Hahaha... the ad was fantastic. I was confused at first and it just kept getting better. Great build. Love the videos man. 10k right around the corner!
The pattern in the steel may not be that bold but to me sometimes the more subtle some details are the better. In the case of the knife you made in this video I believe this to be the case. Looks very nice to me.
Great build (as always) - just one tip: I'm sure you know it, but just in case you don't... It's much easier to use spray paint than correction stuff. Just buy a cheap white spray can, I got mine in Bauhaus ;), spray inside and you're golden.
Yeah similar carbon content but still came out pretty cool! I’ve been saving old razor blades for years to try the same thing. Only have a forge so can’t do a soak like that, that’s why I’m waiting. Supposedly the ones I’m saving are AEB-L so might be a waste of time🤷🏻♂️. Thanks for sharing
depending on how your canister turns out, might still be an amazing result. stainless steels are way harder to weld but still possible even in a coal forge if you're careful enough with your canister
You need something that has titanium dioxide in it. Aka titanium white, E171. The whitest white pigment, found in toothpaste, paints, pills, plastics, sunscreen and yes whiteout. But probably in very different concentrations 😋 Worked in a factory that made it; that shit will never come out of your car carpets 😅😅
@MartinHuber_Knives orrrr...trade out the scalpel blades for a pile of turnings from under the drill press..those spring swirls..just clean them the same.
Hi Martin, i heard you say the colour of the steels are the same because of the carbon? It is the nickel that does that. I use 1095 powder if i need it to be black and 1095 with nickel if i need it to be silver. What powder do you have there?
@@MartinHuber_Knives I bought nickel powder on aliexpress and mixed it in the normal 1095 🙂 but how the f.... does the blade not go black in the acid??? Very weird. Maybe put it in coffee and see if that does something.
@@johnjohnson643 blade probably went black during etching, but since theres no way to etch for depth on this it probably just washed or polished away. In normal damascus steel the only reason the dark colour stays like that is because of a deeper etch on the darker steels, since nickel alloyed steels resist etching way better
Martin: If I make a blade out of razor blades, it'll be razor sharp :D Me: Bruv, it ain't work that way F| Also, that face at 2:15 XD On a serious note tho, you missed a chance there - you could've made a clip point like a seax to really drive in that this knife was made out of scalpels XD
This is like the 2nd or 3rd time this week I saw someone making a knife out of razor blades. Aren't those usually something crappy like 440 stainless or something?
Martin, mir fehlt da etwas. Du kannst die Klinge nur noch mit der Hand schärfen. Da fehlt ne kleine Lücke an der Schneide. Glaub du weisst was ich meine.
@@MartinHuber_Knives I think that patterned really cool for no nickel added and you seem to be the master of handle finishing....Thank you for your time...

a very cool and beautiful blade 👍
like the combination of the rough structured spin and the polished damascus and the dark wood
Thanks :)
That was great advice with the red marker, will be using that this weekend. Thanks again!
Thanks for watching!
Nice, some nickel powder next time perhaps for a bolder difference but the subtle look still works
I already ordered some 🤣🙌🏻

Why un forged in fire when they do the canister thing it’s harder for them to pull it off then it was for you and they use white out
its all a thing of - how you forge your cannister
White spray paint is so much easier
