    I used my Symposer Delete as a true vaccum source for my HKS SSQV... Sounds AMAZING!!!!!!

      ...how did you get an HKS SSQV on the Ecoboost? I'm not doubting you; I just wanna know because that's an incredible-sounding BOV and I would love to put one on my Focus ST.

      @@greecoboost I did a FMIC (Treadstone TR8), HKS SSQV, two 90° Elbows from ATP (1 with the MAP sensor mount & 1 with the HKS Flange welded in), and of course T-clamps & two silicone IC connectors. I did a Sound Symposer Delete, blocked off the stock recirculating valve location, and used SSD as a vaccum source for the HKS. You can get the CP-e Exhale kit if you want and also use the Sound Symposer with delete kit as a vaccum source. I chose to get more upgrades for the same amount of money basically and went the route I did, everything for me was around $600.

      @@greecoboost the Treadstone TR8 is a damn good FMIC for the money, under $300... The CP-e Exhale kit with the HKS SSQV is going to run you almost $600

      Does your bov go off regardless of boost preessure? I barley got on the gas and I hear my hks bov go off. My symposer delete is also used as a true vaccum source for my bov.

    Video quality even in the dark was good but impossible to see what you're doing. Pretty good camera work, making sure everything is in shot. Even using the light on your phone probably would have been enough. Overall tho a good guide, just needs more light 🤝

      @@andrewmackey6185 i just made my sound symposer set for $5.37 went to home depot and got 2 white abs plastic plumbing plugs.. on at 1 3/8 od and one at 1 od.. the first one fits inside the lower tube to the sound symposer,, and used a hose clamp to clamp it off,, the 1 inch one.. i just cut the long hose from the symposer to the firewall.. and cut that hose down to about 3 inchs long, and just tapped the 1 inch plug into the hose, and slipped the other end onto the firewall... hint.. to do this.. remove the intake manifold and t/b all the way down to were the lower boost hose fits to the first clamp,, and just remove the hole thing..makes it easier to work on..also do some light cleaning of the area.. my t/b was quite clean...2014 ford fusion 156000 miles on it..., you can remove the spring clamps easier. as with age,, the clamps kinda glue themselfs to the rubber..i dont like to use silicone spray near any intake parts,, it could damage the o2 sensors.. so as a ' classic Italian car tech. here a trick we use olive oil.. make rubber boots easier to slip over things.. last for years, and wont damage the sensors... hope this helps someone.. and save you a lot of money..also.. almost forgot.. you can tap the lower plug for a barbed fitting, to use as a true vaccum source if you want to.. this fix only works on the ford fusion and flesta st models

    Any idea his this would differ compared to a diverter valve? I got the DV+ from GFB. Its not super loud at the moment. Thinking of doing this mod

    • @andrewmackey6185
      @andrewmackey6185  3 роки тому +1

      Not really sure how it would sound with a DV on there. Probably still loud enough flutter considering the focus st flutters completely stock if you remove the intake box to hear it :)

    • @damoissasicko
      @damoissasicko 3 роки тому

      @@andrewmackey6185 did the mod. It sure flutters more. Its not super loud either, mainly because the sound comes from the air filter I have exposed, and not the bov. Its my daily anyway so I'm not gonna worry with making heaps of turbo noise everywhere I go XD thanks for the clear tutorials & prompt responses mate

      @@BickWrld still working! No issues with the vacuum line. I switched to a GFB vent-to-air BOV instead. Love the sound combination now.
      Without the vacuum line, the bov would go off all the time. Sounds more natural with the vacuum mod + mad flutter.
      Also recommend a cold air intake if you want more intake noise :)

    How tight do I need my turbosmart 50/50 I've heard the rule of thumb is fully tighten, then two turn back off.

    • @andrewmackey6185
      @andrewmackey6185  3 роки тому +1

      I've heard the same when first installing but I also heard just install as is out of the box which is what I did 3 years ago. If running a true vacuum, I have seen many people say go all the way loose and then one full turn to the right. I have yet to to change the tightness/looseness on my BOV yet. I will most likely change it in the next few weeks and if I do, I will update you!

    Pretty sure doing this is not healthy for your turbo

    • @andrewmackey6185
      @andrewmackey6185  3 роки тому +2

      That is debatable I'd say. Some turbo cars don't even have a BOV and they exclusively produce flutter. Anyone thinking of doing this should definitely look into it as I'm not a professional in the slightest.
