Sea Scouting is the second-oldest program in Scouting America getting its start in 1912. In its early days, Sea Scouting struggled with direction and membership, and its heyday was in the 1940s. Despite those limitations, Sea Scouting perseveres and, while it is small, is a growing part of Scouting America.
If you are interested in Scouting with a different flair, then Sea Scouting might be the ticket for you. Talk to your council office about Sea Scout Ships in your area, or gather up some friends and start your own Sea Scout Ship.
