Oh my goodness Bob - I think I'll have to pinch myself and play that again to be sure I'm not dreaming, hallucinating or my ears are playing tricks on me. Hang on a tick... Nope - that is for certain exactly what I said in my comment - and you really did say what I thought you just said! How awesome is that? I'm going to be watching that mailbox like a hawk. I'll let you know the minute it arrives and I'm just thrilled at the prospect of trying it out. Please do thank your good authority for me? I've got an inkling I know who that is. :-)
Instead of kerosene, 99% alcohol works well for me much of the time, especially when I have to work indoors. I've also heard that synthetic oil of wintergreen (found in the bakery section of the grocery store) is well thought of as a penetrating oil instead of the more toxic varieties. All that said, one can't miss using kerosene on a sewing machine outside.
Time to shop for my pulling gear. Thanks
Bacon goes good with me. Nice trick, flush and at 4 o’clock easy to remember. Thanks, Bob
Some auto stores will rent gear pullers. Harbor freight sells them very reasonable.

😂Nicely done Bob.
Lamp oil is a highly refined kerosene, and has a very mild odor. I also have used it on trumpet valves as a cheap alternative to valve oil.
I was wondering if I could use lamp oil. I'll try it on the next machine that I service.
I use low odor paint thinner instead of kerosene for really bad varnished oil.
OK, mineral spirits would work, good call Jo!
3:57 is Paraffin Wax (tiki torch/lamp fuel) kerosene? Because mine has no smell (and that’s what I’ve been using).
I haven't tried tiki torch fuel, but it should work just fine.
I've looked for a Craftsman offset 1/4" ratcheting wrench and can't find one anywhere, even on the Craftsman website. Any suggestions?
Amazon has them. It's listed as a screwdriver, not a wrench.
Thanks, I just ordered one.
