    bought my FXD cash when I was 23. I am 47 now and that bike is amped up.
    Just bought a 2015 Road Glide. Heavy and dropped twice. Oh well such is life.
    My woman ownes a V-Rod and now a Road Glide too. Dropped twice.
    Sometimes its not just the ride but who you ride with.4 Harley's between the two of us. Been in contact for 30 years.
    Blessings and hope this made your day. Love all the glides..

    I just purchased a 2016 RGS my first ride was amazing. I'm 5'11 180 with the stock windshield I felt very little wind on the freeway on a very gusty day in WA. I didn't have any helmet buffeting like I did on my friends 2015 SGS. The ride and suspension were awesome and the stereo is a great upgrade, but I'm coming from a Street Bob. I couldn't be more pleased. Your video definitely helped in my decision while I was deciding. The bike does track phenomenally. Thanks and safe riding.

      @martin congrats man. Yea coming off a streetbob that's a huge ride comfort upgrade. Enjoy man. I'm happy to hear my video influenced your decision in a positive way.

    I was torn on whether or not to get a later model road glide or a 2015 and higher, this review sold me on at least a 2015 model. Although, I'm tall and not a fan of the bars that come with it. I'll more than likely switch them out for some 14 or 16 inch cordovas. I look forward to more reviews. keep it up.

      +Richard Turner Good Choice. The 2015 is not just a little bit better but A LOT better than the previous generation Road Glides. I'm glad I could help with your choice. Good luck with the bars.

    You must be in Cali because that's a whole lot of lane splitting, and right as I'm typing this, you confirm it 2mins in.

    How easy is it to lane split with these touring bikes? I'm torn between either a street or road glide and a dyna lowrider, the only reason I'm leaning towards the dyna is because I feel since they're smaller frame its easier to lane split.

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  7 років тому

      Dyna is definitely easier to lane split with. It all depends on the freeway and the "buffer" between the #1 and #2 lanes. Some freeways have 2-4 yellow lines separating them. Other highways have no buffer because of road construction or a lack of carpool lane. These can be hard to split in with a fairing bike especially when you get large buses and trucks on either side of you. Nothing is better than a FLHXS or FLTRXS at high speeds going down the freeway though.

    Have they fixed the issue with the cam chains and shoes? I'm terrified of having a bike I need to rebuild the engine on @ 30,000 miles...

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  8 років тому +1

      +setmedic Yes they fixed that in 2007 and went to a hydraulic tensioner. 2006 and earlier is where they had some problems with that

      I should. Eventually I will maybe not soon though.

      That's cool, it looks like an interesting bike. Also I bet you would get a lot of hits on here if that's what you're looking for. There aren't many videos on it.

    Have you tried the 2016 Ultra ? wondering how it handles compared to the specialgreat review btw

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  8 років тому +1

      It's similar. The ultra has taller suspension which gives it a nicer ride but gives it more or the UPS truck feel. It still handles extremely well for the size of the bike as long as you get a 2009 or newer. 2014 is even better because of project Rushmore. Also the tour pack gives it a more top-heavy feel. The ultra is a lot better as far as handling and agility then other makes in the full-dresser category

    Can you hear the radio at highway speeds?

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  8 років тому +1

      +A A Yea, the radios have gotten a lot better in the past couple years. I can always hear my radio. The only time that it isn't that great is when I'm doing 65 MPH + in really busy freeways etc. If i'm doing those speeds on the lone open highway the radio is still decent.

  • @servicarrider
    @servicarrider 8 років тому

    Just one small correction. This is not the tall mans bagger. The tall mans bagger is called a "VICTORY."

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  8 років тому +1

      +servicarrider The problem with that is then you're stuck with an inferior product.

    • @servicarrider
      @servicarrider 8 років тому

      +zeallistic That's funny as hell. You must be an aspiring comedian. If Trump gets in and lays down a 45% tariff on Chinese imports these Chinese motorcycle assembled in America are going to be priced right out of the market. That will be bye bye H-D unless they decide to build an American product. By that time it might be to late.

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  8 років тому +1

      +servicarrider Let me know when you can ride a 2-wheeler and we can go out and test some real motorcycles.

    • @servicarrider
      @servicarrider 8 років тому

      +zeallistic I was riding Harleys before you were born you smart assed moron. I have a Harley in my garage that I have owned for longer than you have been riding. A ride together just wouldn't work out. I would be scooting down the road on my Victory while you were waiting on the side of the road for the tow truck to pick up your broke down Chinese motorcycle. Life is too short. That and I don't ride with morons. Give yourself a rest.

    • @MattLaidlaw
      @MattLaidlaw  8 років тому +1

      +servicarrider so you're a really old man with a really old Harley. Cool. One thing I can guarantee is I would whoop your ass on my Harley any day man.

    Matt I'm thinking about getting a 2015 road glide as a first bike as a new rider, what do you think?

  • @rickmunoz3734
    @rickmunoz3734 6 років тому

    Yay! The People's Republic of Kalifornia-stan allows lane splitting! Too bad the ban everything else and tax the fuck out of you!
