I just got done installing the 200,4 in my 2021 Sienna tonight. So far I really like the sound. I put in some CDT 6x9 in the front door and audiofrog GS25 in the dash. Really brings the sound stage to life and gets rid of the way overboosted bass from the factory! Now I need the key 500 and a sub.

I installed one in my 2006 Audi rs4 saloon running jl c2 comps active up front. It makes the hairs on my neck stand up. A seriously incredible amp.

Exactly the way i'm about to do my install in my Escape, only w Morels and a Jl 10tw3. The guys at Kicker suggest placing the mic facing forward when running front active, because the rear speakers are now out of the equation.

how do you like the morel pairing with the kicker key?
arent the morels power hungry (90w RMS and dips 3.1 ohm)
im torn to pair the key - either morels or low-amp friendly JL c2 (60w RMS)
both with softer tweeters
@@ricstars95 sadly I have not installed the system yet. I was all set to go and found out my factory certified Escape was in multiple accidents before I bought it, which means it should not of been certified. So now instead of listening to my improved sound system I'm suing the dealership for auto fraud. Of course the courts are backed up because of the pandemic. However I have no worries about the amp pushing the morels at all. Dean from Five Star did a similar setup with no issues whatsoever.
Going in this coming Monday interested in the small footprint of the amp, excited 😊

Ugh, I put a Kicker Key in my volt after seeing the original install. Now I have to go back and make more adjustments. I'm blaming you guys! The key sounds amazing with foxal speakers and was worth every bit of effort.
I have 2nd volt. Didn't even need new speakers after installing the keys 200.4 and set it up.

Do you recommend doing the front speakers or stage on the fifth GEN forerunner even though the door speakers and tweeters are run in parallel? I would like to power all the speakers in the car. Another quality and informative video.

Do you have any issues with navigation, phone calls or door chimes when fully active?
Hi! This means that if one were to add two of these and set up one each at a time, we could have all four speakers active and time aligned for the front. The gain/level of the rears then could be set lower to avoid pulling the sound back. This will keep things cohesive.
yes although you would likely want to use the same set of speakers front and back to be more cohesive

Bringing back an old video. I have kicker ks I am preparing to install in a F150 with a B&0. I want to use the Key for the front stage, since there's no more B&O amp what would you recommend to power the rears, these will also be kicker ks

Installed mine today and it was DOA... No Input/No Output.... Hooked up 2 Yes TWO other amps with the same inputs and they both worked.
Is it posible to install the key amp for highs and get signal for sub amp ??
has anyone cut the tweeter wire on CS kicker coaxials and wired them bi-amp to a kicker key? or are they less than 4ohm when separated?
I have a 2009 Rogue with a factory Bose system which has its own factory amplifier. Can I use the kicker key 200.4 without adding a summing device? Thanks so much for your videos and explanations
I have the keys running active front stage. Active front stage is the best setup. You can dial in the tweeter just right.
Did you have to add a capacitor to on the tweeters? Like a bass blocker?
@@hazer75 I have the K series tweeter, and it came with a capacitor inline. But the tweeter I had before did not have a capacitor, and it ran fine. When you run the auto tuning on the keys, it's at moderate volume. So the tweeters will be ok.
I have kicker css674 and this key 200.4 for a front stage setup. Do I need to add a capacitor before each tweeter? Thank you!
So, Could I use this to replace my factory Bose amp in my 2004 yukon? Just piggy back off the factory wires at the factory amp location? Speakers,Power & ground. Just run the RCA from head unit
Do you think the compression setting activated will keep the amp from retuning itself? Was trying to retune my amp earlier and thought about it right now cause it would not finish the pink noise test
If I run this amp active to my Focal PS 165fxe will I need a cap for my front tweeters. I'm using the passive one now. I have heard both ways work fine.
how does this work with crossovers? i have focal flax ps130fe surely it would blow out the tweeters as its testing them?
I've just ordered the key amp and have been debating if I should bi amp or not. I think I'll be bi amping.
If going this route do you need to even bother upgrading the factory rear speakers?

I’m tryin to set it up using the bi-amp mode but somehow it keep failing to set up, i have connected the woofer on rear, new lines for the front tweeters, and keeps failing I don’t know if it’s the tweeter is not being detected, it gives me two beeps after fauling, but can’t seem to figure out. I have infinity primus component speakers, not using the crossover as they suggested.
I was possibly thinking about doing this as well. So when you hook it up with the front stage only, you take away the crossovers and use the crossovers in the amp?
That’s correct. The passive crossovers are removed and that is handled by the amp.
I would love if you showed how to set the gain for bi-amp mode. I can't get my gain light to come on at all.
Have you found out how to do it correctly? I can only set the AMP 2 gain with a 50 Hz test tone, 1000 Hz doesn't work, the light won't come on. Kicker support is trying to convince me that only 1000 Hz should be used for both.

so as a front stage only set up does that mean the rear door speakers are not powered by the key amp?
What if you hook it up low level to aftermarket deck and bi amp mode. You have to put 2 sets of your rca's in the spot marked rear out. How will that work?
i would assume you run front left speaker level in to both front and rear left and front right into both front and rear right inputs on the key.
So frustrated right now, I finished the bi amp key setup, all fine, happy tone, the music was playing nicely, moved to gain matching and fried both tweeters with the 50hz test tone, no limiter red light was shown or anything. I'm still trying to understand why the amp was sending such low frequencies to the tweeter. What could have happened, fader was OFF, Bi amp on, kicker EQ off, compression OFF, using just front channels, woofers connected to hear outputs, tweeter to front outputs. Didn't the Key setup separate the frequencies properly? why the tweeter got burned while woofer was not even close to limit and red light didn't come up?
What's the tuning procedure when you have a bi-amp key200.4 for the front, and a bi-amp key200.4 for the rear?

Hi, I have two questions that I would really appreciate if you could help. I'm planning to do a similar setup with a few modifications. I have a Toyota GR86 that has 6 speakers in front, twetter and mid in dash and woofer in the door. I'm planning to install a polk db6502 2 way component speaker to replace the woofer and twetter and power it with a kicker key 200.4. The difference is that I am planning to run the bi amp mode, but still use the passive crossover for the tweeter/mid-range instead of the tweeter/woofer and add some HPF in the amp, would that work? the second question is regarding the subwoofer, I am installing a 10in JL and I will be powering it with another kicker key 500.1 and I would like to know how can I feed the signal to it, could you help me on that? thanks in advance.
Can the key run 3 way active? Using the passive crossover between a 2 1/2 and tweeter.
I've been thinking the same thing. With the 120hz highpass crossover the 2.75 won't like that very much. You'd have to put a bassblocker at about 400hz on it, which shouldn't cause any problems. I'm running the Q components and have a spot for the 2.75, currently powered off a KXA400.4. Was thinking of powering the midbass off it and putting the Key on the 2.75 & tweet. Haven't decided yet.
I have a 24 Toyota Grand Highlander with JBL audio. I want to use the key to power the front stage. The JBL has separate channels for tweeter, mid and woofer up front. The tweeter doesn't have the 4 wires like most Toyota...just 2. How do i setup the bi amp for 3 way?

Any way to have Bluetooth calls and such to come through all speakers, not JUST the tweeters when active? That is a problem I had with mine, and ripped it out due to this fact.
Actually this shouldn't happen. You're supposed to only tap the front channels for both the tweeters and woofer so you should have the calls on both, right?
@@hazer75 yes, the tweeters are on the front channels (woofers on the rear) on the key amp when it is ran active.

Active vs passive always sounds more musical.
Much more control over the system I am working on doing this now and I have an 80prs and a key and both run active and I am confused on the hook up cause I want my rear door speakers
No, it has to do with soundstaging. Basically if you only have the fronts you should be able to pinpoint where each musician is in physical space. Most music is recorded in 2 channels so the rears don't have specific information in them that the fronts don't. By being behind you, they can mess up the soundstage and make everything "blurry" or a mushy mess.

Rear speakers that aren't subwoofers mess up the soundstage. Look up hifi soundstaging, it's a rabbit hole and a half.
Can you run 2 of them one on front stage And the other one running rear on my running 2 channels on the other one ?

Absolutely not. This is meant to setup a proper soundstage. Rears ruin that effect.

@@DigitalFentanyl I put kicker key 200.4 and 500.1 in with hertz speakers and JL Audio W7 8 inch, soon after she gave the car to her son, so took it all out and sold it, but it sounded awesome while it was in there🤔

Bi amping simply means each driver in a 2 way has a separate amplifier or amplifier channel.
