Extraordinary (!) The Styrian music festival - serenata Psiche (1720/22) by the Viennese court conductor Johann Joseph Fux. This rare opera performed for the first time in 300 years, with a specially created version (slightly shortened and with some numbers added by Antonio Caldara) being performed. Thank you for performing this brilliant performance, as if we were listening to an opera by Handel, Telemen.
1:29.00, immersa in un’atmosfera settecentesca: la quinta naturale del cortile dell’ Hause Styriarte, da cui canta il coro, chiude la scena resa sontuosa dagli abiti dei protagonisti, dalle movenze galanti di Mercurio, dall’albagia di Afrodite, dalla sfrontatezza e dai tormenti di Psiche. Giove è un re Sole che riporta l’armonia donando l’immortalità alla bellissima terrestre. Raffaele Pe è un vero Cupido, melodioso e bellissimo con il neo sulla guancia e i riccioli d’oro. Un’esecuzione da parte di tutti “divina”. La musica di J.J.Fux ha tutte le note a posto per essere ascoltata e vista !! 🤩🎵🎵🎵🎶👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Bitte bitte auch unbedingt auf CD veröffentlichen so wie Dafne in Lauro und La Corona d`Arianna! Psyche hat wunderschöne Arien! Die Aufführung war sehr schön.
Wowsers! I was just listening to an old Musical Heritage Society record from the 60s that had a couple of arias from Psiche on it, and it occurred to me that the whole* opera must be UA-cam. Mad props to J.J. Fux and the entire cast! It’s great! (* Hate to sound ungrateful but where’s “Orgia’s aria”? It’s on the LP… 🧐)
