    I did my entire car in FatMat material a few years back and also used some foam padding.
    Having a nice kit would really have saved some time and likely given a better result.
    Pro Tip: White lithium grease spray your seat recliner gears, seats tend to vibrate slightly as you drive and this squeaking noise is difficult to pin down.

    Guys, I love you. This is something I've been looking for when I build my "Grand Touring" NA.

    13:24 i feel you’re back pedalling hard on this question. My take is: the sound deadening is the most effective however FM would like to also sell the heat insulation too 😅

      I think Brandon just thought he forgot to put his dog up before heading to work 😁Nah, man. He's not thinking of how many insulation units we have on the shelf. He just wants to make sure he's clear on how each product will help in a certain situation.
      Thanks for watching!

    Please do a comprehensive aftermarket seat for larger drivers both taller and wider with reclining bucket seats and maybe some fixed seats as well

    The only installation vids for the DEI insultion, show it just set in place. Is there no reason to glue the DEI insulation?

    • @FlyinMiataVideo
      @FlyinMiataVideo  11 місяців тому

      Correct! Simply set it in place, and reinstall the rest of your components - due to it being pre-cut to fit, it won't move once the carpet and seats are back in the car.

    Hey guys how did you guys install / where did you guys place the sound damping kit on the door? And do you guys have a trunk insulation? Thanks.

    The window rattly noise could be bad outside window moulding, bad window bushing that holds window in track, bad door to frame bushing [rectangular]

    Great discussion, though if you guys would consider using a better material. I've just finished sound deadening my MZ3 hatch and used soundshield/soundskins on the hatch and all 4 doors and found this material superior to just a buytl & aluminum only layer such as 50mil or 80mil. Compared it to my other Mazda and quite the difference in sound. Food for thought, it's only a little bit more expensive but if your taking the time to do this in your car, might as well get better material. I found that about 40-60 Sq Ft was what I needed to do a 4 door "another 20sqft for floors". Hope this info helps anyone the looks in the comments for better understanding of what you guys are trying to say.
    Foam layers help even more just like the vid states.

      *J H: Thank you for very useful info. Older than your MZ3, now in process of "civilising" my Racing Beat equipped Protege ES. I always read Comments and Replies because much to learn is found there. Cheers!*

    What about insulation for a soft top?

    I'm a bit disappointed that you didn't mention the trunk. I'm also a bit annoyed that there is not door kit available. I would put noise reduction in the doors as my number one priority.

      Why don't you make an instructions live video that helps people and speak perfectly? Until then, SU.
