NoDak, you forgot your can of Busch Light when you said you're a former ATC! Watchability _ruined_ for me! (I hit like before the video loaded, of course. This content is always gold.)
@NoDak Express Gaming you should check out the game "I Am an Air Traffic Controller 4" it's a nice little Japanese ATC simulator, plus it has an airport for both military and civilian aircraft in one dlc. The only downside is that the game and the dlc are expensive as hell.
Except from What Goes Up Might Come Down: "-and the man right at *that* end of the table is the outbound controller from Heathrow, who is a sadist. Been highly trained to be completely unusable, and his intention in life is to get the planes off the ground at the fastest possible rate. So he laughes the first one straight ahead, next one left, next one right, straight ahead, left, right. He can keep that up all day, one a minute. The man next to him is the catcher."
Great stuff. Learned how to do a point out in the game. If you’re serving up requests can you do MCI where you’re running approach, departure and satellite radar. I fly weekly with the ladies and gents at KC center an approach and they are champs. However, it’s one on south and one on north running the whole smash
Speaking of “fully staffed,” I met a woman whose husband works radar at MCO. In the course of conversation it came up that his day off is Wednesday. His one day off. He works 60 hours a week right now because traffic is back, but the controllers aren’t 😂 (As people know, so many in the air travel world retired in the past two years) I wonder if anything in the air travel world will ever be “fully staffed” again for various reasons.
yep that shift schedule sounds about right. oh gosh and it rotates. So on thursday and friday that guy might work 6am to 5pm. then on saturday and sunday he might work 12pm (noon) to 8pm. then he might work 3pm to midnight on monday and tuesday before his day off. They wanted everyone to be able to handle all of the traffic (which ebbs and flows each day) so you didn't have one shift that worked all of the 6am rush shifts or just one just getting the easy overnight shifts. it was bonkers. very difficult to get normal sleep!
@@NoDakExpress I don’t know how people do it. He managed to get days (this week), but he’s also pretty senior. I can’t even imagine what a newbie schedule looks like 😳 And he has kids. Does he ever see them? This is so hard on families, too. These shortages trickle down to affect so much.
I wasn't ATC I was just a Swissport Ramp Agent, and I can definitely attest to the fully staffed lol. I had to carry the ramp I was on most with minimal help a couple of times.
Waterski was the call sign for Trans State Airlines which was a regional the did American And United regional work for years then went to United only and was a victim to the pandemic.
You can go in and edit the configuration file and stop the supervisor with all the messages. Just do a search on UA-cam for editing. That would help you out.

I have no clue what I am watching but it's making me stressed lol, good video though, subscribed!
Play London control, it's an awesome ATC simulator.

Are there still shortages in the staff these days?
Is game even managed anymore?? Looking in the Twitter there hasn’t been a tweet since 2017! Wish this game was on steam also.
how much lore does this game have?

Aren't the weather radars on the aircraft more up to date as well?
Great video from.
If you confuse a 140 heading with 000 you shouldn’t be in a plane.
Yeah..
Where did you get this game I’d like to check it out.
"LOF5027, we didn't want to go south anyway."
It would be cool if you could get a go-around in the rain.
So is there a game like this but you’re on a carrier?
zero dislikes, as it should be
