Community is one of those shows that made me realize my life is gonna be alright. I watched it my junior year of high school crying myself to sleep over college and career stress. Then i’m watching this show about all of these people who missed out on the most important opportunities in their lives and are still happy. Really took that stress away from me and made me realize that no matter where I end up I’ll be able to find happiness so I’m extremely grateful for it

Yeah, all due to(and derive by) the complex lore in plot & intent and intricate embellish-detail of it all. In 2009(anecdotal evidence, here), I would had loathed the premise immensely, due to the rude type of satire in dialect(upon them to converse amongst one another) and humor gags/gimmicks of stereotypes(since it had a bias to those who only knew the absurd-humor and the amount to construde or make people garner plethora of questions about it all). Also, many of the tropes were nihilist(yet skewed to better results, fortunately to teach a lesson about life).
I didn't know about the show when it first aired, but I wish I had. I've done watch every episode a few times. This show belongs to be right up there with the office. In some ways maybe even better.

They had so many awesome episodes! All the Paintball ones, the Christmas episode where they're all Claymation, the biggest Pillow Fort and indeed, the DnD episode were so amazing.
That episode takes me through a veritable rollercoaster of emotions. That's the one that always makes me feel like each of those characters lives and breathes. ❤

I had just seen Mystery Team. a huge fan of Community told me I would love the show since I enjoyed the movie Absolutely loved Joel on the soup, Chevy Chase is a given and Yvette Nicole Brown was my 3rd favorite character on Drake and Josh (then the episode comes with pierce hiring students to write jokes for movie night and you best believe I was on the floor 😂) Community couldn’t miss!! The cameos were incredible 😂😂

It's now on Peacock and I am watching it front to back for the first time.

Abysmal ratings. It wasn’t popular. NBC was very kind to let it keep going but in the wake of The Office, 30 Rock, and Scrubs ending they had nothing else going.

Community was a slept on by so many. My son and I watched and still we will go back and rewatch together from time to time. Such a good show, was sad when Troy aka Glover left. Glover is such a rare talent, successful in everything he does.
This was the same trajectory for Star Trek: The Next Generation actors. They had no idea anybody even cared about their show until they went to their first convention.
It took some time for the audience to evolve imo. I just think it was ahead of its time. I think people wanted easier laughs that they didn't have to think too hard about at the time. So after school or after work, something like _Big Bang..._ was much easier to digest. I watch a lot of reaction videos for _Community_ between UA-cam and Patreon and some reactors mention how they were aware of the show when it was out, but they didn't get the humor at the time. It just took them getting older to finally "get it". Others were watching _Glee_ or _Big Bang..._ Either way, I'm glad they finally got the fan base they deserve, because when the show was out, I had very few people to talk to about this show. Now, when I'm out at a bar or something, I periodically get to have conversations with randos about it. Sometimes time is all that's needed.

I'm not sure how many times we've watched all the episodes and how many gazillion times we've watched some of the episodes, but among three of us (our one kid is the only neutral family member) we can request an episode for any mood or to foster a mood we want. Community will never get old.
I love community. Truly inspired me to go to school again for the sense of community. It’s a beautiful show with so many personalities and funny bits. So many inside jokes for watchers. For it to be called a “bomb” shows they were going by a bracket only certain people would watch. This show is for the neurodivergent, poc, lgbtq+, elders with older insights, and so much more. Beyond inclusive for its time. So blessed to watch it in my lifetime.
