It's so great that a fantastic golfing pro such as yourself will go into so much detail to help us struggling amateurs get better at golf. Wish more of the tour pros would do this but I don't blame them, it's a lot of work putting out these videos. Thank you Padraig I very much appreciate these.
Thank you Padraig!
Mr. Harrington, I have seen just about everything on UA-cam concerning the golf swing. This is the best lesson I have ever seen. Thank you!
It’s soooo cool to see a PGA star give IN DEPTH lessons on UA-cam for free! He’s very generous with his time. See, there’s still good things happening in this world. I’m proud to always have been a Padraig fan.
so incredibly cool he takes the time to do this. the man exudes credibility.
This is getting better with more technical details to clarify many common misconceptions in swing. Learning tons of "real" knowledge from all these lessons that money can't buy. God bless, Paddy.
There are many golf instructors on UA-cam.
There is only one Padraig.
Thanks so much again for taking the time to share your great common sense approach to golf.
Love the pendulum analogy: If the pivot point (hands) of the pendulum is moving too much through impact, the weight at the bottom of the pendulum (club head) physically cannot reach its maximum speed.
I've always liked Padraig and he has now just become one of my all-time favorites. Love the vids!
Can't thank you enough, Padraig! You broke so many myths that we've been fed by "modern" teaching, which I found doing no good to most amateurs.
Great lesson! Thank you, Mr. Harrington.
Let’s get this channel to 1 million subscribers.
Paddy is so passionate about us understanding what he’s saying. What a great guy to give us free instruction. He put so much physical effort in the “orange whip” example I was cracking up.
I love Pete Cowen, clay Ballard, but now Mr Harrington is becoming a favorite of mine fast!
Oh man...What an awesome explanation...not once in many lessons from professional instructors has anyone ever explained this to me...if only I'd had access to such gems 45 years ago!!
I've watched a lot of instruction over the years, but nothing compares to how effectively you communicate these ideas in a manner where I can take it right to my swing.
THIS is the best golf instruction I've seen! The drill "stop and brace at impact" totally changed my perception of the release. Practiced this on the driving range yesterday morning and the result was the most dramatic I've ever experienced in my 35 years of playing golf! Not only a huge increase in distance but also how it affected the ball flight. Instantly in a couple of swings, I started hitting high towering 4-irons with lovely distance control... From having had a total distance of around 195-200 yards with my 4-iron I now CARRIED it 220 with quick stop due to the much higher ball flight but with a much more compressed and powerful strike... Worked with all clubs from wedges through to driver. Took it straight out to the course as my only swing thought... Hey presto! Almost like a miracle! Thanks Padraig!! You've changed my golf in ONE lesson 😃
Love to hear it
What an incredible tip, and what a privilege to be able to follow you and hear your golf wisdom. ! Warm regards
Phil from Canada!
The “Archangel of Golf Instruction.” Thanks Paddy.
So many questions answered so clearly in this lesson, just absolute instructional Gold, can't wait to try it a the range.
I've been watching golf videos for years... This is the best explanation of clubhead release I've heard and seen👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The feeling of stoping the club at the bottom is a great tip to get the feeling of whipping the club head through impact!! Tks
Love the enthusiasm and energy! After reading some of the comments, so many people has said you’ve given them the lightbulb moment - Absolutely agree! Can’t thank you enough Padraig. Now time to practice what you preach and score some lower rounds. Top man thanks
Paddy's enthusiasm is brilliant, he's out of breath within minutes into all his videos. What a champ. Great stuff 👍👍
The two videos make so much more sense to me and how I feel my swing. I can't wait until the weekend so I can put this to work.
The pro swing explained by a real pro! Awesome! Thank you Mr. Harrington!
The detailed explanation of the wrists through impact, an how you explain the stopping effect when clubhead passes the hands at impact is pretty much priceless as golf tips come ⛳
Cheer's Padraig.
Paddy - we had met you at the Deutsche bank tournament in Boston when you came and joined us with your food. You are the BEST player I’ve ever met. Your grip video is literally the best. No one talks about the right hand like you do. It’s made a massive difference to my game
Best thing in this video is when he says impact pictures are "a still picture of a dynamic motion". So many people see still pictures of impact and say "look at that great forward shaft lean". They don't realize that in real time the clubhead is catching up and over taking the hands.
This is the best golf instruction that I've ever had in youtube, thank you so much Mr. Harrington, I appreciate your time and patience with us amateurs.
Thank you, sir. Best instructor I've ever encountered.
D. Slattery
Hahaha I love Padraig, he’s going for it in each demonstration.
Possibly the Best Club Face Control Video that I've seen.
Thank you Padraig you are amazing!!
I just love your videos! Great detailed explanation!
Much appreciate the time and effort you give to us! 👏⛳🙏
My pleasure!
Jesus Christ! This is pure gold! Can't choose the right words to express my admiration and, especially, appreciation of what you do for all of us! And so much effort you put in! Unbelievable. Great respect!!!
Mr. Harrington, I have re-watched this video several times before and after my practices sessions with huge success. Thank you for taking the time to share this info! You have done an amazing job of explaining the details of HOW better than any other training I have had whether live lessons or UA-cam. You showed all of the pitfalls I have fell into with positions in the golf swing. Your demonstrations and reasoning behind how to use the club are amazing! Thank you again for I truly believe you are the BEST teacher on UA-cam NOW! Jeff
Paddy you are the best. Thank you for finding the time to support your fans on their journey to better golf. Would be cool if you could share some tips on solid contact for irons, what's your thinking process when approaching such a shot e.g. do you imagine hammering a nail under certain angle, and ofc where do you exactly look - is it the center of the ball or its edges?
Best instruction and practice drills on UA-cam from a premier golfer many thanks for taking the time to help us in our quest
This video is great, I love the explanation of how the impact position is actually a snapshot of throwing the club, not drawings your wrists up through impact. I’ve been seeing a lot of that lately in Instagram too, so I appreciated the detailed explanation.
Great stuff Padraig, can’t believe you only have13 k views. Millions of golfers need to see your videos, thanks
Paddy you are a diamond of a teacher to me. Precise instruction condensed into seconds. Thank you so very much.
That was enlightening. When I started playing golf 25 years ago, this was how I used to hit my irons. Now I’m a mixture of 300 different YT lessons. Thanks for reminding me that what worked before did not need improving. Can’t wait to see you in the Masters. Would love to see you do a Michelson, and win a major at 50. You certainly have the game and form. Best of luck and thanks.
I feel out of breath just watching! Great tips, made me realize why my best strikes are always when I try and hit a sawn off follow through shot. I'll definitely work getting that club face more neutral as I do really struggle when chipping
Most informative and helpful golf instruction video I've ever watched. And coming from one of the best to ever play the game, thank you very much for this.
Thank you Mr Harrington! What a difference you’ve made in my game.
Watching Paddy bate into that broken whip yoke might be the best thing I’ve ever seen in my life
Thank you. As a person who played cricket, this makes so much sense, and I did get a lesson from a pga pro who was trying to stop me cutting across the ball, and you showed a cover drive, this would prompt a in to out swing. Love these videos as you break everything down.
Thank you for aiming this at us “regular” golfing folks, example (the shallow the club at the top move being geared more toward the top of the food chain players.) keep up the good work and Bravo Zulu on your Captaincy.
God bless you, Padraig.Thank you for giving us the truth about the release in detail. I've been believing that bull about holding bowed wrist at impact and letting the body power the swing for years. You're great , I wish you even more great success !
What a great video! I never understood the split grip - get the club to stop in the downswing drill until this video! It all makes such good sense! Thanks, Padraig!
Padraig, thank you. This video is the one that breaks through all the mystery and uncertainty of the golf swing. To have a major champion unselfishly demonstrating the fine, minute details along with drills to get the right sensation is a testament to your love of the game.
Thank you so much for not just showing what to do, but why, how and also cautioning against common misunderstandings.
Thank you, Paddy! This is possibly the most informative golf video I’ve ever seen. Finding new feels that I’ve never encountered before thanks to this. Can’t wait to take them to the range and figure this thing out.
A great teacher.. I will bring my notebook next time. Learning from the best of the best...
Paddy, since I learnt using the wrist as a main factor in the swing from your tips, my awareness of the club face has improved tremendously. Now I can feel fades and draws in my hands even before I swing. So much so now that I can hit pitch draws and fades. Thank you for all your tips. I listen to you only because you have been there and are a proven winner. Thank you Sir.
Love this. Pure gold.
just amazing to see how much well thought advice you are giving for free, and apart from that, the neverending enthousiasm to try and find ways to tell this to the amateur golfer. Thank you Padraig.
Great continuation to Paddy´s golf tip #9 part II explaining what hands do during downswing and release. Big thanks for sharing these tips.
Finally the proper use of the orange whip
The lesson weve all been waiting for. Thank you!
Love these videos. I have become a huge fan of yours after I started following your channel. Keep up the great work of educating us. I do hope to see you more on the PGA tour and Majors this year.
Paddy's so old school, love it. Very different from all these UA-cam pros, just shows there's an infinite number of ways to do it. His action through the ball is very different from what Mike bender preaches. not better, just different and more along the lines of what I was taught growing up. Just go with what works for you
A key point I picked up here was, unless you are a seriously good golfer, don't faff around trying to "shallow your swing"! That should save me a lot of time to work on the productive stuff that Mr. Harrington is advocating. I could save even more time by only watching Paddy's vids. Huge thanks.
Thank you for the lesson on chipping , I have struggled for years on the very short shots .I will give it a try.Thank you so much for your time.
Thanks Paddy, great player, great trainer.
As usual Paddy, quality tips, top draw, thanx 👍👍👍👍
I appreciate that!
I always hear about bowing the left wrist in the backswing and transition to close the club but I’ve never heard about using the right hand to close it and yes they do the same thing but the feed is drastically different. Great lesson.
Padraig is some man to pass on a lifetime of knowledge to the amateur players. Making videos in his own time and not selling a course fair play 👏👏👏#givingback
That cinching of the lead armpit at impact is *gold!*
Thank you so much for offering golf club face workshop so that we can play golf freely, not been played by golf.
Absolute gold! Best explanation I’ve seen! I have a new favorite golfer! Thank you!
This is my favorite of the videos you’ve posted! You connected a lot of pieces for me here. Scratch by next season is the goal! You da man in da hole! Thank you!
Troweling the golf club is definitely the answer 😏
good listen . Loads of details
Fantastic video and I love your honesty. Thanks for this.
Padraig you absolute legend. That is gold right there. Thank you.
One of the best videos I’ve ever seen. 👍🏼 👍🏼
The whip really highlights the action, thank you
Paddy talks so much horse sense. Best out there.
These videos are incredible resources. If I had access to this 20 years ago I honestly might have turned pro.
Again -- one of the best explanations I've ever seen on this from one of the best channels on UA-cam -- thx so much!
Awesome..especially liked the thought on whipping the shaft/ club head at impact.
Best tips out there.
Love Paddy and he is giving us all the insides of the game.
Quality.... Just quality!.... Thanks Padraig!
Thank you for all the support!
Thank you for this lesson Padraig, I've been struggling for ages with trying to learn the modern forward shaft lean technique, which is being taught so much on you tube and on online instructional videos. Thanks for putting things straight for me and anyone else who has been struggling with the modern myths of teaching.
Maybe im Repeating myself but., Ive been doin the Cupping drill at the Top. Have NOT MISSED THE BALL YET!. Ive been stopping the Club at the Ball to look at the position of the Face. I was BLOWN AWAY w this.
Now in my Mind I know by my Knuckles position at the Top where the Face will be at Impact.
If i don’t do it correctly. The club face will get out in front of my hands and slap the Ball Thin. Great Feedback 👍
I aso have watched and Listened to Everyone.
Paddy is The Best and I deleted all other Peoples videos. I Hit every morning and mid day and Evening in my Back Yard.
Contact w the Ball Every Time is Amazing! and Brings Tears of Joy to my Eyes
Thanks Paddy
Thanks Paddy, trying to stop drill completely changed and improved my strike 🤞💪
About 10 years ago you told me and my wife off for walking in your eye line on the putting green on the 2nd at Walton Heath. I like this drill so much I've decided to forgive you :)
Thank you for all of these lessons. This is really great content for every golfer.
Thank you, Paddy. Really generous and wonderful advice as always! x
Hi Padraig, I just wanted to say thank you so much for taking the time and effort to make these videos. They are absolutely invaluable for someone like me who is only starting out learning the game and struggling big time. I don't think I've ever seen a clearer and more informative tutorial on this subject before. I now have a much better idea of what my wrists should be doing through the swing. The fact that you do these completely voluntarily for no other purpose than helping amateurs like me is a credit to you.
Thanks Padraig,
Jamie
Absolutely brilliant advice again Paddy. Can’t wait for your next episode and revelation!
Thanks Paddy. This video is priceless. Your best results are yet to come.
Thanks 👍
Thank you so much, you make it very clear, this has to be the best lesson ever
The section towards the end with the Orange Whip is so helpful to me.
amazing clear detailed without complexity thank you so much Padraig!
Cheers Paddy, top content as always. Much appreciated.
This is just brilliant. There are just so much talk about body releases and what ever releases and never explained how the release should really feel like and be like. I been stugging with this so long and finally got really help to get on to good impact position.
Love you, Padraig for such a detail lesson
One of the nicest men in golf. Saw him smash a ball in to trees at wentworth. Waded in to the trees with a laugh and a smile. Hit it through a tiny gap to 5ft (about 170 out) and a birdie. His wife was there supporting as well. Pre them having kids so quite a long time ago... First hand lesson on dealing with golfing problems and positive attitude. Stayed with me to this day.
Pure gold..Paddy is one hell of an instructor...
Amazing amount of knowledge and put across really well. Love it. Thanks.
Paddy--Thank you so much for these tips. Your skill at explaining things is amazing. I have learned a great deal from you and I enjoy playing even more now.
