I love how there are comments here older than a decade remarking on how Nassif is still in the game, and now we're over twenty years into his career. One of the greatest to ever do it.

it's great to see how LSV has lost so much weight watching this video and watching a recent episode of Channel Fireball Magic TV. i'm happy for him, great job man.

@joshua61991 If you're talking about a standard tournament, there are no 2nd turn win decks even with an optimum draw. If you're thinking legacy or vintage, say hello to force of will.

Yeah, I kinda felt bad after I posted it. He sounds like a nice guy and all. It's just that he doesn't have a traditional sports caster type of voice.

@ninjoshot He's the official WotC writer, writing coverage for the game as it goes on. He'll write a rough sketch of the game and keep notes of soundbites the players come up with.

Your opinion; both games require large amounts of strategic planning and short-term tactics. I personally think Chess is more complicated than M:TG.

@littlteapot It's a recent change in the rules, +1/+1 counters and -1/-1 counters on the same permanent annihilate each other.

i've noticed that no one uses a specific combo. I have a combo deck that is at most a two turn winner, could I win one of these tournaments with that combo deck or are combo decks easily beaten?

Except for the most part in magic the lines of of play are much more obvious. But yes, Chess and Magic are very similar games down to that attribute.
