😬
A couple of things about this unit that was sure thing that I wanted was the two features that made it easier for me. One they set up the tuner and Manual mode with pushing two buttons together like the Boss ME models. That was a huge relief for me because with the GT-8 and Gt-9 I had use the ctl. pedal they had there to assign them for tuner and Manual mode which now force me to use a separate pedal switch to use for the solo and extra mod patch. With this feature, I can now use less switchers and cables, which is a convenience to me.
Well done my friend! You're articulate, well organized and prolific at demonstrating and teaching of technological equipment. You should probably see about doing this for companies with reimbursements of one sort or another.
I've binging on your videos. Seem like a really cool person, laid back, no eho and just fun. And no gear snob kind of videos... Thank you for these videos. Been wondering about getting this pedalboard or a line 6 one so your videos have been awesome. Cheers from Portugal!
I bought this when it first came out, I was still in highschool and a real beginner at playing the guitar, well I couldn't understand it or work out how to use it so I took it back to the shop a week later haha
Nice. I wish in my country we have the same consumer's privilege. We don't do "return policy" here haha so after you make a purchase all risk is yours. But there's at least one advantage : price is way cheaper here. I got my MIJ RG6xx for 700USD, normal price in sweetwater was about 1200. And my other RG, a rare one, got it for 1000USD. On promusictools it was 1400EUR (yes, euro).
@@raymondjames1341 yes it was made clear on the receipt “no return for purchased item(s)” haha sorry English not my first language. I think because we are used to this we became more selective and always think a lot before purchase. You can return it if it’s under warranty and get replaced but not apply to all. Household appliances for example. But musical instruments are almost always no return policy. I’m from Indonesia
@@raymondjames1341 Me-80 is good but the looper is hard to use. Me-80 is good for live performances and at home compare to GT100 which has a lot of tweaking and fixing around. But sound wise GT100 is much better, tho its not far off.
Having a user bank full of user patches & a separate preset/factory setting gives the user the ability to hear a particular sound, tweak it & store it in *his* own patch. Later, should he be curious about a parameter within the original, he can locate that original patch & have a permanent reference source for it. Priceless in my experience.
There's also a feature called "easy tone" where you are able to select a "style" like punk, metal, surf, country, ambient etc.... This is the best way to have a starting point for creating your own patches.

I've been strictly a pedal guy for many years but have finally considered getting one of these to play with and I'm going nuts trying to figure out what to get.
@@jozjonlin3170 Thanks for replying. Btw have you ever considered the ME 80. I realise it’s a very different class of device but I am tempted because of its simple layout. It’s either that or the GT 100 for me.

Depends on your budget. For the price, I think the GT100 is still a very usable pedalboard. But if you can afford it, the newer Boss GT1000 or Line 6 Helix are better investments. They have the most up-to-date modeling software, features, and a better user experience.

Sayak P Chatterjee usability and the overall quality of the effects. POD 500x is hard to adjust while playing due to the small display and has less customization via the pc, the gt100 also has the capability to convert the guitar signal into a midi source and also allows direct recording into DAW

Gt-100 brother. Why?, Because It's filled with so many Boss pedals w/classic sounds that have already been proven to stand the test of time. @@fathermarcus7808 like the GT-100 you must tell the Unit what it's plugged into. By default these boards arrive in full stereo with amp modeling on. This sounds unbelievable when plugged into headphones or even computer. Guitar Amps (most) have a mono guitar input. So you need to find the setting that lets you tell the device to output a mono signal with no modeling. On the gt-100 it's in settings and there are options for computer, guitar amp, guitar amp return, combo amp, stack amp etc..... Also, the preset you use must be created with this in mind.
