  • “To help other people at all times” and “To do a good turn daily.” These statements are part of the core values that make Scouting one of the greatest youth leadership and character development programs available. Since 1910, Scouts have been putting these ideals into practice through community service projects, whether these have been individual service projects completed to meet a rank requirement, a unit-level service project for your charter organization, a District or Council service project to give back to your local community, or a National service project where the impact of the entire organization can be felt for many years.
Scouting for Food is possibly the longest-running, most impactful, and most successful National Service project ever undertaken by Scouting America. What started as a two-year activity is still going strong 36 years later, and there are no signs it will go away anytime soon.
