If you listen carefully, you can hear the heartfelt experience of Jimmy's voice in this song. Don't be mislead by the current trends of country music, THIS is what made country great!
Hearing little Jimmy Dickens sing this song brought me to tears, such a great entertainer,,my memories of him wasn't ballads was more of, sleeping at the foot of the bed, take a ole cold tater and wait, or may the bird of paradise fly up your nose, what a great entertainer 😂😂
When you see this video, you realize the talent he possessed. You also see how degraded country music has become. Thank you for sharing. We miss you Jimmy. As for the rude comments, they are just folks who do not know true happiness.
This video is proof that Little Jimmy Dickens was not only a great performer, but he was America's Troubadour. Nobody could sell a song like LJD. Willie Nelson carries on this tradition today. All of us are better off for his having been here. Thanks for posting.
I felt sad when news Little Jimmy Dickens death broke as his performance were fun showed his skills. Jimmy was a small man with a big heart. I know his fans friend and artist have lost a big hero.
Thank you for posting larrydale66!!! PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT DOWN. THE ONE'S MAKING THE SNIDE REMARKS WOULDN'T KNOW TRADITIONAL, TRUE OR REAL COUNTRY IF THEIR OWN WAS A LEGEND AS HE... I honestly feel sorry for them... PURE IGNORANCE.
I put This Video up about a year ago I was Shocked when I seen The Rude Comments and they were removed Little Jimmy was The heart and Soul of The Grand Ol Opry and will Be Missed....for the rude Remarks May The Bird of Paradise Fly up Your Nose you know Nothing about Country Music and Someday You Will Be Old Folk Too!
If she seems cold and bitter I beg of you Just stop and consider All she's gone through Don't be quick to condemn her For things she might say Just remember Life turned her that way She's been walked on And stepped on so many times I hate to admit it but that last footprint's mine She was crying when I met her She cries harder today So don't blame her Life turned her that way She's been walked on And stepped on so many times I hate to admit it but that last footprint's mine She was crying when I met her She cries harder today So don't blame her Life turned her that way No don't blame her Life turned her that way
This song is great and a classic. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but answer this honestly; if you think he can't sing, try doing it for as long as he did and atvthe age he did this. One of his strongest vocals I had heard from him came on December 20, 2014, his last performance at the Opry. His voice was very strong and clear as if he knew it was going to be his time on stage. What a fantastic man and such a sweet and beloved individual. I cherish the memory of having met and spoke with him. I revere it even more now, knowing I will never have the chance to meet with him again unless God saves a place for me in heaven.
Playing staff band at Salem Oh music park gave me the opportunity to met many of the stars including LJD!! While gathered in a circle shooting the bull in the barn like structure behind the stage a wasp flew down from the roof, stung Jimmy on the elbow and dropped straight to the floor dead!! We all looked down at the wasp then up to Jimmy.....he looked up, paused, then said, "the alcohol got him!!" THAT was Little Jimmy Dickens!!
That’s my favorite song because it is my life. He was such a great artist, one of my favorites. I miss him but I have all of his records. The other favorite is another bridge to burn. It was like he was singing to me.
who in their right mind would be rude..say nothing and let those who want to enjoy the great ones enjoy them... Thank you for putting it back up here ! :))
To reply to 8sl2k1: sorry to say but you sure don't know country music. This man is a legend and knows how to sing a ballad. He has been singing and entertaining people for years. Now he is out of pain and gone home to be with loved ones R.I.P Little Jimmy. We will miss you greatly.
My words exactly Robert. Jimmy was as genuine as you could want. Sang from the heart and soul of the country music era that is slowly disappearing. No one can condemn the man for anything. He was a true legend that will always live in our hearts in Canada.
Everyone loves a man who sings like Jimmy.

If she seems cold and bitter
I beg of you
Just stop and consider
All she's gone through
Don't be quick to condemn her
For things she might say
Just remember
Life turned her that way
She's been walked on
And stepped on so many times
I hate to admit it
but that last footprint's mine
She was crying when I met her
She cries harder today
So don't blame her
Life turned her that way
She's been walked on
And stepped on so many times
I hate to admit it
but that last footprint's mine
She was crying when I met her
She cries harder today
So don't blame her
Life turned her that way
No don't blame her
Life turned her that way
