We have had snow scoops in Canada (particularly in N. Ontario) since the mid sixties!

These are awesome. We got one for our house up north and it is a huge improvement over traditional shovels. I just got one for my father who lives downstate. I'm sure he will love it.

Yes, works great in deep snow. Just about everyone up here in Upper Michigan owns and uses a snow scoop. We get between 200-300" of snow each winter. People use scoops in all depths of snow. We have been using them to shovel roofs. Roofs will have 3' of snow. Works great!

I've used this for about 15 years and it's fantastic. As long as you have a place to move the snow such as a lawn beside the drive way it really is fast. If you take your time it's not exhausting at all. However on slushy snow .....

My dad discovered one of these years ago. 1970. They were aluminum. Lucan Ontario is in a snow belt. Heaven help the
Huge snow banks you slid up like you showed. Heaven help the person who shoveled a wall beside the driveway to block the scoop runway.
We found three in people’s garbage this year. I thought dad sent them 😇😊since our driveway guy retired and we thought we needed to hire a truck. ❄️🥶
With these silver bear snow tools no truck $$$$ needed. They are fast.

I started skiing in Zermatt, Switzerland in 1990. They get a LOT of snow in Zermatt (at 5000' altitude) and it snows dry fluffy stuff almost every day in the ski season. The task every morning for the hotel staff people and shop owners in town is to clear the snow away. For traction they scatter finely crushed gravel. This is where I first saw aluminum sleigh-type snow shovels of the type demo-ed here. The Swiss are not averse to hard work, so I have never seen wheeled-type shovels there :).

I purchased this several years ago. Can't say how much I love this thing without getting long-winded and boring (I'm good at that).
I watched my neighbors shovel snow and knew there had to be a better way. I purposely looked for how Yoopers would do this kind of thing (seriously I did) and found this. Unless my car gets stuck in a ditch, I'll never shovel snow again.

Being that I've been to the UP I will confirm you get lots of snow, but it is also very cold so the snow is light. and it looks like you have a lot of area to slide the snow off to the side. Most places in New England the snow is heavy and wet. and you have to stack it high because space is limited

I have owned two of the U.P. snow scoops and three plastic models from True Temper and Sun Cast. The Sun Cast models seemed to be made for short folks. They tended to dig in instead of ride over the snow unless I put the handle down to my knees. The handle on one broke easily also. I gave the other to my grandson and told him to be careful with it.
The older True Temper worked as well as the Yooper Scoopers and was easier to push uphill and slide the snow off. I don't like the newer True Temper with the Ergonomic handle as much. The bend leaves a weak spot and I couldn't find any advantage to it.
I am now making my own because I realized that I can push more that twice the snow that these scoops can hold. Once you get them sliding a 10 year old can move a full load. Mine are 4 feet wide. It is almost as hard walking through a foot of snow as it is pushing a load of snow over it. Since my scoops require less than half as many trips I get done in less time with less effort.

For that amount of snow fall in a given year, I'd be using a snow blower to handle it. No banks to contend with and it certainly much easier to deal with the mess that the city plow leaves at the bottom of your driveway when clearing the street.

I use a similar sleigh shovel. Have not used my snowblower since I got it, and I grew up in North Dakota, and moved to Minneapolis for the warmer winters. So I know snow.
      I'm 60 and overweight.
These snow sleigh shovels are great for light or heavy snow, and work great for the mound left by the plow and the hills at the side of the driveway - if properly used.
One thing they can do that snowblowers can't, is move the peak of that hill out into your yard, so you have more room to put new snow from your driveway.
You dont have to climb a higher and higher hill. Just put the shovel about a foot under the peak, and push it out into the yard. Repeat as needed.
Helps to spray the shovel with silicon when starting.
Also, snow pants or gaiters help a lot.
