BDO definitely earned the title as "most improved" MMORPG imo. What do you guys think?
More like, Most Classes MMORPG. When does it ends?
Its not called black desert because theres a black desert...its called black desert because the desert is rich in black stones in the lore.
All I've ever done in this game is play seasons. The leveling process is pretty fun for me. Learning the class and what not. After that, when I see the absolutely ridiculous amount of time you need to spend playing this game to accomplish the smallest thing, I can't help but drop it. BDO does not respect your time. One of my favorite things about ffxiv is that it respects your time. Haven't played in months? No problem. You can gear up in a few days and jump into the most recent content. Want to try a new class, but it's not max level? You can level up in a couple hours. There are too many good games out there to spend 7k hrs on just one. The only thing BDO has going for it is the combat and the world, which is why it's so frustrating that it's like this. There's a great mmo in there, but the never ending grind and the p2progress aspects kill it for me.
I see your point, but I actually have the opposite perspective. I feel BDO doesn't value my time *because* I put so much time into it. I quit FFXIV after hardcore raiding for nearly 6 years since ARR because I got so burnt out on the same patch cycle year after year. Every time I'd clear the savage raid tier, my gear would become obsolete and replaced by dungeon gear in the next patch 3 months later. I didn't feel rewarded and my gear didn't matter.
I've been playing BDO since 2018 and I'm 700GS, I still have the same PEN necklace and armor I made like 2 years ago and it's still relevant in PVP and PVE. However, now everything in BDO is gear locked. T1 nodes, soon all node wars, and even siege have gear caps. This is good for people who haven't put in the crazy hours I have, but the big issue is siege being gear capped. The "carrot on the stick", the "end-game goal" of BDO is eventually being strong enough to participate in Siege. Now Siege is just a zerg-fest of low geared people and guild politics. Open world PVP is basically dead and pointless because there are so many channels and karma loss is so punishing. The only reward I get for getting stronger now is that I get to grind in a slightly different circle. I want to grind to be stronger in PVP, and that's not really a thing anymore.
I will say that ranked Arena of Solare has brought me back to the game though, it's incredibly fun; I just don't see a point in grinding or getting stronger anymore with all the gear capped content and no incentive to PVP or node war.

2:12 Running valk train is great. Invite folks to give them free drops because WAY to much trash left behind. The one thing that would completely change midgame spots is to prioritize the loot drops so that Red > yellows > Blue > Green > Trash. That would be an amazing change.
I would be fine with an option to turn on prioritized loot, but the drops are account bound and cannot be sold on CM.

especially in seasons, since the server are limited and although i am not a pvp er, with pvp locked you really can't do much if the other party is quite pesky and resilient

I have alot to say, having had an 10k hours account and lost $600 in "the transfer". I still love playing this game though. Conflicted about it and thinking I should just quit again because it demands so much time.
Yes BDO improved but no way is it Most Improved MMO worthy. I always get into it then drop it because of the HEAVYY rng and time required to get the decent stuff. I personally woulda given the award to New World or something
New World definitely improved since their launch. Night and day difference. Though I think for them it was MOSTLY fixing their bugs rather than pushing their game into a better direction where BDO was already stable and were revamping existing systems and implementing new ones
You’re playing yourself. Buy the gear from market. Much cheaper in long run

Nah, dekaron(2moons) was the best, bdo is okay at best. The non stop grind gets tedious and boring. Whether you're questing, doing non combat activities, or even traveling around the map- it's a time consuming grind. (Kill 2k monsters here, kill 4k monsters there..nd still no rare drop OR. Gather 200 beehives to convert that into 2 honey wines for use/ sale ). There's hardly any group content, boss fights are a joke with their bs attacks -offin-, no fast travel, rare drops are close to non-existent in grind spots, upgrading gear is based on luck.(or crons/spending real money) Bdo isn't really that good tbh. If it wasn't for the nice graphics (at times, the random mountains conveniently placed so that shortcuts are few and far in-between are hideous) and flashy combat. Nobody would be playing it, guaranteed. I've been playing for 3 years on and off, I CANT WAIT TIL ANOTHER ACTION MMO release for PlayStation, I'ma be gone so damn fast. I didnt even mention sailing and how clunky and boring that is. Oh and how the horse mini game gives you no time or indicator to react to it before being thrown off. Bdo ain't bad, but it ain't good either. Be real

I think one major problem with the UX is the localization.
I assume they hire/contract localizers/translators and maybe to a degree UI/UX designers? But what they really need are GOOD Western *video game UX* designers that have a deep understanding of Western culture and games, ie. the way Western players play and learn games.
BDO is not a hard game IF YOU READ THE DESCRIPTION OF ITEMS.

BDO is that super hot 10/10 girl you dream to date that has a lot of baggage.
After a while the "action" is still great but you find yourself pouring more and more time into the relationship without getting anything out of it.
It is okay to quit and refuse to feel like you will fall behind everytime you log into steam.

I'm say something that is ya put simple bdo is a grind but it's just a different type of grind. All mmos are a grind no matter what only difference is bdo ur running in circles killing stronger and stronger mobs learning there little mechanics. Other mmos it's same thing just running dungeon dailys in circles and learning boss mechanics it's same thing. Only difference is bdo there no IM SORRY U CANT RUN THIS DUNGEON TO THIS TIME ... bdo great game it needs more new players don't rush don't follow all the dumb meta players do you it's how it was made.
The Region Locked review really hit home to me.
I used to play on NA since i live in NA, but I made an EU account so i could play with my GF. Now after over quadrupling my old accounts time in the game, We dont really play together since BDO is a very solo oriented game except for the very few exceptions like Vell being good with a platoon.
Point being I wish i could transfer this account to NA. Mostly so that I can have the better World Boss spawn times, having Vell Spawn at 11am for me and Black Shadow Spawn at Noon really sucks lol.
The only reason i could see why transferring could MAYBE be an "issue" is because the economies are slightly different, but this is the only game i have ever played where you can't just play in another region if you want to.
I think at least having the option to transfer region maybe once every month or couple months or something would be nice.

Why can't they use back stone as an universal material... For repairing items , enchancing everything, awakening horses, enchancing life skill gear, black star and fallengod and lebraska... They have 100 different items and most of them have the same role . Just to fill up your inventory, and same goes for so many things in BDO...
3:35 Fady is spot on. I have friends that live in South America and won't play the game because of the language lock, and they want to play with friends outside of South America. I wish PA woud just let people play where they want to. There are a lot of people that get stuck on MENA and I think Turkish is the only language supported. I am sure there are underlying issues, but I can't think of any that would justify the level of tone deafness of PA sometimes.
I played awhile when the game first came out, several cash purchases.. Quit the game years ago, never planned on playing again so i just ignored the emails about the account transfers.. wish i hadn't done that, picked the game back up for .99 cents and starting all over again. The game seems more fun now this time around for some reason, maybe it's because there are youtube guides now and i had no idea what i was doing back then..

the only sad thing about this game really is the damn enhancement system. i mean they feared people leaving after the endgame so much and tried to create a system to counter it, and instead that very system made their worst fears come true. I've seen many people quit because they're tired of the enhancement system, and I'm talking about friends with TET-PEN blackstar and fallen god gear on almost all chars. But other than that, the game is really beautiful in its own way
You don't have to enhance. I swear some of you people are stuck from years ago and just want something to say that's bad. Meanwhile BDO is just under constant upgrades, gameplay updates and QOL improvements. They are probably the hardest working AAA MMO devs in existence atm, or close to. The population has never been healthier as well, it shows.
yea you can buy every single one of your upgrades, this is pretty much a non issue
@@Despond I've been playing the game for years along with my friends. I have blackstar and fallen god armor on multiple characters. not full equipment, but it's there. I've enhanced, sell and profited in different times depending on my needs, farmed for other people to buy and done trades for who knows how many times. All CP i had to spend for all my node points to get certain materials that I need for upgrades. I know my stuff. I'm sorry to brag, but it's people like you who assume that we are only here to trash on the game and can't accept that the game has flaws that are the real problem. I love the game, I've seen the efforts, the suggestions they listened to, the constant updates and events that help new players unlike the struggle back then, but no matter how much time has passed, it doesn't mean that all old issues are gone. The game is lovely, from a 3d perspective the models are well done, both characters and the game world in general. But no matter how beautiful something is, you have to accept that there are flaws that need to be addressed. If you can't accept criticisms, then what's the point? And yes, you DO have to enhance, my guy. I'm not saying it's bad for all items, or this is for all equipment or acc in general. And no, I'm not talking about stacking up your FS. that much is pretty much doable, even until 230-250 fs.
Im 725 gs after 5 years of playing. I have never enhance a single pen gear or accessory.

that 2nd review of not understanding the game doesnt make sense to me. There are very little features that seemed very difficult to understand at first like natural failstacking. Even now they implemented like lifeskill guides in the game in several ways. I understand theres a lot to BDO and it may seem overwhelming w the first toon, but not too difficult to understand. I think that person is just one of the ppl in server chat that cant read red text tbh. Especially at lvl 12 on ur 1st toon man like just do the story lmao and I hate to sound toxic, but at lvl 12 you havent even experienced 1% of the BDO content and to say ur lost? Nah
Oh man I was in the same boat back in 2016. I quit the game after a few days and came back like a year later determined to learn everything
@@imPansy oh lmao I joined during the height of Covid so right when seasons servers were 1st done. Maybe it was just more flushed out by then or hindsight bias for me.
They should've just put all account over.. makes no sense to have to email

4:25 I disagree with this, BDO does a great job of consolidating all your rewards inside the black spirit safe; I haven't opened that thing in like 4 years and it's just loaded with junk I don't really care about. If I need something, I just use the "find my item" search and pick out the single item I need. I just pray I never hit the "collect all" button because then my account would be ruined LOL.
