#1 love this for you, have been rooting for you, and I am so happy to see every milestone. #2 I’m finna move to Atlanta if there are houses for $170k... you can’t even get a (nice) condo for that in nyc 😪
Britney Grey It’s actually quite the opposite. If you really want to know why NYC is so expensive it’s 1. Because the population density is extremely high (small space compared to amount of people.) AND 2. Because of gentrification. You talking about NYC is ghetto, but you probably can’t even afford to live here. How you hating from outside the club and you can’t even get in?😂
i just purchased a home in ATL in feb! so excited for you and your house hunting journey! small FYIs: depending on where the townhome community is, townhomes don't have the greatest track record for resale value, unless your home is in the midtown, o4w/ponce area. something my husband and i had to learn was to not get too attached to any of the homes we researched because they can go off the market so quickly or have small flaws that cause major issues. ALSO don't forget closing cost fees, earnest money, inspection fees, etc. i wish you all the luck!!!!!!!
I love how your channel has grown and evolved from just hair videos. I’ve been here from the beginning and I’ve been on a similar journey to you but you have your shit way more together lol. I’m 27 and just graduated with my MFA in May. I’m moving to LA in August from NY. Cleaning and sorting my room right now lol just took a little break. I’m still waiting to hear back from the landlord about my lease application but I know it’s mine. I even booked my movers! This will be my first time living on my own besides dorm life so I’m excited.
Congrats. I purchased my first home last year at the age of 22 going on 23. A couple days under a year of living in this home I am about to move out. I sold my home and I'm about to move back in with my parents. Purchasing a home is a huge milestone and its definitely best to take your time and not settle. I realized this is not my dream home or forever home and I don't want to keep paying towards a house I dont see myself in for the long haul so I decided to sell. Plus I'm also considering moving out the state. I will be saving up again to put a larger down payment on my dream home. I'm excited for the new journey
Thanks for sharing this alternative perspective. Selling a home is a stressful process too, but I am glad that you had the experience of buying, so you know what to look for in your dream home.
@@minimalassembly7893 thank you. I'm grateful for the experience. And now I get to pass my knowledge to others that are looking to purchase a home for the first time. It's a lot about the home buying process most arent aware of.
You are an inspiration! I'm 26, and just finished grad school (MBA). I just started a UA-cam posting about confidence, self-growth, beauty reviews. I wish I had filmed my grad school/work journey, but it's never too late to start. Now saving for a home. I pay my parents "rent" that they are keeping for me as a down payment when I ready or if I want to move to another city when it's safe.
This video is so inspiring! Great practical tips. I'm currently in grad school and living at home with my parents. I love my people's but trust and believe I am ready to get tf up outta here. 😬 Not an expert by any means but I've heard that a common financial mistake people make is putting all of their money into their homes when they could have invested it (in like index funds). This might be me being nosy, but I was was wondering if that something that you were considering when evaluating how much of a downpayment to put on your first home.
I was just thinking about your house buying journey and wondering how it's going the other day. I'm glad all is well and that Corona isn't stopping the hunt. Take your time because you already know what's for you will always be for you. I'm rooting for you and can't wait to see what you buy!
I’m so happy for you! I watch your videos as a guideline 😀 while I’m only a sophomore in college now, I plan to be like you (a boss lady, saving money, and getting those degrees)

Wow the timing of this video is everything....I’m also 28 at home and it’s BEEN time to get out. Looking into grad school and don’t know if I’ll be staying in Atlanta or moving away. New Subbie! Excited for your journey💕✨
Me and my best friend started talking about buying out first home in the next five years. And I referenced your journey!! So happy for you and your progress!!!
Thank you for always being so transparent, honest, and genuine in your videos (especially ones like these!) it’s so great seeing another black woman thrive and giving others sound advice!!
Love this video and series. We are about the same age (I’m 29) and I just purchased my first home in the DMV area and start my doctorate at Howard in August. Good luck, and take your time!

I've been watching since the end of high school/beginning of college (around 2014), and you've motivated me to stay focused and driven. I hope you find the house that you love...I can't wait to see the journey!! much love from nyc.
LOVED this video, I am in the same position in the Bay Area. Starting grad school in August and looking for a condo. Hope you keep making videos, very encouraging
Congrats! Buying a house can be fun I bought a crib around your age and it will paid off next year... just finished my doctorate program last year, working full time and raised a kid who is 27 now. It took me 15 years to payoff. Moral of the story when your mind is set you can accomplish anything and NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS just LIVE LIFE! Peace to a comfortable and safe home 🙏🏽✌🏽

The goal is to buy a house for my 30th birthday. I got about 3 years and I'm trying to save all that I can to put down a good down payment. Seeing your progress and journey is so inspiring. I hope you can find a home you love!
I recommend you gong with NACA right now! They have a below market interest rate that you can buy down all the way to .25, no pmi, no closing costs. I believe youd be able to get your mortgage under 1k a month with that price range
Congratulations!! I too purchase my first home at 28 (I've been on my own since 19) Couldnt afford it in florida but Texas is where it's at and you really get bang for your buck. I got 2,600 sqft home under 300k I did 6months of research. Sure, my commute to work is an 1.5 each way but I love my home. Welcome to your new home no matter what you choose!!
I know how you feel, I'm 28 yo and I'll be 29 yo in August too. I'm ready to move and get my own home, no renting. Lol, good luck on your home buying journey. 😋

Congrats Aaron! I'm so excited for you on this journey. I love your style so I cant wait to see how you decorate it. I bought my first townhome last year and while it's nice, and the area is very desirable I plan to be here for a few years and move on to something else.
Recently bought a home and my realtor gave me good advice. Do not wait to buy your home to see if the market crashes! If you find one you feel is right buy it. The rates are good the prices are good. If the market truly crashes cash investors will scoop up all the properties and regular buyers will be left with the scraps

I'm in the same position of buying a home but I'm in Cali and prices are $350k+ smh. My process will be 3 years lol. I'm really taking my time but currently renting an apartment.
I'm 29yo and living at home. People judge but... If my parents get tired of me and kick me out, I can buy a home out right, no mortgage. 👀☕☕☕ I save close to 100% of my income. My parents don't even want my help for groceries. I'll enjoy it while I can 🙃
