I had traveled to Belize TWICE, by myself, and each time I visited, I never felt alone. The people were so kind and giving. I had never felt anything like that anywhere before. The very first friend I made on the Island worked at The Royal Caribbean Resort. She checked up on me every day and made sure I had everything I needed. She brought me home-cooked meals, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, knowing that food was my passion, gave me great advice on where the locals loved to dine.

I’m a 60 year old man. I was born and raised in NYC to Belizean parents. NYC is the great melting pot with people from all over the world. That being said, growing up it was rare to meet people from Belize that I wasn’t related to. I got excited anytime I ran into someone from Belize. After visiting the country I learned why that was, why there were so few. Belizean’s love their country and most don’t want to leave. They see no reason to. I spent 5 weeks there and drove around most of the country. No negative experiences, positivity and around. Every time I go there I feel more at home than in my own country.

Food is good but expensive, I would never waste money going there again. The people were very nice and thats the best thing I can about the place.
