I recently got three weeks with my cousin's 2019 CVO with a stage 4 kit in it. The ride was awesome but coming from a CBR 954 I still like to cut corners and lean hard. I am 50 now and am in the market for a Harley. I had come to the conclusion that I need both worlds and this is it. I love it. I'm glad I found it while the culture is still young. I'm thinking about a salvaged road glide and go from there. This is the type of bike for me.
This is my DREAM BIKE! I came from riding sports bikes for many years and I finally got my 1st Harley last year, I went with the Street Bob because it’s what I could afford and I did a Stage2 with a 2-1 TBR with carbon cap, Whiplash Slipstream seat and some other mods and I love the bike. BUT, I really want to do a Road Glide “Performance Bagger” because the touring platform is just so nice, it’s comfortable and solid and to have that performance aspect would be such a benefit especially with the way I ride, I like to ride my bike like a sport bike but I also enjoy the cruiseablilty and torque on the city roads. Maybe one day I’ll be able to afford to build a performance bagger but I’d have to get the bagger first 😂🤣😂. This build is DOPE, it’s done right and it looks badass. The owner is a lucky dude and I bet it puts a smile on his face every time he rides it because if I saw it on the road it’d put a big smile on my face! Great job!
I own a street glide and I love it, but now I want a road glide now sooooooo bad after watching this. love this bike and video, I think I’ve seen this video 100 times already.
This machine looks and sounds amazing! I am also a firm believer in a good balance of comfort and power, comfort for when me and my wife ride together, and dialling in the suspension and the power when I’m on my own.
Hey Matt, I may be visiting Laidlaws Harley-Davidson soon. Hope to ride with you. You did a great job on the Road Glide performance bagger, it looks great. Thanks for the upload. Keep Glidin and have a blessed day. Tall
Hey Matt first thanks for your video's. I have been watching your videos (old to current). Bought my bike in May, 2021 FLHTK. For me the gains in performance outweighed the possible cost of non-warranty repair. Built an SE 131 Kit, added Max-cell 837b cam kit, Fullsac header, Khrome Werks slip-ons. Dyno 150hp 162 torque. Man-O-War compensator, Trask basket, G3 Carbonite clutch, SE pressure plate, 1275 springs. Ohlins Blackline 772's, Ohlins NIX 22 front cartridges. Ferodo 300mm rear rotor, 320mm BrakeTech front rotors. EBC brake pads all around. Krauss Vector One axle adjuster. For anyone interested the SE 131 kit plus a real cam and tune is awesome!
Awesome Matt! Thanks for being the best at what you do and bringing Harley Davidson into the performance scene we all have been waiting a long time for this! You guys are making Harley Davidson take notice and adapt!
Great build. The owner will be pleased to the fullest. A build I can appreciate. Quality parts & workmanship throughout that incredible build. Congratulations 🍾 on a job done right. 👍🏽
Really like this performance bagger. I'm 60 years old and if I could afford it I would build one also. It's a HOT ROD on 2 wheels. Very nicely put together. The shorter bags look great also. I like the idea behind changing them out. Well Done Guys...
Great looking and performing build. Personally Im with you. Ive been on baggers for about 20 years. Built a big motor RG way back and people thought I was crazy. The trend continues but now the support from aftermarket has gone far beyond just motors as you showed in this build. Nothing better than twisting the wick past people but still be able to load up the bike and go on a road trip for days. To me this is one if you want to call it fad that will be around for some time. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the great work.
When I lived in cali in 2010 we were doing stuff like this to sportsters. Tall shocks +2 front ends and ripping on Palomar mountain and the pch. Technology has definitely come along way since then.

Love the performance bagger stuff its fun rocking baggers like they are small bikes. I ride a kawasaki vaquero bagger an played with suspension an stuff to make it handle corners always been fun for me
I have built a bagger. I bought my 18 Road Glide 107 FLTRX new. I added things as I could afford them. I put Legends suspension front & rear, D&D x-pipe because I’m old school & like the dual exhaust look with S&S mufflers, 128 screamin Eagle kit, S&S 540 torque cam, S&S roller rockers, fueling cam chest, S&S lifters, SE pushrods, SE Heavy breather. Dyno numbers 132 hp, 148 tq. 148tq peak hits at 2750 rpm & carry’s it to 4750 rpm & doesn’t drop below 125 tq until 5500. My bike shows that you can get exceptional tq numbers with dual exhaust.

@@MattLaidlaw Matt, what is your opinion of engine heat on the 131"? I've got a '21 Road Glide Limited, a little off put from what I've read regarding engine heat. Is there something to this? Thank you, love the vids.
@@walterlee3839 it’s hot. Most of it is from the cat though. Otherwise I don’t notice much difference in a stock 114 vs 131 (except the power/torque of course). Drives very stock like, RDRS still works great, it may pop into the single cylinder mode quicker than it used to. Has a bigger oil cooler sound isn’t hugely different from what I can remember. Gas mileage has suffered. I’d totally recommend the upgrade. I’ve had a lot of fun with the bike.
@@TeensierPython Thanks for the response. The RGL's are Twin cooled, so my bike has no oil cooler. I'm torn between the 122 S3 & 131 S4. The 122's torque is about the same as the 131 up to 4000 rpm. I think I'd prefer the 122's cam (torque cam) as the vast majority of my riding is in that area. I bought an 84 month ESP, so I'm married to HD and their tuner. I'm trying to work this build inside 60 days of purchase so I would have 7 years of warranty, which is great peace of mind. Thinking after 24 months that I can switch everything up with new cams, tuners, etc., won't work at least if I want to keep my warranty, which I do. Living in the south, I've read several say it is HOOOOOTTT, although they love the build. Confusion, confusion......I've read gas mileage drops down to around 31 or so, which is not bad. The nice thing abut Twin cooled is if stopped in traffic, the motor actually cools off a bit, instead of ramp up hot if oil cooled. But it doesn't get me around the cat/heat/warranty issue.
Years ago yes. With today’s suspension offerings these two objective should not be to hard to achieve. Not in the least. This is the same with automobiles. What is available in the aftermarket is much better than off the showroom offerings. Guaranteed.

Great bike! Great Video! Yes, I like performance baggers. Even though most of us don’t have this kind of budget, we still like to dream and it gives us ideas for a lower cost version. Thanks
Hi, Matt your right this is for that specific rider. I own a 2021 Roadglide Special.and I absolutely love it. It's my dream bike. My opinion about these performance baggers are there great for that particular rider. I don't believe that they would make a great touring type bike to go for the long haul. I've heard from a Harley tech I met who had those type of handle bars and he told me that is more of an aesthetic type look not really comfortable for the long haul. His was a performance bagger as well. But once again I will say to each there own and yes your right these are made for that specific type of rider. But never the less man that bike is definitely sick!! Sounds sick as shit too. Great video man.

I absolutely love the performance baggers.
Sounded good. Looks good. Surprised you didn't do the Rockford Fosgate sound. Customer should enjoy it.
Hooah
Performance baggers are really nice ,just like the 98 oldsmobile with the 455 rocket motor there is definitely a niche, if you ever drove one from NY to LA it's a must have ♥️ .....
Pure America ✌.
Great. I like the wave of the performance baggers. Top video.

Great bike! Great Video! Yes, I like performance baggers. Even though most of us don’t have this kind of budget, we still like to dream and it gives us ideas for a lower cost version. Thanks
One word man, one word... Sick!
Lol, that swing arm is almost identical to 04-06 R1 swing arm. Looks damn good on this bike
What an amazing machine Matt!
Awesome build … just love it !
