    I'd recommend for future videos to start the video with footage of final product so people know if they're watching the right video for their needs. A thumbnail that shows final product would also be helpful.

      Hola Mr. FixIt
      Guyana. Holy Moly! That's far off the beaten track. Hope you guys are all OK down there.
      Yes, it's filmed in Port MacQuarie after having converted the van in Perth, WA and driven the ride all across the Nullabor and up the East Coast.
      Hey, you're always welcome to drop by in Switzerland too, broder, ehh!!

    Not a bad video, good concept.
    Needs a little work, noticed the leak at 6.39.
    Might be empty by the time you get to camp.
    Don't know if I'd use this for drinking....Watch your fitting types if using for drinking.
    I don't think the Bunnings plumber's advice is Gospel either. He's just trying to sell product...
    And by 10 wraps, probably sold you 2 rolls instead of 1.....

      Hey buddy,
      Well, thank you for the initial positive stance (often drowned out by negatives as folks seem to take 'OK' for default and just vent when they disagree or feel miffed or upset).
      🤝🤜🤛🙌😎
      It never leaked noticeably, but - yeah! - agreed. Also the other points are absolutely valid, so much tape was definitely overkill and might backfire. Not sure if Bunnings' employees bring home a commission, I doubt it - the guys in Perth were - at least seemingly - helpful, i.e. true-blue fair-dinkum malakas. 🤔😂
      Have, by now, built a bigger van (Renault Master) with water works & all the bells and whistles - totally worth it!

Rohr.

      The positive often goes unnoticed (inconspicuous by its absence), while the negatives are all too loud.
      At any rate: Thanks heaps!

    3 1/2 times on the Teflon tape and that's all you need for any tape because then you get it just pushes it back if you get too much that's what I meant on the other voice

    • @SandroTrunz
      @SandroTrunz  4 роки тому

      Well, I see your point; it has not pushed back in any of my fittings and they're all shut super-tight.
      Trial and error, everyone's gotta find what suits them best.

    Why didn't you just use a bulkhead ftg to go through the end cap?

  • @williamwhitehead8362
    @williamwhitehead8362 4 роки тому +1

    3 1/2 times is the minimum any more than that you get too much and it becomes not good so you're a little bit wrong there but that's OK this is modern day by the best type plumbing tape you can buy

    • @SandroTrunz
      @SandroTrunz  4 роки тому

      Are you referencing to the amount of tape layers on
      - metal (copper, ...) plumbing
      OR
      - plastic junctions?
      In a related note, "wrong" is a bit harsh an evaluation to pass. Such discussions always remind me quibbles on BMV versus Mercedes, VW versus Skoda etc., which - really - is more about personal preference that any sound, science-based or even demonstrably empirical fact. Some then even proceed to turn this nit-picking into quasi-religious arguments. Not a big fan.
      I've driven my Renault Master conversion from Switzerland all the way to Morocco over many a pothole and bumpy side-road. The plumbing inside has gotten a lot more involved and has not given me any troubles so far AT ALL! So, after all, my approach and my plumber's tips can't be that dead "wrong".
      - 2.5 bar SHURflo Lilie sensor-membrane pump 18.5L/min
      - hot-water tank
      - thermostatic mixer (scald prevention)
      - another mixer in front of shower outlet
      - ...
      Best greetings from full-on lock-down in Tamraght, Morocco,
      Sandro

    Hey mate, how did you attach the bike pump?

    • @SandroTrunz

      Hey buddy,
      I simply fitted a regular car tire/tyre pressure-valve onto one of the sides (smaller hole, the seal-ring of the valve shuts tight), and then still applied ample sealant - especially on the outside as the inside shuts tight owing to pressure. :-)

    Lol. You wait until you come to NSW and some ass hole turns your tap on in the car park while your shopping. That will piss you off. I have a tap with a padlock so small minded people can't ruin my day.

      Yeah, never had that happen to me, but - I reckon - nice feature.
