Never heard anyone with a time feel and phrasing like this on guitar! This is jazz! This is the real jazz! Wish some of the new cats would have at least a little of this swag! Without this attitude with all respect what they play is not the real American jazz feeling… I know it’s artsy and takes a lot to be like that but the way Bobby plays moves your body from within!! The accents the way he attacks the note! I’m going crazy can’t stop listening that’s the way to play !!!!!
Hi Michael, this group is no longer active, but before it disbanded in 2013, we’d toured as opening act for Steely Dan, had a number one record on the national jazz radio chart, had played many major jazz venues around the country, traveled abroad to perform, and were about to start playing national jazz festivals. If you listen to Jazz Radio you’ll still hear us from time to time.
Thank you for your music, I can listen to this all night long, and you’ve got great sounds. Last time I played a Hofner was in my school band sixty some yrs ago. 👏🙏
Would love to see bobby collaborate with stevie winwood , like jacko said “ you’better do it now before you get old “ very best wishes and thanks for some fantastic music !
Thanks Michael. Although we disbanded in 2013, when we were active as DBOT (from 2004-2013), we grew to be quite popular relative to the potential of independent jazz artists. We first recorded for a record label in 2004, then subsequently made three more records that we self-produced and released on a label under a licensing deal. During that time, our records got top 5 national jazz radio play and the final one, "Wonderful!" went to #1. We were touring all over the States, in Europe and were about to get bigger when we finally called it quits. I still hear our records on the radio (SiriusXM, etc.).
@@bobbybroom No, Bobby. Thank you! Whenever I see the throng of guitar playing "geniuses" throw their chord charts in my face, I refer ALL OF THEM to this video. These people have never heard ANYTHING like what you and Chris Foreman do in their collective lives. Count on it!
What a line up! Greg and Chris are tremendous players as well! My Dad took me to see Greg back in 1970 when he was just a young kid playing in his dads trio. One of the main reasons I took up the instrument. Nice work Bobby!
OK so Becker or Fagen had been listening to cat, same time as me - Ie with Charles Earland about 1987, and Bobby wailed - PS we now have a favorite Peavey amp product user, right? they sound great
I was able to track down that song. This song was actually a Motown-driven soul/funk song by Earth, Wind and Fire. This jazz organ trio made a good attempt to try to make that EWF number their own jazz standard, with changes. They made the rhythm in a style of a jump-blues swing instead of a soul-funk ballad. It does have some swing-funk stylings thanks to the jazz organ licks of Chris Foreman. Overall, I see bits of Jimmy McGriff and George Benson and maybe Marvin "Smitty" Smith in that performance.
I love this...
Its my favorite Bobby and company performance!
Love y’all’s records!! Talk about lineage!!
Greg Rockingham is a real baaaaad groove master!
👊🏿👊🏿
Total Genius TOUCH ‼️‼️
I've probably played along with this song 100s of times pretending I'm Bobby Broom!! It steadily picks up.
I love the swing groove to "Can't Hide Love". Very nicely done!
No show off noodlin here just straight groove and inspired musical communication!
I like the phrases
Smokin’ all round !
👊🏿👊🏿
Outstanding ‼️

Very well said , my sentiments exactly ! Good listening .
Fantastic!!
Another fine example of what makes Bobby’s playing stand out: Technically brilliant but with inspired groove. The full package.
YES! Honestly, there's no other way to play jazz. If you can't make it dance in some way, you're doing it wrong.
Since J Smith and K Burrell, have not heard such a tight and complementary groove. Damn, guys -- smooth and tight. Joey take note!
The Deep Blue Organ Trio was one ☝️ of the best things Chicago had to offer, amazing chemistry and individual talent.
Chris should be considered a national treasure
Excellent I have this on CD I love the video hope it is available still ,I like to support the artist
Great Organ Trio...One of the things I like best about Bobby Brooms playing is it's so very lyrical, groovin' and easy to process.
Perfect combination! 🙂
That’s the right way to play. 😊 🎸 🎹 🥁
Great but very underrated group!

@@bobbybroom Thanks for the history. Now I have to go into the archives. The B3 stops are refreshingly different than the standard of others.
Such beautiful playing, Bobby. Man!
Just introduced this band to other musicians who didn’t know , but people are starting to ! Well done !!!
Great guitar solo.
Thanks David!
Spectacular playing. Creativity on this tune I wouldn't have even thought of, much less do. Really smooth and cool take off on this song! Beautiful.
Thank you!!

Beautiful
Killing band....i died
joli!!!
Tight !!!!!!
Thanks Jeff!
He has just one pickup on that guitar. That's all he needs.
Is that Ellis Hall on Organ ?
anyone know what amp/peavey amp that is?
Those were either Special the112, 150, or 130. My go-tos back then. I play Henriksen now, but still keep a few of those Peaveys around...
which tune is he quoting in the intro at 0.17 ?
"Witch Hunt," by Wayne Shorter, I think.
EWF! That’s hot!
Names please!!
