the hard shift from the pro xp is from clutch alignment, check the spacers behind the secondary bolt and make sure it isn't rolling with the primary at idle. I work at a polaris dealer and see that common on new machines, usually 5 spacers come on all of them from the factory and I remove one or two and it makes a big difference
It must suck as a UA-camr, when you read comments of people who didn't watch 3 minutes of a 19 minute video. I admire that, even though they are wrong, you answer the comments with restraint and respect. Great video, and although this is my first time here, I'll sub and probably binge the channel. Thanks for putting a video like this out there. I'm really looking hard at getting one of these now. It looks like it could be a really tough machine. Keep on churning out the content bud and thanks again.
I have the base xp pro my passenger door completely latches with ease but I have to slam the driver door to get it to completely latch it you can nitpick all day long but over all I am 150% satisfied with this machine!
the clunk clunk after going WOT to full brake is the clutch "back shifting"/shifting to a lower gear ratio. all cvt powered SXS do that. the honda doesn't have a cvt transmission.
Just bought a 2019 rzr 1000 s. Still learning the sxs life!!! Thanks for the video. I hear mine squeek and rattle and thought that wasn't normal. Keep up the good work bud
Hello, I own a 2 seater pro xp ultimate with 1800km which is probably around 1300 miles give or take, and i hear the same sound from the clutches, it's normal and it's not loud compared to other UTV'S its actually good. The doors aren't broken . you just need to push it in until it locks into place...... . The gearbox's problem where you need to jerk it into reverse, its a problem in every Polaris Rzr.
btw you dont need to slam the door ,when you get it in pull it slowly towards you ,and when it clicks the first time pull it in with pressure ,thats how the proxp's doors work.
SXS Shuster check if the whole 6 point belt is in the proxp , sometimes my door won’t latch properly and when my friends ride past me they inform me that part of my 6 seatbelt is outside the door . You’ll get used to checking to have the belt in the utv and to latch it properly overtime , it took me a while .
SXS Shuster it’s a good unit overall , just let me know if you have questions . And let me know how long it takes to go through a belt with normal riding
I’ve been doing the “side by side” thing since 2004. RZR’s are amazing and super fun but unfortunately they have always had issues. That’s one reason people are buying Can Am’s. They seem to hold up better. I went with a Yamaha YXZ and it’s rock solid and has bulletproof reliability. But I admit it doesn’t have 180+ horsepower! That being said Polaris has seemed to up their game lately...
DUNE YXZ they all have there issues, this is in no way putting Polaris down. I think the rzr pro xp is the best on the market. I had a yxz before my rzr. I didn’t like it at all. The clutch is a ticking time bomb for trail riding. It did handle amazing in the sand pits! I could see myself getting a can am eventually. But I’m keeping that Pro XP forever!
SXS Shuster I agree. But we have four YXZ’s one with 200+ horsepower that hauls ass. All have high miles with no clutch issues. Go watch “TCB OFFROAD” to see what a YXZ can do.
I’ve watched them. Great channel! For the trail riding I do I prefer a CVT. Those guys are all phasing out of the yxz and getting rzr’s. For the trail riding the manual yxz basically bashed into stuff and flies over it. Typically what I’ve observed from watching there channel is they’ll rip up something in a yxz and it looks epic but the next scene is a rzr or x3 crawling over same obstacle with a lot more control. I would be interested to drive a paddle shift yxz with an upgraded suspension. I’m sure it would be amazing!
DUNE YXZ actually I was wrong that guy in the silver yxz is really amazing! I do watch him as well. He’s beasts pretty much everything in that yxz! I wonder if that’s a manual or a paddle?
I'm glad you like it I sold mine after eleven hundred and fifty miles I had the ultimate and I went back to the Turbo S which is what I had before. I will say I did like the response of the extra power and the handling on the flat ground. The Sand dune riding turbo s's got it beat hands down in the trails with rock crawling Turbo S once again has it beat. Go to the front of that machine and flick the bottom of that LED light and look how flimsy tail lights are the same way
I love it! Turbo S is good too! FYI the front lights are actually on springs so they’re supposed to move. I took the front end apart one day to figure that one out lol. I check the tail lights to make sure they’re tight. They made them to move rather than rattle loose.
For your door here is the part # you need BUMPER-DOOR 5417120 and WASHER,NYLON 7555916. I just picked up my Pro XP and this is what came on mine. The doors do not RATTLE at all. Hope this helps if you decide to fix the rattle. If you go to Babbit's Polaris Performance parts page you will be able to see where these go.
pat cayton I didn’t realize that you have to close them and clip them in. The driver side didn’t rattle the passenger side does a little. I try to be gentle with stuff so I don’t break it and I never realized that those doors are two stage lol. I’ll mention it in a follow up video.
@@bobbyb608 and then I’ll wave when I drive past you after you blow a belt or something else breaks 😂 I had a RZR before my XX. I know which machine is built better from experience. Have fun on the Polaris bandwagon 😂😂
nice review. they are solid machines and i think the issues you are seeing can be fixed fairly easy. the door latch is a two state latch. Slam them to make sure you get into the second stage. it should be tight. if not i think there are some aftermarket bumpers pads that help with the rattle.
Nice points you’ve made. Just be glad you didn’t go with the X3 on noise factors; it’s a squeakiest suspension and loudest most annoying intake noise I’ve ever heard. The X3 build quality, however, is much better for doors and steering, and suspension except it bottoms out if not adjusted. They all have issues and are overpriced IMO.
Nice video. I've heard that lubing the shock mounting points helps with suspension noise. These Polaris rides are just noisy. My 2003 Suzuki Eiger is still as silent as the day I got it but is nowhere near as capable as my RZR.
Josh Owens there aren’t really a lot of issues to fix. That was kinda the whole point of the video. There’s some small stuff that wear as a result of use but that’s about it. Some other brands require changing serious hardware within the first couple hundred miles.
I know this video is old but thought I would point out a good bush fix for the door rattle. A few winds of electrical tape maybe 4 or 5 around the door catch and problem solved. When it gets worn redo it
I have the same buggy. The doors are a noisy mess. I found the head of the striker bolt hits the latch you can grind the head a bit or like I did I bent the striker inward atiny bit and it catches the second click now very easy.
I tried this quad and what a leap from the turbo S, no need to change the suspension its really good, the noises and squeaks are normal man. Also you can adjust ride height(the one you pointed your fingers to be used with different springs) its in the manual no need for springs if you want my opinion and i lowered mine 2 inchs front and one inch for my preference for visibility and made a nice overall change
Thanks for the detailed review. My being originally from NYC (Now in PA) I had to listen at 2x. But that's not a big deal, I just talk and listen fast.
The roll cage is very tough, I’ve seen people turtle dance on the cage and come out fine, I just put a roof , front ( with 4500lbs super atv winch) and rear bumper, upgraded skid plate, 15 inch race line bead locks with the same carnivore by maxxis but 32 inch, ride command 7 button with a Rockford fosgate sub and speakers, some reason the speakers don’t work but the sub does. I’ve looked it over and over but can’t find if I forgot a connection or what. It’s time consuming for sure to upgrade the xp pro but man is it quick.
My Rzr pro Xp was still on training and the radiator water just completely spilled from no where and the blow off valve has a strange sound, can someone help me to solve it?
Love your videos man keep it up! My steering wheel on my xp turbo did that day 1 and still does it at 3k miles. Im loving the new Pro xp's and hopefully can get one soon.
Howdy, I should not be that hard to shift. Take your clutch cover off, start the engine, and look at the secondary clutch with the engine idling. There should only be a slight spin, like a couple revolutions per minute. If its fast, thats why its hard shifting. You can also compare shifting while the engine is off compared to the engine at idle in park.
John Malecha my secondary does need shimmed but I think people are expecting it buttery smooth which it is not lol. It is still hard when the motor is off.
@@sxsshuster8696 OK, that surprises me, mine shifts harder with the engine running than not, and my secondary does spin faster than it should, it is pending a trip to the dealer.
Yeah it just needs shimmed to line up with the primary. It’s not a huge deal. Most of them do it. Your belt might not last as long as it could but not a huge deal.
Inside the cabin there’s a door between the seats to change ur oil filter also I’m pretty sure , my 16 turbo has one so I’d hope they carried that over
Tony Balony I’m aware, most of the people who are searching for SXS videos. Either don’t have one or are getting one soon. So this video is made to relate to them. Basically I went over everything that I see people commonly talking about in forms that just get a SXS. If you watch the video I tell the viewer about everything that’s great on the pro. This is in no way to bash the rzr lol. But if you just read the title and watch two minutes of the video you won’t understand it. (Not saying you did that)
@SXS Shuster loosen the 4 t40s shut it hard then tighten them back up should get the double latch feature to work! Those doors always are a pain! @ProArmor they make great pro xp doors!!
What's your take on the width of the roll bar on this new design? I sat in it at a showroom and the roll bar seemed very narrow, with the bar sitting almost a third of the way in on the steering wheel view. This makes me believe the driver's left side (or passengers right) would not be protected whatsoever.
